The Tale of the Grow Walk ….Hunh?

My MIL says Indiana is closing and that Star Wars area will be expanded. I don't know where she got her information from, though she used to be a CM (worked for years at World of Disney), so take that with a grain or two of salt.

I will miss the Indy show but when I had to explain it to my nephew I did realize how old it was! But it is still a good show and he enjoyed it a lot.

As for the hat I agree with Corinna I always hated it personally but it did mean the Studios.

I just read recently that Minnie hides in there. No sign, no nothing to let you know it's her. :confused3

What a shame that you were not able to do the Indiana Jones show. I don't really rate it, but I suppose it is fun to do once. I am in two minds about the hat. I think it is rather an eyesore that does not fit, but it has kind of become the icon of Hollywood Studios.

Corinna

I like the hat. I always thougt the tower was a joke as an icon and the hat actually was something people could use to associate DHS. I hear the tower will now be the icon again. I suppose it's going to have to be moved as the area it is in is going to be redone.

I have heard that for quite some time now. I have a friend who is a CM and she hasn't heard anything yet on it for sure. There is also talk of how this areas host many parties too, so they may not remove it all together. Who knows with Disney. :confused3

Claire has no idea what it is either.

I was surprised she was back in there. A nice find for us. pixiedust:

Of course I took pictures of Claire and Minnie with my camera as well.

I believe we walked over to One Man’s Dream next and I took a ton of pictures in there as we browsed around.

Wouldn’t you just love to have these sets to play with a kid?

Doesn’t she look enthused?

He doesn’t look so happy either! LOL!!!!!

As I kid I would’ve loved to have this castle to play with.

New Fantasyland!

AWWWW…Look at the little Dumbos.

We exited that and went on our way. I took this picture of a line. I have no clue what it was for now, but it looks crowded.

Our next fastpass was for the Great Movie Ride and it was time to head there now.

I LOVE Gown With the Wind.

We got in pretty fast and soon we were on our way to a great movie ride!

I really need to have a closer look at One Man's Dream the next time I end up at Hollywood Studios. I think I would love it. That gown is a dream.

Corinna

Too far behind to comment on everything and I know you understand. But loved last couple updates and pics with Minnie are wonderful.

I never spend enough time in there. I really need to see th movie one of these days.

Totally understand. You just worry about your family.

It has been a few years since I have last rode this as well. I keep hearing rumors of this being closed, this being changed slightly or this becoming a new ride. I still don’t know what will happen, but I am glad we rode it again.

I wish my Mary Poppins pictures came out better.

We got the Gangster…and it was a girl and she wasn’t very good. Very hard to understand as well as she was trying to talk like a gangster, but her words were all mushed together.

I swear it sounded like she was talking with a mouth full of marbles.

Oh dear…what is happening here?

We got our guide back! Yay!

The Tarzan room cracks me up. He keeps hollering over and over.

I have a thing about trying to get shots in the Wizard of Oz room.

I’ll get you my pretty! And your little dog too!

That was fun. I don’t think Claire remembered much from that ride either, so it was nice for her to do some newer stuff or old stuff that seems new.

We decided to head towards the Back Lot Tour as that was also in the plans of being closed (and is now ).

Remember the old days when they had people participate in this? Not so anymore. It was just a brief run through of what happens and then we were on our way. I am actually happy about that as this was my least favorite part of the tour.

We were moved to the prop room and it was actually quite full. I tried to take pictures as we walked through but I didn’t get many good ones.

I believe this was Mary Poppin’s bag.

Soon we were lined up for our tram. Rememeber!!!! No Dancing on the tram!

The GMR is going away? I hadn't heard that one. Now I am glad we rode it in February. :thumbsup2

You got so many great shots while riding the GMR! :worship:

We did the backlot tour in 2013 as I had heard it was going to close. So glad we did it one last time. And I had no idea they had stopped doing the "live" part in the beginning. :confused3

Great pictures in the Great Movie Ride. I have not heard anything about it closing. We were told on our Backstage Safari that Backlot tour, Indiana and Lights Motor Action were closing for the new Star Wars area.

I'm sorry we missed the Backlot one last time. :(

Playing catch-up over here now......

I don't think I commented on the Ariel photos. How nice to see that genuine smile on her face. So glad she had a nice visit with one of her favorites. :goodvibes

I think the clowns you saw in Storybook Circus are the "Giggle Gang" that I read in the past week or so were just let go. :( I love live entertainment in the parks and hate to see any of it go...... even if it is a bunch of clowns. :lmao:

I love the Chip shots over by the Beast's castle. I really wish we had gotten to do these on our last trip.

Wow! Those lines to get into Sea World look long. Did it take you long to get in?

The ray pool has always been one of our favorites. :goodvibes

You should have done the other ride though (Journey to Atlantis???) It's been a while since we've been there but I seem to remember it being similar to Splash Mountain.

Too funny that you didn't want to tell Claire about the treasure hunt. I probably would have done the same thing. You just know how that would go, don't you? And with limited time, it would just be so hard to still get everything done.

Discovery Cove looks amazing. We have never been, but toyed with it years ago. The price scared me away then, and I'm sure it would scare me even more now! Thanks for the tour though. Just so lush and beautiful.

I bow to your greatness for riding Manta 3 times! I've never done that one, and am not sure that I will. Tell Claire I'm quite impressed with her new daredevil status!

And not only should you have bought one of those popcorn buckets but you should have bought one for me too! :p Those are just too darn cute!

Poor Claire, her mom making her wait so long to find the bathroom........:rotfl2: That last photo of her before you stopped is hysterical! :lmao: She sure doesn't hide her feelings very well. :rotfl:

You are TORTURING me with those food shots from the Cheesecake Factory. Looks like it was worth the wait.

I loved your shots of "One Man's Dream". Can you believe in all these years we have never gone in there? We definitely need to make time for that.

And I had no idea Scarlett's BBQ gown was on display at DHS! I'm so sorry I never got to see that.

Bummer that Indy was full. I hope you get a chance to do it again before it closes.

I know a lot of people are excited that the hat is going. I sort of have mixed feelings though. We never saw the park without it and I think the earful tower doesn't cut it as a park icon.

It was great that you managed to do some of the older attractions. I wondered if Great Movie Ride was for the chop as soon as I heard that the hat is going. I had heard in the past that the hat was built due to a contract dispute with the new owners of the The Chinese Theatre back in 2000.

Corinna

Love that you take so many pictures on the attractions. I'm always enjoying them too much to have the camera out. But I know I can look at yours!

Actually reading your report about HS is making me sad. I really fell in love with that park over the years. It's the feel of the park I like, vintage Hollywood. I do admit they need new fresh attractions but I will miss the ones they are closing. I did get to experience the Backlot Tour on its very last day of operation. I ALWAYS watch Indy. The Great Movie Ride is neat with all the movie scenes. I won't miss LIGHTS MOTORS ACTION though.

Jen, I am finally all caught up. Love the pictures of Claire. She is all grown up since the first trip report I saw her in. Cant wait for more. It is getting me excited for my trip in January.:cool1:

It's taking me forever to catch up because I was already behind before I left on vacation.

I am almost through the Seaworld update.

You are one crazy momma for going on Manta! Holy crap! I really don't know if I am as brave as you! And you didn't just ride once, but three times???? You are my new ride hero!

I loved all the pictures of the dolphins. How amazing! You got some great shots of them and the flamingoes.

Thanks for sharing all your wonderful pics. What a wonderful birds eye view of Seaworld. It looks like such an amazing park.

And woo hoo for complimentary tickets and a tour of Discovery Cove. :cool1::cool1::cool1: I have heard that place is amazing!

Lastly, I love all the trash sculptures. They are absolutely fantastic. I have got to get there.
