I am even more disheartened than before. David THAT was the first contact that you have had with them since the end of voting?????

I, honestly, am at a loss for words..........odd for me yes.......my jaw is literally on the floor.

Hey mom.... DH and I are doing ok.... I think just processing the days emotions. The surprising thing is, MIL is very calm about the whole situation, granted she used to be a nurse so nothing really shocks her..... but still. She is being very matter-of-fact and straight forward.

First things first . . . HMF . . . you, your family, your mother-in-law, your DH are all in my prayers. I'll certainly be thinking about you guys as you grapple with this news.

Thanks, Ann & David! I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one who thought the wording of today's email was a bit "interesting" (especially since we thought the number of votes determined it all). From the very beginning, I've actually felt basing the entire contest solely on votes was a little strange; so I'm almost relieved to hear that they took some other factors into consideration (and as sad as I am not to have advanced...I think they made three excellent choices)! In hindsight, however (if votes really weren't the deciding factor), I wish I hadn't been such a "voting solicitor pest" to my friends and family. Dedicating every waking moment of your life to promoting something (for weeks on end) can turn out to be, well, "annoying" to many folks (I'm sure everyone in the Top 10 TOTALLY understands where I'm coming from here)! In any event, it would be nice to get some free Mouse Ears or something for all the free PR and hard work on the campaign trail! Maybe I'll make a t-shirt that says "I campaigned for CMO and all I got was this T-shirt (& not even from the sponsors)." Anyone interested? Hee Hee. Seriously, it was a super FUN contest and I'm just happy I got to be a part of it. I'm sure the folks behind the scenes will learn from the experiences from year to year and it will just keep getting better and better!

On another note...I've been wanting to say something (so bad), but couldn't until the Top 3 were announced because I didn't want to draw "negative" attention to my campaign (but it's really funny). Anyway, I was interviewed by The Denver Post and they did a really nice article about me and my quest for Disney CMO. The reporter was great (I really liked her); however, she made a couple of comments about not caring for the "commercialization" of Disney and asked me a lot of questions about how friends and family handled me being in my late 30's...being such a Disney "freak" and all. She was also very surprised that my home wasn't covered with Mickey collectibles. I explained that my favorite Disney "souveniers" are the vacations, trip memories, the music and the movies. She later called my husband (an engineer with an architectural background who absolutely despises any type of clutter in the house) mentioning how she expected our home to be a "shrine" to Disney -- shelves and shelves of snowglobes, thimbles, figurines, etc. The man who was so happy to see me sell off my childhood doll collection at a recent garage sale replied, "Thank God she's not one of those nuts who collects everything." He meant this in a general sense, however, his quote was not only PUBLISHED but also used in the VERY SAME SENTENCE of the article as "Disney Pin Collecting!" Needless to say...I didn't speak to Mr. Dunkin for several days.

Finally...I mentioned earlier that I indulged in an AMAZING makeover during our recent Spring Break vacation (THANKS CAT) !!! Whadd'ya'll think??? Not to start another Y'ALL vs. YA'LL debate. Hee hee!

I can't believe they waited until 3:30pm EDT to tell the other 7, after the news had been announced just after midnight. I agree with some of you that things have been done pretty unprofessionally.

I know what you mean. My next door neighors were so embarassed for Careerbuilder.com because I hadn't gotten an email and had to find out I was cut by logging on to the dreamcmo.com website and seeing the Top 3 list this morning.

Everybody talks about how callous and despicable Hollywood agents are out here, but I have to tell you, at least they have the decency to tell you "if you don't hear from us by Wednesday, you didn't get the role." We don't find out by watching the TV show that somebody else got cast.
