DH and I went to see this movie today. I thought that Gerard Butler and Katherine Heigl had great chemistry. It is definitely not a movie for kids :lmao: It's pretty crude.

And by the by, the cost of snacks? yikes! DH almost had a heart attack at the concession stand! $11.75 for popcorn and a soda. If I wasn't pregnant and craving popcorn we definitely would not have spent that!

I saw it last night and I completely agree. I was expecting it to be funnier for some reason but still enjoyed it.

I saw it friday and like it. It wasn't the best movie I have ever seen, but it was a great way to kill a friday afternoon!

I saw it last night and I liked it even though it was predictable.

Oh yes....very predictable! I thought both guys were pretty cute in the movie.

As far as prices go, it cost $18 for hubby and I to get in. He bought a popcorn and drink for $11...it sure isn't cheap to go see a movie anymore!

A theater in this area has 'stimulus Tuesday'. Popcorn $1 soda, $1. Then if you go at a special time, admission is $6.

They would have to do CPR on me if I had to pay full price for everything.:scared1:

In fact, that was the first time in my life I ever bought popcorn at a movie!

I'm a bit frugal.:thumbsup2

Wasn't planning on seeing this, but saw it anyway with a friend.

I thought it was 'eh'.

I'm not really a fan of those types of movies, and it didn't surprise me or anything by being overly hilarious, just very crude and expected.

PS I'm hard to please when it comes to movies ;)

This is one I want to go see but I refuse to pay over $8 a ticket. We will wait until it comes on at the $2 theater or for it to come out on DVD.

I thought it was more crude than I was expecting (what, not even 10 seconds in before you heard a curse? wonderful...) I'm no prude, but it started to wear on me.

Thought it was funny, could be done with a little more class. We went to see a matinee. If you're thinking about seeing it, rent it on a rainy day (when the kids aren't home!) It's entertaining, definitely a check your brain at the door kind of movie. Think my boyfriend enjoyed this "romantic comedy" more than I did!

We saw it Saturday and although I liked it, I didn't like it as much as I thought I would. The funny thing is, as my husband and I waited for the movie to start, I saw my daughter and her boyfriend walk right past us in the theater! I was kind of uncomfortable in parts knowing that she was hearing some of those things! Crazy I know, since she just turned 20 yrs. old. :rotfl::sad2:

I agree with The Proposal though. Very cute movie, and I liked it a lot. :)

I just saw this today and thought it was hilarious. I'm not sure why it's getting such bad reviews. I liked The Proposal too, but that wasn't exactly UNpredictable. LOL.

I looove Eric Winter (the "other" guy). He played Rex on DOOL several years back... I liked him then, but DAMN. Sexy Rexy has grown up! Yummy.

I love The Ugly Truth! I though that Katherine and Gerard had excellent chemisty (not to mention he looked smokin! ;)) I thought it was very funny, and while it was predictable it was very enjoyable... I was fanning myself after that elevator scene ;)

The Proposal
was better though! Talk about great chemisty ;)

The chemistry in The Proposal was fantastic, and Ryan Reynolds is steamy hot. But I preferred the storyline in The Ugly Truth.

My Dh and I went to see it last sunday. We both loved it and laughed our butts off!!! About half way though we saw a woman get up and take her child - probably around 6 or 7 - to the bathroom!!! It spoiled the rest of the movie through me, because at every crude joke, I would love over to the side where she was sitting with her four children and just cringe. I was sooo mad at her!! Its SOOOOO not a movie for children. Get a babysitter or see a kid friendly movie! i wish that theatres would crack down on the parent/bringing a child thing. If its rated R, you can't bring them in, period.

I am sick of kids acting out in movies, period. Went to see Harry Potter today and idiot woman brought her 2 sons with her -- ages 3 and 5. They kept asking, "What's going on? Who's that? WHy is that happening?" and shrieking whenever something scary happened. We moved and I noticed about 20 minutes into it that the entire audience had moved away from her, leaving this empty ring around them.
