I'm about to buy our first resale and was wondering if anyone is able to recommend one company over the other. I've heard reasonably good things about both companies here on the boards. What do you know that would help me make my choice?

We've used the Timeshare Store twice and were very happy. We worked with Jason.

I don't think you should make your decision based on the listing company, you should make your decision on the points, use year, and price being offered and the deal you can make with the seller.

You can offer with either company, for either comp. listings. I do not think you can go wrong either way. I have heard good by both.
I used **** and **** (**********) and loved them. Contact was at a 10 outta 10, and they used email, which is really good for me. I have heard similar, as often with the other.

I have used TSS and am using another broker right now. TSS was a great one to work with--quick, easy, and efficient.

I would have used them again this time but they did not have the contract that I wanted at the price I wanted to pay. I made a few offers through them, but the sellers shot me down.

I was told that for the property I wanted, my price point was too low. I ended up finding a willing seller through someone else. So far, that experience is working well. A bit slower than the first time--dealing with an overseas seller--, but I am still only about 6 weeks in so not bad at all.

We used Jaki&kin at resales dvc. We had a great experience and will very likely use them again later this fall when we add on. When we told them which resort and how many points, they emailed us a bunch of listings not on their site (presumably from other brokers) and the process was pretty smooth.

We followed listings on both and ultimately used DVC by resale because they got the contract we wanted. It was the right number of points in the right use year. Which, given we wanted BLT in August for 75 pts or less wasn't an easy find. That, and it came up just a few days before the rules change.

They did a fine job and even in the midst of the frenzy still got us closed within two months or so.

I'd use either based on who hasnthe contract you want.

This is who we used when we bought our resale contract last year and have again contacted them this year as we are trying to buy again.

Thanks, everyone! Very helpful information. You have given me great confidence. I love this family of Disney fanatics! You ROCK!

We used ********** for 4 contracts. Everything went great with each contract - they always got right back to me, and I always felt like I knew where each contract was in the long resale process. I tried to buy a contract thru TSS, and it was the exact opposite than the 4 experiences that I had with **********. I did learn later that the agent assigned to me by the TSS had some personal issues, which led to emails and phone calls not being returned.

I have used the TSS for both buying and selling DVC. They were absolutely fabulous to work with. They always responded promptly to any questions or concerns. I would never hesitate to highly recommend them. :thumbsup2

I think the TTS seems to do a great job in the closing process, but I've found that they tend to price their resales higher then the competition and favor the seller more then the buyer. Its just my opnion.

I have used both and would use either again. I felt DVC by Resale got back to me quicker but with one exception (caused by turnover at TSS) it was not a huge difference.

Bought from TSS and it was seemless. It seems like people mostly have issues with the place that rhymes with shmidelity.

We've had dealings with both companies, and it was like night and day. We've bought 2 resales thru the TSS and been extremely pleased both times.
However, we dealt with DVC by Resale once and walked away from the sale. Things were just taking too long for us (based on expectations from our experience with TSS) and the worst part was that we were told one thing, then something different about the conditions. Things just didn't "feel" good, so we walked away. It took another 8 months to find what we wanted, but it was worth the wait.
