Interesting too that the decision was tough....seems to me it should be easy. Math is exact.....voting is math, right? :confused3

Didn't they count the votes in Florida? I'm thinking that there have been problems with vote counting in Florida in the past . Although I might be wrong. I'm not politically active, just remember reading something, somewhere about grads, dads, fads...oh wait, I think it was chads. Yep, that's right, chads. Hmmmmm.

Of course now that I think about it..... Disney IS in Florida and as I recall they've had issues in the past with votes not counting? ;)

That's what I get for not catching up on the whole thread before posting. Mrs. F, you and I think alike!

OK, this cheer is done like the classic "Let's Go" cheer from high school

CHEERLEADERS READY!!!!!!!!!

:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:
Vote Tripp!
Vote Tripp!
Vote Tripp for CMO!
Vote Tripp for CMO!
Vote Tripp!
:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Too much? Well, I don't have a lot in the campaign funds right now and they are doing this for free. You take what you can get...ya know?

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

You know, I don't think I have ever heard Tripp mention anything on the radio about this, do you think that's a Star rule, or CMO rule? Maybe he could just casually slip it in there that he's going back down to DW and why...I think it could help his campaign!! Those funds are really tight!!

I see how it is! Bring out the campaign idea and my candidate signs off. Do you think I scared him off? :lmao:

He never has. I think he explained that he didn't have the stations permission or something...I missed it when he explained it in the thread.

I was on hold for the Morning Mess "What did you learn today" segment at the end of the show. I was going to bust out the news...but they didn't end up doing anything on air (not sure why)...DARN IT!!!!

Maybe tomorrow. You can try too. Maybe we'll both get on. :)

 Great idea!!

They do it live...although there is a 7 second delay in the broadcast...just hoping I am faster getting out the news than they are at pressing the "dump" button. :)

Did you catch the photo I posted for the Tripp photo biography I am putting together?

Whew, that was a LOT of stuff to read through since this morning. Yes, Disgeeks (I think you're the one that asked) I did vote for CMO a few times. By the last week of the competition, I'd gotten over the pain and bitter anguish of not being in the top 10. By then I'd booked our Disneyland trip and was getting excited for that!--Only 4 more days til we leave!

Speaking of which, I'm excited to meet Amy (Fairy Godmother) at California Adventure--maybe we can meet one more non-top 3 winner and have our own competition--I suggest an animation contest in the Sorceror's Workshop!

OK, maybe not--that might get out of hand, and my family has rides to ride--my daughter's agreed to ride California Screamin' wither her mother (you'd never get me on there!) and my oldest son agreed to go on Indiana Jones Ride with me!

Hi Andy...I didn't get an opportunity to talk to you early in the competition since I found this site a little late in the voting. I just wanted to express just how talented I think you are and what a great video you had with the animation mixed with live action. Your avatars are exceptionally well done too.

I use to live in California when I was growing up and loved to go to Disneyland. It has been a very long time since I have been there since I am on the east coast now, but can you have a little extra fun for me while you are there? :)

For those of you detail oriented-

"Tough decision", so the vote apparently wasn't the deal! I guess!!

Dearest David........this email is one horrible excuse for followup from a placement agency. Marketing or not. They had to send out SEVEN emails like this....SEVEN! IF they reused the email they sent the 20 to 10 contestants, well, that is INEXCUSABLE!

They had their out......all they had to write was it was simply based on votes.....bla bla bla.....or there were over 500,000 votes and unfortunately bla bla bla.....

To include the words "decision" and "determine" and then "selected" bothers me beyond words.

At the risk of having you repeat yourself, did you say when you received this email????

I was talking to my husband about this very issue today (regarding placement agencies and headhunting). Career Builders had over 1300 potential employees to place.......A CAPTIVE AUDIENCE OF OVER THIRTEEN HUNDRED PEOPLE!!! All were applying for a job. Now only three are eligible for that job. I wonder how many of the more than 1,297 remaining applicants are still interested in having Career Builder's help them?!

When I sold "people" to companies, I was only as good as the potential employees I represented. No matter how good a salesperson I was to get the job order (position or contract), I had to interview and pre-screen and KNOW that I had the best applicant to present for the job. It was my job to identify talent. No better way to do that then to secure a large applicant pool to represent. Small applicant base, obviously a lower percentage of good fits so to speak. So again, I was only as good as the people who wanted me to go to work for them!

I am so troubled by your email David. You deserved much, much more from them for the potential that you brought to their company alone. Notice I am not placing the responsibility on Disney? They hired Career Builders, they went to the professional in hiring. Hmmm.......especially after reading about the followup email.......I would not feel confident having them represent me at this point.

Same feeling for the website. If you hire IT Professionals then prove that you have them.....make your site work. Hear this loud and clear, THE VERY SAME 1300 APPLICANTS COULD ALSO POTENTIALLY BE 1300 EMPLOYERS WHO NEED TO FEEL CONFIDENT ABOUT THE PLACEMENT AGENCY THEY USE!!! See how that works??? They need to use the captive audience they have and tap into ALL the potential we possess!!!

As Nemo said, "I AM READY!" Please call me Career Builders, I would love to see you make this right for the contestants who didn't advance with this job opportunity.....because honestly, you never know where your next JOB ORDER or who your next potential EMPLOYEE will be!

David, hope you can read through the lines, I come off as so very subtle! Love you!!!!! Ann(ie)

Ann -- I'm so glad you are so passionate! I love your emails -- they make me laugh -- they make me say "right on sister!" -- they make me say, "Huh? Missed that one..." but they are always energetic!

Keep it up! :goodvibes

Now you made me laugh......loved the 'always energentic'.....I will take that, it is way better than 'always psychotic' :rotfl2:

Back in the earlier days of radio.. but still pretty recent, record companies would pay for DJs to play their artists music. Being a DJ in a big, important like Atlanta could be very lucrative in those days. For instance, in a recent scandal, record execs were calling DJs and asking them how many "CDs" of a certain record they needed. This was code for "How many $100 bills will it take to get you to play my artist's record on your station"

This is called "payola" and its now outlawed. The other thing that is banned is called "plugola" which is pretty much the same thing, but involves on-air mentions of products. Most radio and television companies require employees to sign a "Payola and Plugola" affadavit each year. This is to try and ensure that the DJs aren't using the airwaves to advertise companies that are not paying for the airtime.

So... Tripp can't talk about the contest on the air, because Disney has not paid for those mentions.

Hey - I'm here - just got home from a long day at work. I have alot of work left to do, before I can even think about packing! (At least I did my laundry yesterday!)

Anyway, I'm just going to stayed logged on, and check out what's going on once in awhile. Can't stop for a lot of posting tonight - last night was fun - but I didn't do anything else.

If you want me to answer - better pm or email me!

I'll start getting excited about my trip after finishing these dumb ol' reports!!
