Oh, wait! .... Please tell me I'm not missing some sort of double-entendre here!

(*DISgeeks hastily exits the thread with her dignity still intact...*)

No worries...just the same kind of reastion you'd get from SpongeBob if you said anything negative about a Krabby Patty. :happytv:

Whew! (*DISgeeks heaves a big sigh of relief!*) :scared:

I haven't watched much SpongeBob, so I'm not "in the know," 'ya know?! ;)

NostaDISmus! Not sure if I mentioned, I just love all the thought and creativity that went into your predictions! Wonderful!!

Tripp - great video!! So glad to see you advance!

One of my few funny Disney stories. We were at DW MK in 1991 and we walked into the general store there near the entrance and we noticed a large group of people in suits walking through the store. Then I saw him, Michael Jackson. I thought it was an impersonator since we were in the land of costumes and characters. But, as I followed them out the door, it really was Michael Jackson and Macauley Culkin. They eventually ended up at the jewelry store 1/2 the way down Main Street, and the doors were locked behind them and a large crowd gathered at the windows. They eventually exited via the tunnel as word spread he was there...

Michael Jackson and Macaulay Culkin!? :scared1: Things started to go really downhill for Jackson around then...
(Actually, I'm thinking you might even be able to trace it back to that whole "hair-on-fire" incident on the set of his Pepsi commercial ... :scared1: I was in elementary school at the time, btw.)

Article: "1984: Michael Jackson burned in Pepsi ad"

I guess it's wrong to make light of the situation, but his life -- at times -- has seemed like one big circus side-show! :sad2:

That said: I've always thought his music videos were brilliant!

Wow! (...Now where did that "rant" come from?? :confused3 ) As a closet "rubbernecker," I guess I'm a bit of a celebrity-watcher as well! :rolleyes1

Nice! What a celeb to run into!

A trip or two ago (can't remember which) but we were at MGM Studios at the time and we saw some hullabaloo in front of Mickey's hat....ran to see what it was and it was Ty Pennington with his megaphone calling out for the Ramirez Family! He was doing some out-takes for the Extreme Home Makeover Edition show. Super cool....I was totally into Trading Spaces in the beginning and it was neat to see him. Apparently Eric looked like an old buddy of his from high school so when he saw us watching he came over after the take was over. Talked for a bit (Eric did not go to school with him) but then he was so nice and took us to get ice-cream. :mickeybar By then a crowd was gathering and he had to head off, but he was as nice as could be.

So your celeb certainly trumps mine!

Ok, must come clean.....we only SAW him doing the out-takes, he didn't really come over to us.....just kidding with you. ;)

O.K., so in honor of Tripp making it to the Top 3...I decided to put a photo biography together. It may take some time and creativity to get through the Disney security guards that are currently assigned to him, so I will post as I am able to do so.

Here was a photo I obtained that I like to call:

"The One That Got Away...Thank Goodness" (I am sure Mrs. Trippy is happy about it too.)

P.S. Any other Top 3'ers that wish to have a similar biography done please send a photo for me to use. :)

What was funny about MJ was that he was wearing red and black and was not in any way trying to blend in with us tourist folks. He was there to do some shopping I guess, as teh jewelry store CM said he pointed and they boxed it up for him. He was still pretty "normal" (for MJ) at that time, but a huge celebrity due to Thriller. I think Captain EO was at EPCOT at that time too. I did get a photo from behind him as they crossed the street, just after we decided that it really was him and before the crowd knew he was there.

HA! Now that's what I'm talking about... Great "improv" writing! ;)

And here I was about to congratulate you and assure you that your luck is much better than you think! (I have to add, though, making that lifelong (CM) friend during a pin-trade at Disney is pretty cool, so your luck can't be as bad as you say! :thumbsup2 )

Yes, most of "reality tv" is done over and staged, even if it's just recreating things that really do happen, but the camera and microphone didn't pick it up just right. My one experience with "reality tv" was enlightening and gave me a new perspective that I watch the shows with now. I love picking out the parts where the voices are dubbed in etc. Kinda lurking there too I guess!

Oh, yeah! I forgot about Captain EO!

Well....our luck is still pretty poor...but I'm always hopeful! :)

You and I are going to be really good friends...I can tell.

Where have you been? I am looking for a co-PR person. :)

I didn't realize Tripp posted here until I read his blog this morning! I read his blog profile a while ago, and saw that he was such a huge Disney fan and asked him for some advice planning my first trip there - and he's been so great with ideas and suggestions!!

Let me know what you need me to do to increase his vote! Should I make polling calls, buttons, t-shirts....OH! I got it!!!

"It's 3AM in the Magic Kingdom, and the phone rings...." :rotfl2:

This is quite on-topic here because pretty much all of what you saw in our "wrap-up" videos from last year's Dream Job contest was staged as well. We were first introduced to the notion of takes and re-takes as we each had to grab our costumes from the costuming woman several times before we got it "right". This went on throughout the weekend as we were often told where to go, who to talk to, and sometimes even what to say. Fortunately, they didn't use the part where they asked us to "pretend" that we didn't know our lines and that we were "practicing".

Kenny! Thank you for posting all of that! I know you only share what you can, when you can, and I'm sorry for making that hard at times. A Pirate who actually keeps to a code is, I'm sure hard to find. pirate: I don't really go looking for them, so my expertise on that is limited. ;) But I bet it's true! I hope you guys have an awesome time meeting everyone at Disney World! Wish I could be there too, but for now, you'll have to remain the representative of the plains on the street of main!
/QUOTE]

Thanks!

1. Oh! How fun, Kenny! Kudos to you for spearheading this! (And, I have to admit, I'm a little bit jealous... :rolleyes1 ) Please post plenty of pictures and send a "virtual" scoop of ice cream our way! ... Hold the whipped topping, please! ;)

2. Wow! That's actually a bit creepy...

3. So, he's a great big Mouse fan just like the rest of us. (That bio sort of humanizes him, a bit! ;) 'Not that I had any "issues" with Brady, but reporters can sometimes get a bum rap!) 'Nice way to parlay his love of Disney into a legitimate wage-earning job, though. Again, I think I'm a bit jealous ... ;)

Oh, and careful, KTP! I hear those In N Out Burgers are full of artery-clogging goodness. I've never tried one myself, though...

How about video too?

Eat the burger and walk the park riding rides and no weight gain!

That sounds like a blast!!! I hope y'all will take lots of pictures to share with us!

That's so awesome! Congratulations!

I'm sure it will be a blast, each of these guys have a great personality.

Ahh, the memories are coming back now. In case you are wondering exactly what wrap-up videos Ricky is referring to:

Hey guys! Sorry, can't stay long. My work computer is REALLY unreliable today (Tripp, did you send me something???) :) So I stopped at the local library to check my email. Of course, I couldn't resist the urge to pop in here and say hello!

Hope you are all having a wonderful day! I'll try to get home from work early enough tonight to chat it up for a bit!

See you soon!

(oh - - - and I'm sure I missed a lot of good stuff in the 10 or so pages I have to catch up on - which will likely be 20 or more by the time I get home! Be patient, I'll get to as much of it as I can!)

Love ya guys!

WOW! Thanks madbrad (and Cat) for another great evening (or in my case, day after the evening) of fun and togetherness, and for the fabulous assignment and card. I'm totally honored!

HMF - Please keep us posted and know there are always lots of :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: here for you.

Congratulations to Justin, Tripp and David!!!!! We can't wait to hear all about your experiences. Take lots of pictures at your Beaches and Cream meet with Megan, Kenny and Ricky.

Hugs and love to Patrick, Megan, David W., Amy Kate and Karrie (and also again to Andy and Eric!!) I wish the CMO could appoint a Cabinet - you all have so much to offer.

Amy Kate - Yahoo! on your potential book deal. Please let us know if it progresses.

I know there's more, but I have to unpack and clean up so I can be ready for skee-ball, skating and swimming!
