The Target Effect

Luckily it's the opposite for me. I usually come out of Target with nothing. My Target stinks though. They never have what is advertised on sale, even on Sunday mornings and the employees are a real piece of work. My Target also doesn't have the great discount sales/markdowns that people on the budget board are always so exctied about. Just as well, it's less money I spend. ;)

You must live in alternate universe!!! YIKES!!

We just call Home Depot and Sam's Club the Hundred Dollar Stores. I am glad I am not alone.

The same thing happens to me. Not usually $100 worth. . but I always spend more than I went in for! :confused3

Does anyone else go in or just one item, say a $5 package of batteries and come out $150 lighter but having forgotten the batteries?

OMG....I'm glad I'm not the only one who does this. I went the other day to drop off some film to be developed and came out with 2 bags of things I must have really needed :rolleyes1

Target for me is the $40 store. I always go just for my $10 pack of dog bones (they have the cheapest price for the kind I get) and it never fails, I pick up another $30 worth of stuff. It's all needed, it's all justified, and it all adds up to $40 or so each time. Since I go once a month, I actually have a line item on my monthly budget that says: Target = $40.

That's why I refused to go today. I just want to go get one new outfit for my trip, but I'm scared. I know I won't want to stop. So I made a game plan, go late tomorrow afternoon, before having to go pick people up at the airport. Less time, less money spent.

Only every darn time I go!! I usually go with a mental list of 3 or 4 things, and it never fails I will forget between 1 and 4 of those things.

Shop. Forget. Repeat.
