Well, since it seems to be a peacefully quiet night in the new house --- and since I could never top a Fleagle-based Herman Hermits story - - - I'm off to bed.

Have a great night!

Meggin: You're such a class act! We're so glad that you've joined us! :grouphug:

wow, if my other friends find out you called me classy....let's just say some college stories need to stay hidden...

So, if you want to participate, just post what city you're in and I'll map it out and send everyone a copy. You don't have to be too specific if you don't want to. A general area would be fine just as long it's something I could map.

You can post your info, pm it to me or email it to me at madbrad76@cathie1.com. Which ever you feel comfortable with.

ooh, fun!! well, my mailing address is kissimmee, fl, but i'm closer to ak's backyard than kissimmee....

Meggin - You are a CMO!!! It doesn't take official designation - your spirit, kindness, great imagination, incredible energy and what you do with them are what count. I'm sad that you don't have the opportunity to play in the big Disney playground in an official way, but you live the dream every day.:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

this was MUCH appreciated! i really am going to try and continue my random acts of kindness on a larger scale than i have before--it could be a fun anniversary for me every year to have a full day dedicated to driving around town surprising strangers with gifts. i can't pretend it's totally altruistic--i get a lot of enjoyment out of seeing the looks on people's faces..

cat--i see you in a few hours, hooray!! and i'll have my fleagle pin, too!! i kept it in with my pixie dust throughout the contest--it has special meaning to me (as it does to many people here), and it had its own magic to mix with the pixie dust. people never knew what hit them.....perhaps i should have remembered to keep the clasp closed...

hee hee. j/k, of course. not about keeping the pin with the pixie dust, just about maiming strangers. of course, i probably didn't need to qualify that. it's just late....

meggin's sleepy...

and punch drunk...

zzzzzzzzzzz.....

see you all soon!

love,
meggin

Alright, folks: I thought I’d share the sordid details of a little “incident” that happened at our house last weekend. (Let me precede this by saying that I’m sure any parents out there will appreciate the scenario.) The DISgeeks family was prepping for a little field-trip into the city, and -- in the process of carrying two kids and arm-loads of snacks, juice boxes, books, beloved blankies, and stuffed animals out to the car -- we accidentally dropped a few. What’s worse, we actually drove off with several of them still sitting in the driveway, and – halfway into the street – we realized they got smashed. :scared1:

Oops! (The Birth of Skinny Minnie...)

Oh, man… I … I … I can’t even post any more photos of the gruesome accident scene. :sad2: They’re just that grisly! ;)

Anyway, in an effort to teach our kids resilience, we decided to peel their newly flattened “friends” off of the driveway, dust them off a bit, and – in the spirit of the Flat Stanley Project – trek them around town for some fun photo ops. Hence, “Project Miniature Mickey/Skinny Minnie” (Project MM/SM) was born! We then got to thinking, “Hey! Why not include our DISboard friends in the fun!”

Sooooo… Keep an eye out! Any day now, Skinny Minnie (or Miniature Mickey) could be coming to a mailbox near you!

Game Rules: (“Tag! You’re it!”)

If you’re the recipient of one of our flattened friends from the Fab Five:
1. Snap (and post) a few photos with the character taken at home, work or out-and-about town.
2. Pick a person from our DISnee Resort family, who you think should receive it next.
3. Contact your chosen person, then mail him/her a package with Skinny Minnie or Miniature Mickey enclosed. (When contacted, you can always feel free to decline if this game is not your "style." ::yes:: )
4. Be creative! HAVE FUN!

Oh, and stay “tooned” for the debut of Dinky Donald, who (hopefully!) will be around downtown D.C. this weekend for the National Cherry Blossom Festival!

Oh, and btw: "Project Miniature Mickey/Skinny Minnie" (Project MM/SM) has absolutely nothing to do with that “special event” I referenced earlier today. ‘Still waiting to hear back from Cat and Madbrad on that!

Awesome! Flat Stanley has been to many a dance classes with my students so we're completely familiar with the project! However, so sad that you had the accident in the driveway....too bad. :sad2:
We're game! ;)

ToTheSea Are You OK?

I woke up to hear a tornado hit in your home town (I think). Eric immediately said, "that's where ToTheSea lives".......so are you all right? Please post and let us know! Very concerned!

No problem!

I actually got the confirmation on our flights today, so things are moving forward!

OH, here's a good question for all the technologically gifted members of this board: I'm thinking it's about time to buy a video camera. Yes, that's right, I entered the CMO contest and don't even own a camera. SO, I took a little trip to Best Buy the other day and realized that my understanding of video cameras is a little bit outdated. What do you guys use? Keep in mind, price is an issue!

This is what we have..... the brand is good, quality is good, and we've had NO problems with it at all. Downloaded our CMO video right to the computer very easily. ;)

I'm sure you can shop around, but at least it gives you an idea.

Cat -- love the Tigger pictures

DisGeeks -- can't wait to play! We just got Flat Stanley from my nephew last week!

We also had severe weather and a couple of tornados in the area. All is ok in Abilene, but some damage around in smaller communities in the "Big Country" as we call it around here.

Yes, just fine here...heading out right now. Apparently there were about 14 tornado warnings...didn't even hear a siren though--yikes!

Thanks for thinking of me!!! :flower3:

This sounds like so much fun!

Have a truly magical time! Staying at the Contemporary is never a bad thing! Plus a VIP viewing of WIshes! Actually - are you speaking of Monday the 21st? As I'm attempting to lay out a basic outline of how to spend the free time we do have, I'm currently thinking about finishing up Monday at the Magic Kingdom so that our last night there can finish with Wishes. SO, even if I have no idea who you are and am not important enough to be in your VIP section, at least we'll know we're watching the same show! :)

Hogwash! We are all VIP's!!!

Yes, Monday the 21st. Does anyone else cry while watching wishes?

We usually get a place to stand right behind VIP at the Train Station and get great video footage that way and don't have to fight the crowd.

No problem!

I have a JVC Everio 30GB GZ-MG77U Hard Drive Disc Camcorder. For a camera that is a couple years old it really does a great job. It films in standard and widescreen setttings. No need for tapes, but I bought a backup hard drive to store everything on. It also takes still pics. I carry it with our tripod in my backpack and get it when I need it.

Pros...Small and lightweight. Nice size video screen and easy to use.
Con...If you get a hard drive camera, you can't use it to videotape roller coasters or dropping rides.
