The Timeshare Store---I am not happy

I guess you just have to move quickly and definitively. I'm kinda lazy using our broker, they do it all... I just pay. LOL Good luck in the futire.

Last year I saw a contract at BCV I wanted...when I called someone else beat me to it. I asked to be called if it fell through...two weeks later I got a call from the Timeshare store...wanting to know if I was still interested...I said yes, could I put a bid in for a lower price...they said NO, if I wanted to do that it would have to go back on the listing site, I said, but I would be the first to respond..they said not necessarily...so, sometimes I feel that they take the highest bidder that come in close together....but you offered full price, so that shouldn't been the reason...I eventually (after discussing with hubby), offered full price, it was a small contract (under 100 points) and the right use year...I'm good with our decision as I haven't seen a comparable contract. Did ask the TS rep to keep an eye out for a VWL contract in my use year and around 100, haven't gotten any calls...but haven't seen one that meets my criteria...just as well for now, just paid our maintenance fees...

I too have bought and sold with TSS and got a contract e-mailed or faxed to me within hours of my verbal agreement to purchase and when the contract we sold was sold. Actually the contract we sold was listed for less then 2 days and we were at the airport going to WDW when I got a call saying our contract was sold full asking price so we needed to print off the contract, sign it and fax it back within the week. We were staying at BLT and ask concierge to print it off for us, once printed we read and signed it concierge faxed it for us. Just wanted to let you know if that happens again and you are at a resort most will do this for you even for a small fee. Good luck on your next contract.

I called TTS first when we were looking, and I can't say anything negative, but I didn't get an overwhelmingly positive vibe either. They were a business, I was inquiring and that was that. I don't know how many calls they get a day, but they didn't overly inquire as to what I was looking for, or do a whole lot to make me feel like they had anything to offer over anyone else.

I did get that vibe from the "forbidden" store. But our contract we found was not listed with them either. They were very helpful, talked to me about what I was looking for, what they had listed that could or wouldn't fit my needs, and what they recently sold for.

We ended up buying from Shontell Crawford. The contract I wanted was listed with her. We signed the contract that night. We didn't get the payment there for a few days, but we agreed, and the seller agreed, she listed it as pending sale.

I'm sorry things didn't work out for you. Keep looking (I know it's nerve racking checking everyday)

(snip)... so, sometimes I feel that they take the highest bidder that come in close together....but you offered full price, so that shouldn't been the reason...(snip)

Well, I think you might be on to something there.

When the whole thing went pear shaped, we wondered why they had not mentioned that we could use a credit card to make our deposit. And why the sales rep assigned to us disappeared for a few days right after we spoke.

And we came to the possible conclusion (based on nothing other than what we have stated here, and our spidey sense) that perhaps someone at TSS was trying to get in touch with a repeat customer, and needed to keep us at bay until they established whether this person wanted this particular contract.

Still looking, looking, looking,

Cathy

Sounds like an employee who was excited about an upcoming vacation, not putting his whole heart into his job in the last bit of working time.

It really has nothing to do with the deposit. Even if you had paid it over the phone, until you have signed contracts from both, the seller was free to take someone else's offer.

TSS would have simply refunded your money and told you another agent sold it at the same time.

Did you get paperwork to sign that day? If not, then that was the problem, not that you hadn't put in the deposit yet.

Thanks for sharing more of the details. I don't think it has to do with the deposit because as mentioned, until there is signed paperwork, anyone can back out.

To me, it sounds like you called, made a full offer, and that offer never made it into the paperwork stage because you have not mentioned receiving contract--which you would have, either that day or the next one at most, even before the deposit needed to be in.

We have dealt with TSS as buyers and sellers and both times, we were emailed the contracts within hours of the verbal agreement and it sounds like this may not have happened--which could be why the other agents didn't know you had made the offer.
We've both bought (twice) and sold (twice) through the Timeshare Store, and this has always been our experience as well.

On our last transaction (selling), I got a call from the TSS rep with a verbal offer, contract emailed within minutes, signed the contract and emailed it back immediately. The whole thing was done in less than 15 minutes.

As the details dribble out on this transaction, it seems to me that the problem was most likely that OP was on a short vacation and there was some disconnect in getting and returning the contracts.

I agree with Sandi that the deposit timing and method would have been irrelevant.

Gee, Jim, you really make me wish I had kept my 'dribbling' details to myself!!:lmao:

And yes, I too think there was 'a disconnect' but I also feel that THEY are in the business of getting the sales done correctly. Now, of course, I know a lot more about how to get an offer to completion. ... but they always knew that, and failed to share it with me.

And that is (and always was) my point. Detail 'dribbling' or not!

Thanks for everyone's wisdom!

Cathy
