OH

GOSH!
Together.......we swim together.......if we all join fins, everybody wins and we'll swim together in the open sea
Sometimes things look bad then POOF! the moment is gone and what do we do? We just keep swimming on
In the big blue world and all of it is waiting for me!
When you're raising sons and daughters, it's like surfing muddy waters...oooh.....oooh.....oooh......Go with the floooooooooooooooow!
LOVE THIS SHOW!!!
What is just so wonderful here in this tiny little site, in a teeny, tiny corner of the web, it that we have found other people as dedicated (as we thought only we could be) to Disney.
When I was looking at Cat's wonderful photos, I was overwhelmed with how someone else could get as much out of Disney World as I do!
Walking on Main Street makes me cry......so full of emotion (yes, and cinnamon rolls) and love of Disney it completely encompasses me! And today I found out, it does the same for all of YOU TOO!!!
Wow! My husband told me that it seems as though I have met some real friends here. THAT is unfathomable to me.....2 fold.....that he would even think that and that it is true.
After Andy's "proof" post the other day, I had to take a break. It was too emotional for me. I lost sight of all the good of the contest and really was devastated for those who didn't move on and the manner in which it was all handled. The lack of communication was horrific but having it verified so blantantly (again, with typos) and AFTER the fact sent me spinning! Even the 20 to 10ers were given more courtesy than that!
(DISgeeks......ANOTHER RANT ALERT
)
It all started with the insinuation from CB's 'oh so informative and timely' email that they had "decided" and "selected" and, well, you all remember. So came my initial rant.
But when Andy posted his email and then other's backed it up......typos and all.....oh my. I decided that I would investigate a bit further. I couldn't even respond or post to dear Andy or David or Meggin or anyone else.
I went back to CB's website, since that is the place I became so very familiar with after the very first website debacle of clock counting upwards, server slammed, eight hours to upload video, misrepresented requirements....etc. etc. etc.
I checked out the forums for such application issues. Again, spending almost all my time there the day of and days following the contest deadline. There were two people there who seemed to be handling our precious applications. After further investigation, one man was able to actually check to see if our applications had "gone through" and "were verified." His user name on that site is dre01ss. Don't know if it means anything to anyone else, but I found it very interesting that dre01ss lives in Atlanta. Another man involved, who called me the day after the deadline was Andrew Johnson.
I have my own personal (very opinionated) feelings about if the applicants affected by the initial website debacle were ever really considered for the position at all. Dre01ss did make every attempt to make the applicant's video status known (and we all were applicants if they are maintaining that this was a "job" that we were applying for and submitting a "video resume" and not just something that would be "cast").
As I progressed further into my investigation, I found sites for dre01ss and became more and more disheartened about this particular job search and CB in general. It stopped there. I could go on and on but have decided to go on and try and let it all go. I really (probably too deeply) feel for the Top 20 to 10ers who didn't make it and then again for the Top 10 to 3 who didn't progress. I have to believe that you people know how sincere I am about believing in you!
Casting - I know for sure that last year Disney was heavily involved in choosing the 20 finalists for each category. I'm sure they did that as well this year. They outlined what they were looking for in the videos each year. It is a casting call. They are looking for a cast member - a real one this year that will be paid for appearances. Disney jobs are cast members who portray a role from the custodian to the singer. I was happy to see that they removed their weighting in the choices beyond the 10.
In the intrest of fairness here's some details about dre01SS...
24 lives in Lawrenceville, Georgia and "works for a .com" He appears to be interested in motorcycles, muscle cars, body building and girls
The name seems to stem from Dre who drives an 01 Camaro SS.
His photobucket proves that he is indeed the guy who connects to CB under the same name.

that's just a few
I'm not terribly sure what that proves about the contest though. That someone lives in GA doesn't imply that he chose someone. He was only responsible to make sure they had received the videos. There was a different guy in charge of that last year. Atlanta is probably the internet hosting site for CB. CB is actually HQd in Chicago. Centra is HQd in New York.
I agree that sending a slightly changed, re-used email is inexcusable and tacky in my opinion. I doubt that they expected that the 20 and the 10 would be comparing emails. I haven't attempted to confirm it, but I do believe it was public voting, not choosing. (I'll send an email and see if we get a response). I know the web is full of conspiracy theories right now especially concerning how one candidate didn't make it. I think people are attracted to that type of stuff. It happened last year and again this year in this popularity contest of sorts. Some are upset with the style of voting. Guys, we need to remember that those were the rules when each person entered. If we disliked the style of voting for example, we shouldn't have entered.
I know that Justin and Tripp each have huge bases of support behind them and each worked the internet and had their friends doing that as well. Tripp was not allowed to use his microphone to promote his candidacy either. Justin's church is a tremendous benefit. I tapped all my church connections (brothers and sisters I'd prefer though) and asked them to help. They were rabid voters for me. I'd assume that with 500,000 total votes, each would need only about 75,000-80,000 to be a shoe-in. Last year I had more than 80,000 CB views for my video for example.
Each contacted me several times via email during the 1st phase for tips/advice, I shared with anyone who had questions. I'm proud of them and the hard work they've put into the contest. I look forward to meeting all three and getting to know David better as well.
