Sunday 6th February 2011
Got a late evening flight out of Belfast. We touched down around 9.15pm at CDG but sat and sat and sat near the runway. The pilot came on the tannoy and announced there was a problem with the steering about 10 -15mins later the steering problem had sorted itself and finally we could get to the airbridge.
John from Ezyshuttle was there waiting for us and finally we were on our way. That Co Clare man can chat. We got to The Cheyenne around 11pm and checked in.I asked if I could get Breakfast in the Park but the receptionist came back and said No, so I am not sure whether they were not doing them or if they had run out.
We were in Billy the Kid room 1910, when I said to the receptionist last time we were in Doc Holliday she said the Billy the Kid was an upgrade.
In the room was a new flatscreen TV
and a kettle
so I didn't need the one that I had brought with me
We headed to the Red Garter for a drink and chill before bed
Monday 7th February 2011
We were up at 7am for EMH.We headed to breakfast and noticed that there were a lot of school trips about.
We headed off to the Park along the Rio Grande....this was the first time we hadn't seen it frozen. The weather today was dry, not too cold but it would turn really sunny later.
Finally we were there at the gates but as we werre going for EMH we didn't get to walk under them today
and then there was the castle....yipee we were back in DLP again
So we headed off to Fantasyland to do some kiddie rides. This was the last time we would be back in Fantasyland as my two boys 8 and nearly 11 really have grown out of this land. They were not too keen to do any of the rides but I of course dragged them on.
Dumbo our first ride
Then the Teacups...Rod sat this out as he really doesnt like this ride at all
Rod and Mac headed off to do SM and Me and J queued for Obitron. After that we all met up and went on IASW and had a walk round to see Wall-E and Eve
It was now after rope drop so we headed to Frontierland to do BTM.This is our favourite family ride and the plan was to pick up FP's ride it pick up more FP's and continue to do this for the whole day.We picked up our first FP for btm and then headed over to POTC.This was another first for us as it has always been closed on our other trips. It was always a walk on every time during our stay.A great ride we loved it
It was time for our first ride on BTM
This is just the best ride ever .We whoop, we shout "Runaway Train",we make silly faces and poses at the photo and then straight away we get more FP.
We then went over to PM had a ride on that and headed to Boot Hill, another first for us as it had always been closed because of the snow.We heard the knocking coffin....spooky
Back to BTM for another whoop and holler, then more FP for half and hour later
Next was IJ yet another first. Mac has never been tall enough but finally he reached that magic 1.40m .....What a brilliant ride but very short, the queue was never long but we did do the baby switch so that Mac could ride twice and we could take the short cut.
Back to BTM for our third ride of the day and just when we got to the final ramp down,no trains were running .the queue was not moving, technical guys were running about....OH NO our fav ride was broke. We hoped it would not be long before they could get it running but after 20 mins everyone was ushered out. We crossed our fingers at hoped it would be up and running soon.
We went to Colonel Haithi's for a quick munch.....review here
and after spent a lot of time exploring Adventureland. This is such a beautiful land we have never spent a lot of time here because POTC was closed, Mac was not tall enough for IJ ,all the waterfalls were frozen plus it was covered with snow. This trip the sun was shining brightly and it was so green and we have decided this is definately the most beautiful land in the park.
Time to stakeout our space for the parade......The boys were warned do not move or you will lose it
The parade is shorter it goes down Main Street round the Hub and back up again. The boys and Rod were not terrbly amused with the whole parade...... BOYS
But I sang along and sometimes even danced how can you not smile along with the grinning Cast Members.
After the parade we helped Buzz shot at Zurg.Rod as usual got the best score
We watched The Showtime Spectacular, once again neither the three boys were amused .......Oh to go to DLP with a girly girl and do girly things
Then off to Planet Hollywood for dinner.....review here
We then went off to The Redwood Bar at Sequoia Lodge, gorgeous bar with a beautiful woody smell for a quick drink and nosey before bed.We hit the sheets knacked but happy and were in the land of nod by 9.30pm.
