The Tagliarchy Mansion

Hey, I just ran back over to the old joint to grab the fish
<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/15/15_12_10.gif' border=0></a><a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/15/15_12_9.gif' border=0></a> and catch up on the last few pages because I was away all day yesterday and I wanted to know what's what.

So sorry about your DH's fall (crash?) BichonBarb. How terrible. Is he coming home today? Will he have to be off work for a while? And the thing in his head, was it caused by the accident or was it already there? I'm a little confused. Lots and lots and lots of pixie dust to him
PixieDustTommyGun.gif
,
and you of course.

Danauk, you HAVE to be Mary Poppins! You just HAVE to! You sound just like her, and what with you taking care of those kids all day, it would just be so perfect!!!

Crud! I had a whole post just about done, and I lost it!

llebrekniT, hope the kids get well soon! Yuk, stomach viruses are no fun.

Oooooo, you guys got in truuubuuuuulllllll. Of course, I had nothing to do with it. ;) I guess it is time to graduate to juniors. No longer are we sophomorics.

Okay, so I tried to watch the Oscars, 'cause I wanted to be able to gossip with you folks about it. I made it through Billy's spiel. I made it through a few awards. I made it through the part when Billy goes around to the celebrities and makes of fun of them. That's about all I remember, because I went out like a light. :faint: I guess the stress of the weekend's events finally caught up with me.

I'm home now waiting to hear if I can pick up the old man from the hospital today.

Hey llebrekniT. When he fell, he must have hit his head, because he was unconscious for over a minute. That is what caused the hematoma. But the doctors weren't really concerned about that when he got to the hospital, because his lower back is where all the pain was. They did a CT scan just to be on the safe side. Thank God!

We were going to wait until next year to get the kids helmets, but needless to say, we are all going to get them as soon as possible.

Morning.. I stopped by the old place to check that the hot chocolate maker and latte machine got moved as well as the unlimited, no fat, no carb chocolate making machine..

Seems that everything is here.. although still in boxes, so i can't make much for breakfast today.. I'll start getting the litchen set up later on today..So how about meeting at the Poly and getting some Tonga Toast before we start unpacking...

See ya.. there

Whatever about Sean Penn.
I agree. I didn't think he was anything but average in that movie. I just don't equate screaming and crying to "good acting." There has to be something more to the performance.

I have not yet seen Lost In Translation, but I'm sure Bill Murray did a better job than Sean. I did think JD did a great job, but I didn't think he would win just because of the type of movie POTC is. pirate: Unfortunately, they're not recognized very often.

My favorite (of the movies I saw) was Ben Kingsley in House of Sand and Fog. He was absolutely incredible. Actually, I've said before that I thought the film should have been nominated for Best Picture. Of course, I thought the same thing about Big Fish. I also thought Albert Finney should have been recognized for Best Supporting Actor in that movie.

But, hey, what do I know?

OK, I'm done with my rambling movie-talk......for now. :teeth:

Bichon Barb what is the status of his back??? Please let us know..As soon as you find out..

Lewski709 your family has really been sick all winter...time to get the lysol out and wash down the whole house... PD to the kids and you..

Hmmm... :scratchin I think now would be the PERFECT time to go to WDW!!! ::yes:: And don't forget to write a trip report!!! :teeth:

Oh, and this time, could you take pictures so we can all decide for ourselves just how horrible a parent you really are?

I must've sounded really stupid, I know what a hematoma is. Duh.

I'll tell you a little story about why my kids are required to wear helmets.

A few years ago one of our neighbors told us what happened to her son. He was about 8 years old at the time. He was on their driveway riding his bike up and down, no helmet on. He was at a stop (not moving) and went to peddle to take off and fell off the bike and hit his head. He fussed a little and she brought him in the house. He laid down on the couch and went to sleep. When he woke up he said he was really cold and then he threw up. He started saying strange things and she decided to take him to the ER (it was a Sunday). They examined him and called for a Medical Helicopter to come get him and take him to the University hospital. It would only take about 20 minutes by ambulance, but they didn't know if they had that much time. The hematoma was swelling very rapidly. They got him there, immediately drilled and he was OK. Now he has a plate in his head. They said it was thisclose to a very bad ending.

That story was enough to scare the beejeebers out of me. My kids do not even sit on their bikes without their helmets and I have finally gotten DH to start wearing one too.

Depplyinluv, hope you check in tonight because I brought this picture for you -
JohnnyDepp_300x435.jpg

Please tell me that when you are Johnny's wife, you will dress better than she does. And smile.:teeth: And maybe look approachable.

RRBB you are something else girl!<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/23/23_5_88.gif' border=0></a> I usually know the person's code so I don't use the Color Wheel very often. I used it just know and I am soooo impressed with you. Too cool!<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/23/23_5_30.gif' border=0></a><a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/23/23_5_2.gif' border=0></a>

what is up with Johnny Depp's hair???? Ummm looks like mine when I haven't washed in an a day!! ugh. But he is still cute.

Good idea about helmets. I tell my kids they should wear them when they ski but they are too "goofy" I guess I need to be a little more forcefull. Second person I know of hitting their head hard on skis-and they are both good skiiers too. Scarey!!

ooohh BTW had a really encouraging night last night. Had a dinner to go to with lots of kids present in the childcare and Lauren went right in, didn't fuss and started playing with leggos. For those of you know her unofficial diagnosis of Aspergers-THIS WAS A MAJOR MILESTONE!!! I asked the careggiver how she did and she said"great!" however she didn't play with any of the kids, bu she did join the group.!!!!So <a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/10/10_1_106.gif' border=0></a> to that doc!!

You asked for it - you got it!

This is Holly at O'hanas on the day that I took the most flaming for. She had a temp. of 105 about 2 hours before this. What I left out of my story is that although I've never seen it go quite that high before, it is perfectly normal for her temp. to peak when she gets an ear infection. At the time, that was all I knew she had and they are not contagious. (The flu we were later diagnosed with is though. Oops!) Anyway, when we left for dinner, her temp. was down to 100 and she was jumping up and down demanding she must have a pickle!

She loves the coconut races. She had so much fun that night. But, I'm still a bad mom for letting her have fun while at WDW while being sick.

Good morning all,

Cheeringmom, Great news!!!

llebrekniT, glad the kids are doing better...Love the pic...

Tonga Toast sounds great to me!!!!! See you there...

Oh well, gotta get to work...

Embarrassing, but true...I can't make chicken & dumplings. Chicken and lead ballast, yep....chicken and glue balls, yep...but no chicken and dumplings.

::yes::

ps -- I haven't picked a color yet...there are so many pretty colors and so little time. :)

First, thank you for answering my question  . I was beginning to worry.

OK, I can help you. I have a no-fail, very easy recipe. Actually it's not really mine. It's on the Bisquick box. Use two cans of cream of chicken soup, mixed with milk and then follow the directions on the Bisquick box for the dumplings. You can put in some cut-up chicken pieces in the soup if you want, sometimes I do. You will not fail! It's VERY yummy. DHB tell her about the ones you made last week.

Now you have to come up with something else. ::yes::

I also cannot drive a standard-shift car. DH tried to teach me once, about 15 years ago. Never again. I can't coordinate it.

Oh well, keep posting and maybe next home you ill get to be first poster/home builder...

Nope. I saw here post, then it disappeared.

I feel really bad being scolded and all, I actually lost some sleep last night. We have to be on good behavior. What we think is so funny can be taken wrong and I understand the upset, just hope Dan Murphy comes back to visit. Sorry!:guilty: We got carried away.

Glad the mansion was up so everyone could find us!

I can't roll my tongue like the end of a burrito, but I can fold it and make it stick like a hard shell taco. Do you get it?

BTW, when my kids have ear infections the fevers have gone to 106. :scared1: We've been in the ER once. After that, I knew what to do as they did nothing special there.

Cheeringmom yay for your little one! They tend to like to prove people wrong.

I liked JD's hair. He was very GQ last night. And Billy Crystal was soooooooooo freaking funny. I loved the intro. Excuse me, I did not know Depp was married or I refuse to know. Which is it?

Gee..I get sick for a few days and you guys get all RANDY and have Alex scold you!!! Exciting!!

Ugh...doesn't feel like I have had 5 days off!! Bah!! Thankfully, my work was slow so I am not behind!

I think my Dr is a quack. Once I started taking antiboitics, I was fine...NICE HUH!! Scare me for naught! Dr's!

Here are the Pictures from Kate's party...Finding Nemo!!

Missed all of you!!

Good morning TAGLIKINS!

Depplyinluv sorry about JD not winning. I don't think that the Oscar dudes look to much into any Disney movies, do they? (I did not watch the Oscars, but saw the news this morning) Sean Penn is such an ick! I don't know how to describe how I feel about him!

Bichon Barb, I hope that DH comes home today. He is so darn lucky he did not break his neck and end up like Christopher Reeves! That is so scarey! Keep an eye on his back; never know if he did anything to his disks with the force of the fall.

CheeringmomYay! for DD! <a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/10/10_1_20.gif' border=0></a> One of the nurses I work with has a son with what your DD was diagnosed with and she had to go half time (single mom, at that) and get some financial aide somewhere(cripple children? I am not sure) just to take care of him.

Well gotta get the cattle prod out and get the kids off to school. While I was writing this, DS comes up 10 min before he has to leave to the bus stop, "Mom, you gotta take a picture of me reading; it is due this morning" I can't believe it! 10 minutes! Thanks goodness for digital cameras or he would have been SOL!

Have a great morning!
