Forgive me if someone has already done this but I couldn't find anything when I searched. I noticed on some of the other music threads that I'm not the only U2 fan out there so I wanted to make a thread for us fans to talk about U2 and the upcoming tour. So, I'll start...

Here's a little background...

Been a fan since the 80's. (started young since I'm only 28).
Favorite album is Joshua Tree followed very closely by Achtung Baby.
Favorite song is So Cruel.
I have been to 8 shows. Popmart & 3 Elevation (I was in the heart for 2 Elevations shows...and yes, it was freakin' amazing) and 4 Vertigo.
I am a former member of the U2 fan club Propaganda and now a memeber of U2.Com.

Ok, that's enough about me....now it's your turn...tell us your U2 background (if you want) and what shows your going to, if any???

:sad2: I shouldn't even respond to this thread because it is too depressing for me. I have been A U2 fan for 20 years, saw my first show April 15, 1985 at 15 (unforgettable fire tour at what was then Brendan Byrne arena). Have seen them 12x since then. Completely obssessed in HS, actually blew my prom money on tickets for the Joshua Tree tour (4X), thankfully grandma came through. Favorite album d Unforgettable Fire, followed closely by Joshua Tree. I was not able to get tickets for this tour, I am thinking of writing to Oprah hoping she can make my wildest dreams come true :rotfl2: (if not A am wondering If my kids can live on Mac and cheese for a month because the scalpers want a lot of money

Hi there Huey Duey & Luey,
I know what you mean about depressing...I was not able to get tickets thru the first presale...it was a nightmare!!! I did end up buying threw an agency and am now living on Mac N Cheese!! Luckily, I don't have any kids yet so not as big of deal for me but still hurts!! However, I saw you're in Jeresy...are you gonna try for MSG tickets for the new 3rd leg??

Hi,

I'm an avid longtime fan, since 1982 or 83, I think. I first got familiar with U2 back when Mtv played videos. I can't pick a favorite album, since they're all so good (although R&H is probably my least favorite despite some bright spots). Since I got my tickets, I've been playing all of them all the time, just switching them in and out of the changer and I'm struck all over again with how talented these guys are.

I've only been to one show before, on the ZooTV tour, but I'm also a member of U2.com and was one of the lucky ones able to get tickets during the presale. I'm going to Boston on 5/26 and cannot wait!! I didn't go for floor tickets because I'm short and not aggressive enough to get near the front(was nearly killed at REM show in October when people rushed the stage past my second row aisle seats). When I checked out of Ticketmaster, though, then and only then did the "WARNING, BEHIND THE STAGE" box come up. I had already paid at that point, and was aware of the horrific time Europeans were having even getting into the queue, so I just kept them. I don't think I'll be behind the stage, but more to the side, and should be able to see them when they're out on "the egg" this time. I'll be better able to tell after the first show, when the whole stage design is described.

huey duey and luey, don't despair. A third leg of the tour has been announced and I feel confident you will get tickets!! Probably not for $3, but you'll get them.

Oh, and Dizneyholic, I love your U2!! Where did you get it??

I LOVE U2! I've been a fan since I was in the 7th grade in the early 80's.I have seen them 3 times. Unfortunately, they have not scheduled any Cleveland shows as of yet.:guilty:

Don't give up if you couldn't get tickets. I know that with most shows, more tickets get released a few days before the concert. For the last U2 show, my friend got tickets very close to the stage (on the side) on the day of the concert.

I can't pick a favorite album. The only one I wasn't thrilled with was the one that the Pop Mart tour supported. My favorite song is "Where the Streets Have No Name". Love The Edge's guitar on that one.

Ok , I have been out of it this past week, please fill me in on the 3rd leg of the tour  thanks

I found it on one of the U2 fan boards. There is one site with nothing but U2 graphics on it but I don't know it off hand. Try searching by U2 and animated gif's or U2 clipart.

Thanks!

Don't feel too out of it Tara--they just announced the third leg yesterday.

Good luck tomorrow to those of you eligible for the presale. I can't participate since I already got tickets in the last one. Let me know how you make out.

Fan since 1984 or so. My very first concert EVER was the Joshua Tree tour in 1987 in the now gone JFK stadium in Philly.

Love Pride, I will follow, and 40. Trip through your wires is another favorite for me.

I am not a fan of the 90's U2. I personally don't like Achtung Baby or Rattle and Hum.

Thanks!! I'm crossing my fingers extra tight this time!! I was in tears when I couldn't even get access to Ticketmaster.Com after 2 hours during the last presale. I'm trying for the Nov 2nd, Los Angeles show.

Good luck to every one else and I'll report back tomorrow night.

:cheer2:

Thanks for posting the tour dates!! I see Cleveland is on the list for December!:cool1:

No problem!!

I'm glad their coming to LA again but I was really hoping to see them in Vegas!!! It could have been a mini vacation. :sunny:

Another U2 fan checking in here! I've loved them since I was young, early 80's. I'm a former Propaganda member (I miss those magazines) and I can't wait to see them in May! They truly are incredible live.

I was lucky enough to get tickets for the October show in Boston thru the pre-sale today. Was anyone else able to get tickets today?

I didn't get them today but I did get them in the last presale for 5/26 in Boston.

Congratulations!

Well, I got GA's for Madison Square Garden this morning. I'm still trying to get my LA tickets but having a "code" problem again!!! I've been on hold for about an hour now!!! :sad2:

I'm grateful to have gotten something but since I live in Cali, LA was my first choice!! Wish me luck, only a few hours of presale left!! :goodvibes

OK--no hating debster--I'm going in May, October AND December at the Fleet Center (oh, sorry, the TDBankNorth Garden :rotfl: ).

:cheer2: :cool1: <----because DS likes these

Been a fan more years than I care to remember (I still own a vinyl copy of BOY, and have not had a turntable for YEARS). Can't wait to see the show.

I have also been a fan since the early 80's. I have seen them 17 times so far and am hoping to get tickets for the first Toronto show and the Buffalo show. The pre-sale starts next Tuesday!! Can't wait!!!
