Just thought I'd let everyone know that I was surprised to find (at Blockbuster in NJ) a Disney movie called "Tower of Terror", starring Steve Guttenberg and Kirsten Dunst! It's obviously a Sunday night Disney movie on tape, but my kids (7, 8, & 8) loved it!

It's fun because we're going next month, and the cover shows the MGM park ride. It was filmed there, probably at least four to five years ago judging from the age of Kirsten Dunst. It was scary in a cheesy way, so I don't think anyone's kids over 4 or 5 would be scared.

It was a nice surprise to get us ready for the real ride. BTW, we rode it last year, and the whole movie is based on the "story" of the lost party and the elevator getting stuck. If I remember correctly, the elevator man (dressed exactly the same as the CM's) even says the same lines as they do when you enter the ride - hilarious!

We actually bought this movie about 3-4 years ago in the TOT giftshop. It was a nice souvenir for our kids, and they still pull it out from time to time to watch it again.:D

we saw this movie on tv before our last trip. It was fun to put a story behind the ride. My kids enjoyed it too.

We have this movie!! I couldn't even say where it came from. I think my mom bought if for the girls. They really like it a lot. It helped familiarize them with the whole concept of the ride which I think helped ease some anxiety for them when we went on it for the first time.

We bought ours at the TOT gift shop too. I bet the one from Bolockbuster was cheaper ;) But we have enjoyed watching it.

My girls love the movie, too! My youngest one enjoys creepin' me out, though, by goin' around singin', "It's raining, it's pouring..."

My kids, 4 and 10, love it too! We rented it from Blockbuster last spring. I actually found several copies for sale very cheap on Ebay, I may go back to bid on one.
I think it helped my four year old familiarize herself with the ghosts on the ride. She was able to ride with no problems, and even went on for a second time. Something my ten year old son wouldn't do!

I also own this movie. It's one of our favorite Halloween movies!

aong with the Sleepy Hollow section of Ichabod and Mr. Toad and Hocus Pocus.

Hocus Pocus is also one of our favorites!! We only have a not-so-good video copy from when it aired on the Disney Channel a few years back. I need to find it on DVD. My favorite part is when the witches go trick or treating and meet the devil and check out his "torture chamber". Too funny!!

My dh bought it for me a year or two ago on DVD, so I know it's available somewhere, just not sure where he bought it ...

The Tower of Terror movie is available on DVD thru Amazon. My DH wants it on DVD. We have it on VHS and he loves it. Next to "A Christmas Story" it is his favorite movie.

We'll be doing something and if it has to do with making money, its "Cha Ching".

I think this was one of the first movies made based on a Disney ride.

DH might get Tower of Terror DVD for Christmas this year. I just have to make sure he doesn't buy it himself.

I bought a copy of the TOT movie on dvd from Amazon about 6 weeks ago.

Disney.com has a video "club" - one of those get videos/DVDs free but you have to buy a certain number more within the next couple of years. The club has TOT on video and DVD.

I checked it out and decided it wasn't for us (I think 3 free and then you have to buy 6 more) but somebody might like it.

PS LOOK, LOOK!! LOOK AT MY COUNTER! Can't wait!
