My secret packing is going really well. Everything is organized and that is so much further I normally am the even the day before the trip.

It is so much easier to organize yourself...even just figuring out "what to do today" is easier when you've just got yourself to worry about. I mean yes you have a friend, but she's worrying about HERself, and if you guys get to a point where you have different wants, there's still no need to worry, LOL. just split up or figure out a plan where everything can be done.
It's a lot different, mentally, to do this sort of trip than to have the family along. I remember the first solo one I took Jan '08, it was just freedom! (and I felt that I'd waited a long time for a solo trip, since E was 3.5 and I hadn't been away from him yet...but you win the prize!
