I am the girl at school that is different. I think its cool to be different so i'm going to share why this thread is for other people to share why they are different and be proud of it! we are all different!
i love 80's music :hippie:which is kinda hard for people to understand i'm smart so some days i have friends just to get help on homework. i don't think its necesarry to be a 4 sport althete which most people do in our school. i am the one who feels trapped in a small town and wants to leave asap. i am seriously considering a carrer in entertainment and planning to move to New York!
thats why i'm different so don't be shy be proud of who you are. tell why you are different

I love 60s/70s rock, and British comedy. People think I'm weird because of it, but I love it anyway.

I never used to fit in at school until I got to my small highschool. I was always the outcast that got picked on and made fun of and had no friends... My mom always told me to wait until highschool and I'd find my niche, and I never believed her until the start of this year =]

I'm like that, I've been picked on ever since I was real little.

People call me strange, different, insane, a lunatic. They think I'm too "weird for the school," and that I will get no where in life.

Actually, I want to have an acting career, and am very into that. I sing, also, and play the piano. I'm not into sports....at ALL! Been there, done that. That seems like what all the girls at my school do. I do Community Theatre....those people are all crazy and obnoxious and weird.

Most of the kids at my school annoy the shuhdunkins outta me with their petty problems, and their normalness.

Lameos.:cool2:

erm, i'm obsessed with the Beatles, i get A LOT of stick for that.
and Harry Potter. Luckily, i do have some good friends who also love Harry, but its kinda awkward telling people im obsessed xD

but, whenever I hear a song, I will say 'that's not proper music!'
and my friends will all say 'and what, the beatles are proper music?'

it just makes you want to facepalm/headdesk ><

that one comes up at least once every week.

At least you live near your school. After years of feeling probably like you do now (left out and what not) I changed schools, and 5 years later am quite happy... but don't live near anyone, so there will always be problems haha

it might take a while to move passed that, but at least you can rely on some friends here

Hmm.
I'm really pale whilst most people cake themselves in foundation.
I have no clue what music is in the charts right now.
When people look through my ipod, they always say "The Academy Is... what?" or "The Script? That's so old!"
Every Monday I have this conversation, when someone will say "OMG did you see Britain's Got Talent on Saturday?" And I'll be all "No.. I was watching Doctor Who.." And then they'll look at me like o____O
I often reply to people with a Back To The Future quote and they're always like :/
Luckily I have some friends who like Back To The Future and Doctor Who and the same music and stuff.. but I stress the 'some'.. because I have like literally 3 friends or something like that..

I don't fit in with my school as a whole, but I fit in with my friends.

I don't dress like the girls at school because, honestly, a lot of them look like they're selling themselves. I tend to wear knee length shorts and I don't wear terribly low-cut shirts. I honestly don't put a lot of effort into my clothes. I just grab the first shirt I see and put it on XD

I listen to different music. Most of the people at my school listen to things like Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga, All Time Low, etc. while I listen to more screamo/metal stuff like Underoath, Atreyu, A Skylit Drive.

I do NOT like Twilight in the least bit. A majority of the girls at my school are OBSESSED and I dislike it beyond all belief.

I play video games. Honestly, that's a feat for girls at my school.

I enjoy reading books besides Twilight/other vampire novels. I honestly can't wait until I get the new Chuck Palahniuk book.

I like Disney movies. Barely anyone at my school does.

im friends with most people in my course, but im the different one.

im the youngest at 19. the everyone else is 21, 23, 27 or >40. but everyone forgets how young i am because apparently im mature for my age.

i hate twilight.

im a virgin.

i dont swear.

i dont drink much.

i dont go out to town. except for the heaps chill places sometimes.

im quieter than everyone else.

i actually really want kids.

THIS. I'm in the 11th grade and all these girls talk about how they're having sex. I don't do that kind of stuff.

I fit in alright. There aren't usually too many people to talk about Disney with, but I guess that's what the DIS is for! :)

meh, once u get out of high school it wont matter you just matured faster than most...

Dude, I'm in eighth grade, and this girl was talking about how she snuck out, and made out with her boyfriend, and everyone was encouraging her to have sex with him.

....

from fouth through 7th grade i had trouble fitting in. i started voice lessons at a very early age and started community theatre soon after that. i got the title of broadway girl. i got made fun of for doing something completly different than everyone else. i live in a sports town, with an amazing football team. but when i was in 3rd and 4th grade and skipping school for audtions and shows people thought i was too good for them. i didn't have an attitude about it or bragged about it. istarted getting picked last for sports and only had a few close friends. as soon as i got to the age where i could audtion for school shows things changed. i had a lot of friends in community theatre but being with them for 2-3 hrs a day just wasn't enough. once school theatre started i met a lot of kids who wanted to try theatre. i was the ONLY kid in my school distict my age doing theatre. so i got leads, and became insta-popular. everyone just wanted to be friends with the "star". now i'm in high school and have a bunch of super close friends who all do theatre. a lot of them now do comunity theatre with me. so just hang in there... you'll find your "in"! and hey, you've got ur awesomely amazing Disboards friends you can talk to when you get home!

I think I'm pretty different in that I'm not as...dumb(?) as most teenagers.

No offense to anyone here, but most teenagers I know are well...very immature and don't think about the future, or consequences at all.

I'm a virgin, I don't drink, I don't smoke, I've never had a boyfriend, I don't sneak out of the house late at night to do crap, and I'm pretty modest and conservative.

Teenagers are seen in this light that they're sex-obsessed rebels. \

That's not me AT ALL.

im a born again christian

im a virgin

im engaged

i dont wear make up

i dont smoke

i dont drink

i dont swear

i study most of the time,i dont party

im extremely shy

There isn't really a lot of fitting in to do at college, cause everyone already has their own life and everything. You don't even have to talk to your classmates if you don't want to.

My school itself has a pretty big party scene, so there's always a lot of drinking and stuff going on and I don't party so I guess that's something.

But seriously, you can find people like you if you want to. Everyone is so different so even if you didn't know anyone at all in high school who was into the same things as you, you'll find a ton of people in college if you want to find them.

Well, I'm a lot more intelligent than my friends. I often get blank stares and what? when I talk and have to explain words.

I love Harry Potter, everything to do with it, and I don't care what people think.
I love old period dramas and just can't get enough of them.

I can be loud sometimes, but I wouldn't say obnoxious. I just am outgoing which in my area sometimes puts people off for some reason. :confused3

I fit in well at my school I have a lot of friends and I have a small part in the " popular" group I'm not popular but I'm close to some of them which apparently makes me popular by default!

I like Disney. Everyone does in my grade but I have dusboards and my scheduled which push me over the top

I don't drink

I don't smoke or do drugs

I don't have sex

I can't eat gluten

I don't have facebook
