I stopped by Wal Mart yesterday to pick up some photos and on the way out I saw a woman at the checkstand and had to stop to take a second look....

She was wearing a see through white nightgown as a DRESS!!! She was wearing a bra(luckily), white granny panties, a down jacket and knee high boots with fur trim. (Must have been mighty chilly for her.)

While I have seen people wearing their PJ's in public, this was a first. I could hear people behind me commenting about it also.

I hope this is not a new trend. : :earseek:

I've seen people dressed like that - and worse - in the supermarket.. :rotfl:

The fact it was at WalMart makes it priceless.

Yes - that's why I shop at Target. :snooty: I am never subjected to such common and vulgar behavior!

;)

Reason #487 why I'll never step foot in a WalMart.

We went to Walmart last night, which is rare, as we only go 2 times a year, we went to get some christmas lights, as target ran out.

Walmart is SO ghetto, I am so happy those people don't drive to my town and ruin the target that is here.

ETA: NOT ALL WALMARTS ARE GHETTO, HOWEVER, THE ONE THAT IS 15 MILES FROM MY HOME IS AS IS THE ONE THAT IS 30 MILES FROM MY HOME. NOT ALL PEOPLE AT THE WALMART NEAR ME IS GHETTO, HOWEVER A LARGE PERCENTAGE IS.

Mom and I saw a woman and her daughter in Wal-Mart once--the woman was morbidly obese--she must have been 5'4" and 300 lbs., as was her daughter who we figured was in the 6-7yo range. The woman was wearing bright purple pants--but they were so covered in stains and food that you could barely tell--it looked like she had been wearing them for about a week. She had a thing like a jog bra on, but it was ripped and weird, so I'm not sure what it was supposed to be, with no shirt over it. Gag!

The kicker is still to come. The daughter had head lice so bad that you could see the white nits from about eight feet away and she had a few active bugs that had dropped out of her hair on her shoulders.

That was about as bad as I've ever seen anything. Mom is an RN who did public health nursing years ago, and she agrees it was about as bad as she's ever seen as well.

Was she at least good looking? Just kidding. I would never wear something like that. It wouldn't look good with my hairy legs. :teeth:

This comment upsets me. I am not one to join in on some of the debates on this board but I will not let this one go. I shop at Walmart all the time. I am sorry if you think that people who do shop there might ruin your town. While I agree that SOME people might be offensive- ALL the people that shop there aren't and I do not appreciate being put down like this. BTW we have a Super Walmart and a Super Target directly across the street from each other (Walmart was there first) It is a very upscale town and has grown quite a bit since we moved in 5 years ago.

I know I'm going to get flamed for this, but this is the truth and I'm gonna say it anyway!

At this one particular Walmart we frequent, on any given day, we'll see numerous morbidly obese people riding around in the motorized carts, doing their shopping, while elderly people or disabled people sit waiting at the front of the store for one of those carts to open up. Could they ALL be disabled? I've wondered that myself. After years of shopping there, however, I have come to the conclusion that many of them just won't walk in the store for whatever reason -- uncomfortable, lazy, etc. I have seen some of them walking back to their cars in the parking lot and the cars have no handicap license or tag hanging from the mirror. :confused3 I've also seen them walking along just fine in the other stores surrounding Walmart.

I am obese and I am uncomfortable walking, but you'll never see me taking up one of those carts from someone else who needs it. And yes, yes, I know that some of them may be disabled. It's taken me years of shopping there to discount the theory that they all are, so please don't insult my intelligence by suggesting the whole "hidden disabilities" issue -- I'm very quick to use that argument myself. Just trust me on this one. :teeth:

Thats why we go at 6 am. on Saturday and Sunday mornings. My 11 mth old is up at that time - and we can get in and out of Walmart without seeing many other people and without waiting in line. The last time I went on a Saturday afternoon because my Mom had my DS. It was insane. It was so crowded and the humanity was so scary. I said never again. Its 6 a.m. or not at all for me.

One time while waiting in line at our local Walmart I there was a women in one of the motorized scooters in front of me. She wasn’t overweight and did not appeared to need the chair but looks can be deceiving. As we got closer to the cashier the woman in the chair realized she had forgotten something in the store so she got up and ran through the store to get the item then came back placed the item on the conveyer belt and sat back down in the wheel chair! I’m pretty sure she didn’t need the chair to begin with!

I agree. Besides, she lives in Walnut Creek, not Ross. I'm sure the people in Marin County feel much the same about those in Contra Costa trying to "invade" to breath their air.

I also go early, every Saturday morning I leave the house at 6:30a, stop for a coffee, and go to Walmart. I'm usually there before they open (7a). DH works goofy hours, so he stays home with the kids while I shop. The only problem I encounter by shopping so early is that they only have 1 or 2 registers open at that time. I've noticed that most cashiers start at 8a. I've talk to the manager SEVERAL times, saying that if you want us to come in early to shop; don't make up wait in line. I spend more time in line then actually shopping. What I need to do is probably get there at 7:30, this way the cashiers will be there when I'm ready to check out.

I laugh at myself when I get ready to go to Walmart. I'm all excited to go out by myself, DH teases me saying that I am actually going to meet a boyfriend.:rotfl2: . It seems like a million years ago, when I was actually coming home at that time, now I'm going to Walmart at time and I'm looking out for drunk drivers..my o my have I gotten old!

Suprise, suprise, another "poor white trash...Wal-Mart" thread.

we live in a small town...and Walmart is just about our only choice of stores...but this doesn't make it a GHETTO store..or make anyone who shops there ghetto people..if this was a Target instead of a Walmart...it wouldn't make any difference who shopped there..sometimes you just don't have much choice..there will be people dressed like that in any stores at some point!

ghetto people aren't exclusive to Walmart - you'll find them just about anywhere, including WDW!

I shop at Walmart all the time because it so close. I have to fight traffic to go to Target, so I only go there maybe once a month. I don't feel like I'm ghetto because I shop at Walmart mostly. :confused3

I'm not a big fan of Wal-Mart. Some are beter than others. When I lived in NJ the one in North Brunswick was TERRIBLE, filled with out of control unsupervised kids, dirty people who smelled (or had head lice), the product was all over the floors, the store was always in disarray, you could never find anyone to help, it was just torture setting foot in the place. (It was one of teh ones that they caught illegal immigrants working at--Wal-Mart knew they had a problem with this and failed to rectify it.)

The one in Plainsboro/Princeton was a little better, although I slipped and fell because there was laundry detergent all over the floor and they at first refused to let me fill out an accident form, then accused me of making it up, until I pointed out that theere was a security camera over that aisle and maybe they'd like to review the tape. Jerks. I never set foot in that store again.

I didn't mind the one in Manville. It wasn't as crowded, was cleaner and the employees were far more pleasant.

The one in South Clermont/Four Corners is OK, not great, not bad. Tehy are putting a new one in North Clermont, I'm not so sure how well it will do as we have a Target that people love, as well as a new Kohl's right across the street that's getting rave reviews.
