The U2 Thread - Vertigo Tour

Someone had also posted this on the yahoo U2 groups and I just have to say how heartbreaking!! There has got to be some way Ticketmaster can control this. I personally have not bought ticketfast tickets from a 3rd party because I'm aware of the risk.

Too bad U2 couldn't have a one time counterfeit tickets only concert. :teeth:

Bajanswife: I see that you found the Yahoo Groups ok. I saw your post today!! Good luck!

Thanks Dizneyholic!

I also won't even consider a Ticketfast ticket - the only e-Bay tickets I've been watching are actual hard tickets from people who have a feedback score of at least 30, all or mostly positive, and have positive feedback comments from other ticket buyers. i.e. I want to know that the person has sold legit tickets in the recent past! It's still a risk though. I'd prefer to get them through Ticketmaster direct, but I worry that I won't be able to.

Iwas at the second Boston show on Thursday night and I really can't find the words to say how freakin' amazing it was!! Our seats were great, right on the side of the stage, about 15 feet away over the Bud Light sign over the doorway where they came out. There wasn't anyone in front of us, just a railing, so we could see pretty much everything. When I saw Bono walk out from under us to head to the stage, I thought I would pass out. Fortunately, I did not and had the best concert experience ever of my entire life!! The band was on fire, the crowd was really into it, and the setlist was everything I could have wanted. In addition to the songs they've been doing most nights, we got "Gloria;" we got "With or Without You;" we got "OUT OF CONTROL (!!!);" we got "Original of the Species." The last two seemed to be last minute decisions by Bono, since Edge had to scramble to get the right guitar for OOC and remember how to start it as Bono asked the crowd to "give us a minute." Bono had said to the band "Don't you think this crowd is out of control? Out of control? Adam Clayton, out of control?" and then Adam started the bass line to it while Edge changed guitars and figured out where he was. After that, Bono introduded "Original of the Species," dedicating it to all those "with a baby in their belly" and poor Edge had to drop the guitar and hightail it up to the piano. Bono apologized to Edge during a break in "Original", saying "Sorry Mr The Edge for not warning you!" The band genuinely seemed to be having a great time. After one of the songs during the encore, don't remember which, Bono walked over to Larry and pumped both fists with a huge smile on his face, like he was psyched that they were giving us such an amazing show and getting such a thunderous response. Then when I thought it couldn't get any better they closed with an extended version of "Bad," one of my all time favorites. They kept it going for a while, with Bono even bringing a girl up from the bomb shelter to slow dance, taking off his glasses and giving her a kiss (lucky!) and then later throwing in a few "How long to sing this song" choruses from "40". After the band left the stage the final time, the crowd started up again with "40," but they didn't come back although the lights stayed off for a bit.

BTW, before the show started but after the opening act, my husband saw Steven Tyler come out from the bomb shelter (we were right next to the entrance to it) and walk under us to go backstage, but I wasn't looking in that direction and by the time he saw Steven it was too late for him to point him out to me.

How lucky you are!! Sounds like an amazing concert experience. I have always always wanted to see U2 and it just doesn't seem like I ever will. Tickets are so hard to get. But I am glad you had such a great time -- would have been nice to see Steven though..........

Last night's show was awesome! We had GA's and we were going to head to the Fleet Center in the morning for numbered wristbands but decided against it. We arrived at the Fleet around 6:15. We went to the GA line where we waited a couple of minutes to be let in. After we were checked by security we went up the stairs and we could hear people yelling with excitement b/c they were chosen to be in the ellipse/bomb shelter. I was so jealous b/c I never thought we'd be lucky enough to be chosen.

We got to a table where they gave us wristbands and then our tickets were scanned again for the ellipse bomb shelter. The 4 or 5 people in front of me had their tix scanned and the laptop screen told them to proceed to the floor. Next it was my turn and when the scanned my ticket the screen turned red and black with the vertigo symbols and we were in! I was in total shock. :faint: We got our ellipse wristband and off we went. It was amazing. The show was great, the crowd was great and U2 was wonderful! They played New Years Day, Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses and Party Girl! Bono was having so much fun especially towards the end, it almost as if they were just winging at the end b/c he forgot some of the words to party girl. It was very fun!

I tried to post pics but I they are too big and I'm not sure how to resize, I'll keep trying though.

Lucky lucky you--the bomb shelter AND Party Girl!!

We sure do love a great band, don't we? Still at the top of their game after 25 years. Can't wait to see what they do next!

Here's a pic of Bono from inside the bomb shelter last night!

Love these pics!! Thanks so much for sharing.

Yippee!!! Just bought lower bowl, row 14 seats to the Sep 14th show in Toronto! The section is about halfway down the arena from the stage, and only 14 rows up, so not bad at all! A U2 fan (on a fangroup) told me that the sound is awesome at the Air Canada Centre if you are anywhere closer than about row 20, so I'm really looking forward to it! I decided not to do GA becasue I just don't have the time or stamina. I'd rather have a seat I can leave anytime for potty or food breaks.

I bought the ticket on e-Bay from a seller that seemed pretty respectable - but there's always that risk, so please think good thoughts on my behalf that it arrives and is legit! Price was high, but not crazy high like what the resellers and scalpers are charging!

When I get that ticket in hand I am going to be sooooooo excited!

Congrats! You will have an amazing time. Be sure to report back to us!

In other very exciting news, a friend of mine has an extra seat for me for Boston in October. Not great seats, but still, if I'm there, I'm happy.

That's so great Bajanswife!!! I just knew something would turn up! Now, all we have to do is wait!! :hourglass
