The Tale of the Grow Walk ….Hunh?

I didn't know that parts of Sea World were used when filming Jaws. How cool is that?! Of course Claire wanted some funnel cake after saying that she didn't want one. That's what kids always do isn't it?:rotfl:

We went in a few stores at Sea World but they really didn't have much stuff to choose from or if they did, it was gawdy and cheap looking. Maybe we went to the wrong stores?

I've only eaten at Cheesecake Factory once and that is when they were in Disney Quest years and years ago. The food looks so good!

I had Claire take this picture for Katmark (Kathy) on Dis.

And while we’re in the spirit of things she tried on another.

Great pictures of the flamingos...you caught their color beautifully. I do love that tunnel...so cool to see the fish like that.

Clare, you made Mr. Mark very proud with the shark hat. Great job. :thumbsup2

I love the flower photos. I used to love the aquarium at the Shark Encounter, but the aquarium near Manta is amazing and so much better in my opinion.

I think you had a lucky escape with the long line at Kraken. I would not do either, but I heard that Manta is completely tame compared with Kraken.

I can't believe that they made you wait at the Cheesecake Factory again.

Corinna

Love Cheesecake Factory and your dish looks especially yummy. I always get a hot fudge sundae for dessert as I don't like cheesecake. Mark loves the no-carb cheesecake (he got that hint from Nicki) and says it is delicious.

A little swim right before bed is a nice way to end the night.

Nice pics of the parade.

I need to try the strawberry cupcake next time at BOG.

Nice pics on POTC.

Love Cheesecake Factory.

I am all caught up again.

Again ........ awesome photos, Jen!

So you missed riding Kraken. ;) It is a wild coaster and your feet are dangling free - no bottom at all. But it is fun, maybe I need to talk to Claire that you HAVE TO ride it next time. :rotfl2:

Great update, Jen! Thank you for sharing.

Fantastic pictures Jen!!! :thumbsup2

I particularly love the Turkey leg one

Okay....you wouldn't ride the Mickey Wheel with me but you ride Manta THREE times!!!??? :scared1: :lmao:

Yep. I remember when I was a young one and we saw it at the movies (jaws 3 d) the big reason I wanted to see it was because it had been filmed there. And the 2 main dolphins in the movie were often at Sea World Ohio. (they shipped them down to Florida every winter). If you ever get a chance watch it.

Most of the stores have the same stuff and either it's basic tourist junk or the really pricey stuff. But then again, we are running out of things to buy at Disney ...well with a budget. :rotfl2:

I am honestly surprised she let me take her picture and put on more than one hat. But we were having a good time and being goofy together.

I love the flower photos. I used to love the aquarium at the Shark Encounter, but the aquarium near Manta is amazing and so much better in my opinion.

I wanted to go in there and then I forgot to after our Manta rides. I think the blood in my brain was probably gone for a bit! :rotfl:

I think you had a lucky escape with the long line at Kraken. I would not do either, but I heard that Manta is completely tame compared with Kraken.

Oh really, well that is good to know then. Glad we didn't go on it then. :thumbsup2

I can't believe that they made you wait at the Cheesecake Factory again.

I swear they hate me there. Every single time I have to go up and ask if we will be seated soon.

Now a hotfudge sundae sounds good too. Maybe I should get one and then take cheesecake home! I really wish they would open one up in the Toledo area.
I didn't know they had no carb cheesecake. Is it tastey? I would assume so. I might have to try that too.

Nice pics of the parade.

The BOG cupcakes are so good!

I am so behind....glad someone is caught up! :rotfl2:

I know how you love those turkey legs!

Now for one, you are not my kid...so you can't persuade me as easily! :lmao:
BUT, the Manta is safe...you just hang from a track...unlike the death wheel....which broke down recently.....and is just pure scary as you sit at the top, just about ready to fall to your death as you load and unload people. :scared1:

Ok, I have no idea how I can ride one but be petrified of the other...but it is what it is. :confused3 :rotfl2: :rolleyes1

Day 6, March 26, 2014, Wednesday

Today we were heading back to Disney World, Hollywood Studios to be exact.

I took a few shots of my morning walk.

Claire and I got ready and headed off. My parents were going to go visit some Ohio friends today. They have a Florida home that is actually very near Legoland.

I programed Siri and off we went. Claire dozed in the car this morning. The busy week was starting to catch up with her.
I pass some signs that direct me to DHS, yet Siri is not telling me to go that way. OK….. Then it tells to turn and I have arrived….oh yes I have arrived all right….in a Cast Member entrance. Um nope, that’s not where I am supposed to be. I turn around and feel like an idiot and head out and find the correct entrance.

It was a little chillier this morning so Claire and I were wearing our sweatshirts. We walked up to the tram stop and waited for one to come. A preteen aged boy looks at us. I didn’t think anything of it at first and then he turns to his parents and says “I thought we were in Disney WORLD?” Hahahaha! Claire and I were wearing our Disneyland sweatshirts. I laughed and told him I had just been to Disneyland the month before and we brought our sweatshirts to wear to the World for fun.
The tram came (I really hate doing the trams) and then made it to the entrance.

I think we arrived around 9:45ish.

And yes it was still crowded. I kept wishing each day we would find it empty all of a sudden.

I had one thing on my agenda first.

Breakfast!

The line was quite long and we got in. Once we got inside I realized the holdup was people ordering sandwiches. We don’t want no stinking sandwiches….we want

Cupcakes!

You could skip ahead to the register, where there were only a few people and ask for your cupcake right there out of the case, so we did and were served very fast then.
We went with the chocolate peanut butter one as I have at thing for chocolate and peanut butter together and last time we had this it was very good.

We headed over to the outside seating area near the Brown Derby and took a seat and shared it as I went over the app. I checked my FP+ times and made note of it in my brain. I wondered why I made the Toy Story one so late….hmm I swore I made it for earlier so we could head to MK later….oh well.

After that we took off wandering around till our first FP was ready.
I only watched this show a couple of times, but enjoyed it. Sadly the Wonderland version was on a bad night for me and hard to catch. It has since been canceled….or they just chose not to extend it into more episodes, but one of the main characters is now on Once Upon a Time.

Speaking of…..

I wanted to get a picture of Claire in here, but these girls were not moving. I guess it was their personal resting area.

We have not done Muppet 3D in a long time. I actually think the only time I have taken Claire in there was when she was maybe 3 or 4 and as soon as we left she threw up in a garbage can. Maybe that’s why I haven’t gone back.
We decided today would be the day.

I think this next picture was another “where in the world are we” that I posted on facebook.

I had to laugh at your t-shirts confusing the boy. That cupcake looks delicious. Another fan of peanut butter and chocolate here. I hope this time the Muppets 3D show agreed better with Claire.

Corinna

Looks like a great start to your day (minus the d-tour to find DHS).

I had to :lmao: about the sweatshirt episode! How funny is that.

Your breakfast looks yummy - that is one awesome cupcake.

Hi Jen! I am also following along to this TR.

I agree that FP+ is really limitating to those of us who knew the FP- ins and outs. But did find times when it worked well for my last trip (which I will do my first ever TR for once I get back to some free Wi-Fi as my house internet is metered :( )

Enjoyed the SeaWorld photos. Looked like you had a nice day. And I'd say you are up for Best Mom of the Year for riding Manta with Claire!

I thought it was pretty funny.
Yes she enjoyed it and no barfing after this time. :lmao:

Hello! :yay:
It has it's pluses and minuses. I am still not a fan of it. I know people will throw stones at me, but I almost wish Disney would charge for it. Right now it just makes most lines longer.
Best mom or craziest mom! :rolleyes1

Now I haven’t mentioned it much lately, but many people were complaining about the whole “My Disney Experience”. And in a crowded room like this I could hear a lot of people talk about it as we waited.
The apps weren’t working right; people did not like the 3 FP restriction and having to schedule them ahead. I think some people are now getting used to it, but it still is a mess in my opinion and needs a lot more work. I still am not a fan of the prescheduled FP’s and it has made a lot of walk on rides now have long waits.

Anyways…..I took a few pictures while we waited.

I kept watching this ticker. I am not sure what it was as it didn’t actually countdown to when the doors opened, which I thought was what it was doing at first.

We enjoyed the show. Claire thought it was pretty funny and I am glad we went and saw it again after so many years.

Look who we saw out for a meet and great!

Even though we love them, we did not stop as the line was long and we had another destination to get to.

Our first fastpass of the day was for Star Tours.

Claire just loves this ride. She would ride it over and over if I let her. I tend to get a little motion sick on this though if I ride it over and over, so I try not to. I do however try to take bonine each day to prevent that feeling.

Hope wanted me to tell you that she totally gets why Claire doesn't want to ride single rider. She said they just aren't old enough for that and that maybe when they are 11 they could try it. She also said she's right there with Claire about having to take so many pictures all the time.

It's funny how after reading a trip report you feel like you know someone. She talk about Claire as though they are friends. It's the magic of trip reports. pixiedust:

Jen, great update.

The place you stayed at is really very pretty.

Great pics at DHS.

Love Starring Rolls cupcakes. They really need to make that place bigger though...it's ALWAYS packed and no room to move.

I'm with you...I tend to get an upset stomach on Star Tours after more than one ride too (actually, sometimes get it after one ride).

I'm not such a fan of the new system really. I didn't totally hate it, but I certainly didn't love it either.

It didn't help me sleep in the morning....since you only get three a day, in order to really maximize your park time with minimal waits you still have to be in the park at rope drop to ride as much as you can before the crowds build up. This is especially true at Epcot since you can't get both Soarin and Test Track. So, rope dropped Soarin, fast passed Test Track.

I was never able to use a kiosk to schedule a 4th fast pass after our three were used up, either because the kiosk had a huge line (makes fastpass kind of pointless if I have to wait on a huge line anyway!), the kiosk wasn't working or there were no fastpasses left for the attractions we were interested in. So, we had three every day and that was it. If they switched this to allow you to schedule new ones from your phone, that would be an improvement.

The bracelet annoyed me. My kids didn't mind it, but I hated wearing that thing. However, I did like the easy way it opened the hotel room door and how easy it was to pay for stuff using it.

We have not been to Muppet Vision 3D since Allison was little, didn't want to go on it because she wasn't interested (not scared, just not interested) and we made her because it was something we both wanted to do. In retaliation, she was a complete nightmare for the rest of the day and totally ruined DHS for us.

And I STILL have never been to Starring Rolls!

That is so cute! I'll have to tell Claire she has a friend!

Same with me. I can get sick after one ride too, which is why I try to take bonine daily now...just in case. That one and the Simpsons at Universal can do me in.

I'm not such a fan of the new system really. I didn't totally hate it, but I certainly didn't love it either.

I feel the same way!

Exactly. We FP'd TT and rope dropped Soarin' too. It was the only way it would work without spending hours in line.

I have heard of very few people who actually go and get a 4th FP. It's a pain. I agree, why would I wait in a line to not wait in a line. :lmao: During this trip, only onsite people could get FP at that time and the kiosk lines were CRAZY long and people complained constantly about it.

The bracelet annoyed me. My kids didn't mind it, but I hated wearing that thing. However, I did like the easy way it opened the hotel room door and how easy it was to pay for stuff using it.

This trip it annoyed me a lot too. I didn't like the way it felt. In Aug. I was a little better with it as I wore it on my watch wrist instead. I do to like how easy it was to open the doors as well.

Don't you love when they retaliate! :rolleyes1
My son was famous for that. he could cry for 2-3 hours straight about something. I swore I would end up in a mental hospital because of him.

You must get there!!!!! :dance3:

We headed over towards Indiana Jones Stunt show when we left and thought about going in as Claire has never seen this show. When we got to the entrance we were told the show was full and they couldn’t let anyone else in. Oh well. I hope it stays for a little while longer so I can take her to it someday. There are many rumors floating that it will be closing. Also in case you haven’t heard, the rumor is Hollywood Studios will be changing its name again….yes again. I think I heard the current one rumored is “Disney Adventure”. I am not sure how I feel about that.

We sat down on a ledge and I looked over my app. And surprise surprise, it wasn’t working correctly.

It kept giving me info on Animal Kingdom and I kept switching it back over to Hollywood Studios, but every time I would open it again it would be back to AK. I looked over my FP times again. Hmmm. I thought my Toy Story Mania time was earlier the last time I checked. I swear this is 15 minutes or so later than what I saw earlier today.

Don’t take a picture of me mom!!!

We moved on.

And….the hat is leaving too. I am not happy about that either. It really is the park icon to me. The Ear water tower was always a joke to me back in the days before the hat.

The sea of strollers!

We wanted to check things out in the Animation Studio and find out where we could draw a character.

Wreck it Ralph and Vanelope were out, again with a long line.

I couldn’t find where the animation class was, but we found a queue for something. We decided what the heck, let’s get in line.

It was not a fast moving line however.

OOOOOH! It’s Minnie Mouse!

I swear I never knew she was in here.

What a shame that you were not able to do the Indiana Jones show. I don't really rate it, but I suppose it is fun to do once. I am in two minds about the hat. I think it is rather an eyesore that does not fit, but it has kind of become the icon of Hollywood Studios.
