Dear Haunted,

I just wanted to post here again as I fear my intial post responding to you might have been missed...my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family and this, most certainly, is a perfect place to post! :grouphug:

Since I have been posting other inane things here as well, I wanted you to know that I mean no disrespect to your mother-in-law's news.

My thoughts and prayers continue to be with all of your family and this is just a huge reminder of what is truly important in life. :grouphug:

Most sincerely, Ann

I did see your first post.... and no disrepect at all. Thank you so much for the kind words!

"Tough decision", so the vote apparently wasn't the deal! I guess!!

I didn't realize Tripp posted here until I read his blog this morning! I read his blog profile a while ago, and saw that he was such a huge Disney fan and asked him for some advice planning my first trip there - and he's been so great with ideas and suggestions!!

Let me know what you need me to do to increase his vote! Should I make polling calls, buttons, t-shirts....OH! I got it!!!

"It's 3AM in the Magic Kingdom, and the phone rings...." :rotfl2:

All of the above.

We need to canvas the malls and the Disney Stores...gather the TRIPPS...err...I mean TROOPS!

Thanks for forwarding this!

Hmmmmm...... (Well, that definitely adds an interesting "wrinkle" to the whole process.) I still would like to believe that things are on the "up-and-up," though! ...Maybe they simply made an unfortunate word-choice error??? (Does that make me incredibly naive? )

Gee, thanks for sharing such a personal moment. So sorry you received this particular letter/email. Interesting too that the decision was tough....seems to me it should be easy. Math is exact.....voting is math, right? :confused3

I'm sure they do sincerely appreciate you and the other entrants. Chin up Mr. Autopia, smile that smile, love on that grandbaby, and join us in our own Pity Party in the car. (Gee, this car is getting kind of full. ;) )

I've just received word from a Disney representative that the CMO announcement will be going on at the same time as the Animal Kingdom rededication ceremony, first thing in the morning for both. So, it'll be impossible to attend both.

She also said that the CMO announcement would be shown live on DreamCMO.com, which is good news for all of you that can't make it to WDW to see it in person!

Now I just have to decide which ceremony I'll be going to.

Of course now that I think about it..... Disney IS in Florida and as I recall they've had issues in the past with votes not counting? ;)

AM I THE ONLY ONE FREAKING OUT ABOUT THE WORD "TOUGH DECISION" IN MR. AUTOPIA'S THANKS FOR PLAYING EMAIL? CB, WHAT ARE YOU THINKING! ATTENTION TO DETAIL PEOPLE! FOR GOODNESS SAKE!

Total frustration! Must go skate off my fury!

Bummer [for you]! 'Sorry about that! :(

It's great to hear that we will be able to watch it live, though. (How cool is that?)

Thanks, Ricky, for the update!

Something does sound "hinky" about that doesn't it? According to the site it was about the vote.

Did this email come from Ellen by chance?

Don't you think someone could have scheduled two very important ceremonies a few hours apart? Uggh. Just hire me to run the contest next time and we'll get it all done correctly for a change!

I think the wording of Mr. Autopia's "Thanks but no thanks" letter is the same as the one I got for tying for 11th. The "tough decision" made sense there, but certainly not where it is just supposed to be votes.

So... either they just used the old letter and changed "Top 10" to "Top 3" or it is a slip which indicates that they just picked the people they wanted to pick. As with most contests, they had the option to alter the rules at any time. So if it looked to them like there were any Shenanigans, they were within their rules to do whatever they wanted.

My guess is that they just used the same email, and made one small change without taking the time to make sure it made sense.

Either way, a little tough to swallow I'm sure.

I hope that all of you who tied for 4th feel the way I did when I got that email. I had a very strong feeling that I hadn't made it, so the email was actually a relief. I went to the gym and ran 5 miles and then I felt better. (I usually only ran two... so feeling better was emotional, not physical)

Congratulations to the Middle 7, and to the Top 3! You should all be very proud!

I'm wondering if there was a tie:
" In the event of a tie, the tied "Top 10" Finalists will be re-judged by an additional judge selected by CareerBuilder.com who will conduct a telephone interview with the tied "Top 10" Finalists. "

The rules specifically state that the judging of the finalists is determined by online votes, unless there is a tie. Were any of the finalists interview by phone recently?

I think different days would have been a good idea. After the rededication, there's a very large unofficial gathering going on at Animal Kingdom on April 22 in celebration of its 10th anniversary. The folks attending that gathering wouldn't want to leave to go to the Magic Kingdom to watch the CMO announcement and then return to AK to celebrate.

If the CMO announcement were on the 21st or 23rd, everyone could enjoy both.

My guess is that Disney doesn't want the CMO announcement to be a big deal in person... to not interfere with the daily activities of the park. It's going to be a quick ceremony in the morning, when hardly anyone is there (and most people are running to their favorite attractions), and then it'll be over and done with so that the Magic Kingdom can resume its normal daily activity. Just my opinion there.

No... That sentence gives me a funny feeling, too!

'Wonder what the "Thanks for playing" e-mail said to the "Top 20" folks who never made it past the second round. (Did fleagle even receive on of those?) I wonder if someone simply "recycled" a lot of boiler-plate language between the two and got a bit sloppy in the process...

Regardless, if that is the case, I'd like to think that -- after all of the hours of effort these semifinalists poured into the process -- the Sponsors could have crafted a better letter. (Sheesh! I'm getting a bit cranky here... I think I need a nap! )

If I recall correctly, the first and second-round rejection letters for the Disney Moms Panel shared a lot of similarities, so it's not unthinkable that the same thing happened in this contest as well.
