We're in this boat with you! We also passed ROFR 2/20 and still waiting on closing docs. Contacted Magic Vacation Title today and was told ours was #50 in line (Disney has 50 more contracts requiring estoppel prior to ours). 5 Days ago I was told ours was #80 in line....so they are averaging about 6 a day?!? If so, that would mean another 8 days or so from now yet. So we're at 19 days after ROFR and counting along with you!

Wow. You timed your resale purchase just right. I bet most of the rest of us will be waiting an additional 3 weeks longer for the entire process to be completed. I'm 12-14 days after you and I'm still waiting on closing documents. Congratulations.

It seems like the massive slowdown started around January 19th...from what I'm seeing, anyone in that group or later has had an uphill battle with almost every step. Sorry you all have to go through the long waits!

This is my second contract and I'm renting points for an upcoming trip, so I'm not stressing like others. But it's really crazy how Poly (perhaps) has impacted the timelines.

My timeline

12/19 offer submitted and accepted
12/21 sent to disney
1/14 passed rofr
2/9 closing docs sent to buyer/seller
2/13 buyers paperwork received
2/23 sellers paperwork received
2/27 closing

Finally !!! I am in the system as of today!!! 83 days start to finish! So glad its over! Now we get to go to the POLY in May!!! YAY!!!!!

Thanks everyone for the helpful advice!!!

Here's my timeline for a Grand Cali purchase. It was very, very long ---
4Nov Offer/counter-offer accepted
4Nov Off to ROFR
11Nov Passed ROFR (outstanding and fast!!)
19Nov Received docs
21Nov sent back docs and check
18Dec Estopple received at Escrow Agency in Cali (really a month for estopple?!?)
12Jan Contract closed (I guess everyone had a good holiday season off...or something)
11Mar Membership number received (another month to get a membership number...really?)
15Mar Points visible in account

131 days

Fortunately for me the good folks at DVC Resale warned me that closing on VGC took considerably longer than Orlando properties so I rented points for this summer's vacation at the start so I didn't miss out on the 11month window booking.

Day 72,
Send in my closing documents and fund on 2/23
one week pass the closing date, still waiting for the contract to close.... :worried:
Closing company said they are waiting for the seller's account to be updated and verified by Disney.....

Good gravy, that is a long time. We are waiting or Estoppel on our VCG contract through Timeshare Store, and no one has told us that it would be longer than other properties. It will be 3 weeks tomorrow since we passed ROFR, but that seems to be across the board right now. UG, I hope ours moves faster than yours did. Glad you finally got through it!

I asked our broker about VGC this morning, since we are waiting for estoppel on our VGC contract currently, and he said, "GCAL generally take 7 to 10 days longer than the Orlando properties to be recorded because the deeds in Orlando are done electronically and manually in CA. The 131 days must have had other issues to delay the transfer that long."

Closing company said they are waiting for the seller's account to be updated and verified by Disney.....

Wouldn't the seller's account be verified before closing documents are signed and funds sent? Any idea how long this final update usually takes and is this common.
Only asking because I'm same....

They definitely do verify before closing docs are prepared (estoppel) but many have reported a similar situation-not sure if they check a 3rd time (1st ROFR, 2nd estoppel) or if it has more to do with paying off loans to Disney or MF for the year?

Day 22 after passing rofr, still waiting for estoppel. I can't understand how some get it in a few days and others drag on and on . . . Frustrating!

Sgrap - who is the Escrow Company in Cali that you are using? My agent said that InterCity Escrow was the only option available and they are really slow, but they certainly are friendly!

I don't know what escrow company yet. We are still waiting for closing documents. we are using the time share store and magic vacation title.

Well, don't let the longer times stress you out too much. Are you planning on the points being available for use soon?

oops - just looked at earlier posting and see that you want a mid-November reservation.
