The Top Gear Discussion Thread

REMINDER: The Top Gear Repeat is on Tonight at 7.00. :thumbsup2 Might watch it myself. :)

Also, Top Gear Magazine is Out Now, which has more on the you-know-what and an interview with the man himself.. They say a full interview but didn't they already do that in the Mirror? Oh well, I am still going to knick my brother's mag and read anyway!!!

Still trying to get the thought out of my head; struggling a bit.. Sad thing is, there is no-one really to vent to. I can't exactly go to a special ward saying "I have Post-trumatic stress over Richard Hammond" now can I?. :rotfl: I think it's probably due to the same reasons as Hamster said; "It's a bit boring".

I just hope I can forget this eventually... :sad1: I suppose it's not the incident but more the shock. The Shock of the news; the shock of not knowing much about it; the worry of him (and Touch wood this NEVER happens!!) dieing etc. etc. But, I do suppose now he's back I can tell myself that he's alright. Might take awhile though.

Two things for the Discussion:

1) Was the crash Hamster's Fault?? I say this since Sky News has an article on the same thing: http://www.sky.com/skynews/article/0,,70131-13565106,00.html

Okay 3 things..

A) The crew there didn't change the tyres before he went, so naturally it must be THEIR fault right??

B) If you don't touch the brakes WHAT THE HECK ARE THEY DOING THERE IN THE CAR!!! Sorry for the shouting but this person doesn't seem to think things through does he??

C) And Finally, in the given conditions, What Who He Do??

If you ask me he is just trying to make sure to save his own rear end by pushing the blame elsewhere...

and 2) Did anyone actually do the hard quiz??? I suck and only get past the first 3 by guessing the names of the cars and hoping for the best!!!! :rotfl2:

Perhaps someone will do it one day.. ;)

REMINDER: The new episode of Top Gear is on tonight. :)

Also don't forget that James May thing I mentioned before a couple of posts back if you get bored today.

I can only hope that you watched the programme despite the reminders I sent...

I forgot about the James May thing but oh well; not like anyone else did go to listen to it.. ;) But I did watch Top Gear, and I disliked it. Too much cars; not enough fun! Haven't they realise that we Non-car likers are the ones that made the programme so popular!!

I think they are going to get in trouble, again.. Not only did they mention kinda inapproprieate things, again (the whole driver that liked the car.. too much..) they also managed to say 3 swear words without them bleeping it! Won't tell you what they were do to the rules of the DIS, but come on! Not even watershed period, how did they get away with it!

The Veyron was kinda cool. But in all honesty, who cares? Yeah, it's fast but it's not like we can go out and buy the thing; let alone drive that fast anyway! :confused3

What was the point in the golf thing? It had nothing to do with anything at all!! The art gallery was also a bit pointless. Why not do something interesting with those cars instead?! Like the many other "Oh this car is best" episodes where they think of interesting things to go and prove that thier car is the best. Come on BBC, think!!!

Hugh Grant was annoying... Then again he's like that anyway so I can't blame Top Gear. I can only hope they bring someone cool on next week. Come on; Bring on David Tennant!! You know he's good!!

Well... I say that forgetting it's a special next week... Looked it up and they say it's an America special.. They are trying to prove that you can have more fun on a Fly-drive holiday by buying a car then by renting one.. Now that sounds interesting!!! :teeth:

I wish that Celeb Big Brother had finished tonight; I would of gladly watched that instead!!! :rotfl2:

I liked it, apart from hugh grant.
DBF almost brought the mazda RX8 last year.

I agree Matt, I thought the show was rather boring, the only bit I liked was Hugh Grant and I'm not a big fan of his :)

I am a big fan, not necessarily because I like cars.

To be honest so far have been slightly dissapointed, mainly because the things I really like about the show are the wacky things they do like racing across Europe - I though the review of the 3 sports cars last night was a bit dull.
Next week's does sound a bit special though.

I cant believe even after all these reminders, I forgot to see this, doh!

Just remembered.. Weren't they supposed to make some Train Documentary??? Or Did I phase out from boredom..

Also, Found out that a Doctor Who Star is going to be in Top Gear at some point. Guess which one...

I agree, it's hilarious :lmao:

They looked like they had soooo much fun on that trip, and I was - :happytv:

Good grief, how shocking was New Orleans ?? I can't believe that it still looks like that - it is very sad

But apart from that, it was a great show

<Rant mode on>
yet another Anti-American rasict piece of rubbish from those pathetic idiots on Top Gear.
How about if some Americans came over here and drove through parts of London with anto gay, anti balck crap on their cars, would that be funny? no.

How many gun crimes do we have in our civilised UK? How many of you would walk though certain parts of UK cities at night or even during the day?

What about if Americans called us all thick, bad teeth overweight chavs? would that be funny?

Pathetic programme
<rant mode off>

Kaylee don't read!!!!!!!!!!!!

See? I told you it'd be good.. :teeth:

I loved that. Very funny all the way through. But... With the current rate of inflation in america a bit more cash would of been OK right? I didn't think they were going to get anything for that price!

I thought the Fat Stig concept was Hilarious. :lmao: I thought it'd be something like the Stig wearing a pillow, but he was shorter so I guess it was someone else.. Still funny.. :rotfl2:

How mean were they being to James?? Jealous of his air con; how low... I would of thought they would of made fun of Richard more. I mean, do you know who bad he looks in that hat?! :rotfl2:

The roadkill challenge was just... Yuk... EWW!!!!!!! :scared1: Why did we need to see that?!

OMG, how mean were they being in the "Don't get shot" challenge?! Trying to annoy people from the Deep South is NOT a good idea!!!! I was kinda scared for them at that point... :scared1: They only managed to get through that!!!!!

I was expecting them to go to Califorina (Here we coooooommmeeeeeee... aaaaahhhhhh :rolleyes1: :lmao: ) and sell it there but it's nice that they gave them to people. Didn't know that New Orleans was that bad still! Why haven't they done anything?! :confused1:

I was wondering when James had sold his car, and then looked to find it wasn't sold.. :rotfl2: I would of given it to someone just as shelter or something like that!!! :rotfl2:

Overall; very funny episode. I loved that one. I hope we can see more like that... :) I don't know what is next week, but I think that A) We will see Billie in it and B) we will probably get to see the educational video that we were promised 2 episodes ago. But whatever happens, I hope it's funny!!!! :teeth:

Have fun everyone; enjoy 1/2 term! :)
