The Tagalongs join Mr. and Mrs. Reese - Now finished!!

Quite entertaining! I had to laugh, as we were *almost* tagged along with on our first "just the four of us" vacation, but sadly, not by anyone as loved as my DM and DF. Luckily, DH took care of it.

Good luck with your dissertation!

We get on the bus for MK. It was a bit drizzly but nothing too bad. We get to MK after a quick and uneventful bus ride. The bus was a little on the packed side though. As we are getting off the bus, DGM declares that she would like to see the gingerbread house. That's fine. We hop on the cute little boat and head over to the GF. As we're walking in, DF declares that he has just released some gas.  DM looks anxiously around thanfully no one heard that. The GF is just beautiful. It's much too nice for the likes of us gas-releasers.

DGM makes a beeline for the gingerbread house only to find that it's closed. She doesn't deter. She stares at the house for 45 minutes. Meanwhile we all just sit and enjoy the view. Our view here included kids that were licking the house!!! Yuck!! Don't their parents realize that this stuff has been sitting their for around a month?? It's no wonder my students eat play-dough. After DGM gets her thrill we head on over to the monorail. DH smiles and you know what that means.... He is getting excited. :yay: :yay:

We walk into MK and I just stop. There is the castle with no crane and none of that gold stuff. It looks just like it to supposed to look (at least to me). We head over to the hall of presidents since DGF really wants to see it. We get there to find that it's closed. It closed thirty minutes ago. Cue cheesy gasp music. DGF "If we hadn't stared at ratland's closed house, I could have seen it. Is it Friday yet?" DGM snaps backs well that will just give you an excuse to come back. DGF reminds us all of his memory. DM comes out her "I am Disney high" and declares "Why are all these people lined up on the side of the road?" DF and DH just laugh.... :lmao: :lmao: We head over to a TGM spot for the parade and have the absolute best view. Even DH liked Spectro and remember this is the man who said that he would rather clean the litter box than watch a parade. DH however has decided that he is going to see if he can determine the gender of the character actors.

We walk over the haunted mansion take a ride and then get right on Big Thunder. We're all starting to yawn except for DM who would like to stay. I promise DM that we will back on Weds morn early. DM accepts and we head back to the swamp. DM, DF, DGF and DGM head back to their rooms while DH and I head to the River Roost. We sit in some comfy couches have a tasty beverage and then hit the hay. All is right with the world.

Up next, MGM-studios. DH earns a new nickname "skippy" and I get a magical moment.

cmp1111 - Thanks! I submitted last semester and am waiting to defend it. My research was on curriculum changes since the standardized testing influence. My research just really opened my eyes. It was quite shocking.

I bet! My oldest and dearest friend defends her dissertation tomorrow. I am both extremely proud of her, and feeling good myself because I proofread it for her, so now I am feeling smart as well. ;)

She's in communications, though, so hers is obviously on a much different subject.

I'd be curious to hear what you found out!

Back on-topic, it sounds like a pretty good first day by the end. Drinks on comfy couches are always good, and the "in MK" part seemed to go pretty well! I'll be anxious to hear more!

A very strange thing happened today, I was up at 6am. This is my normal wake-up but I had not woken up this early in over week. It must have been Disney. Stitch called and Mr. Reese said what the *beep* was that thing? We showered, dressed, called the tagalongs and were on our way. We waited exactly 23 seconds for the Studios bus and were off. We get off the bus and the first thing DGM says is that she would like a big breakfast. Now after the previous day's breakfast Mr. Reese and I are not interested. We promise her breakfast during the "beauty and the best" show. She says ok.
We are ready! We get there just at park opening and head straight TOT get FP's and decide to get breakfast. DGF will hold seats while we get breakfast. Those snack credits sure come in handy. I get a fruit parfait and DH gets a chocolate cake. I highly reccommend starring rolls bakery. They also had bagels/cream cheese and just about everything was a snack credit. I didn't eat too much of it since we would be eating lunch at around 11:30ish. The show was cutesy. The men didn't appreciate it but the females just loved it. At the end, the prince gave a rose to a little girl. Everybody go "Awwwww."
We ride ToT which DGF just loved. His glasses actually came out his pocket almost floated in front of him and then just dropped. Thank goodness they weren't broken. We walked by Indiana Jones and the heavens start to open up. Just a trickle but enough that everyone starts to complain. DH and I are fine. DGM and DGF begin complaining that they would like to go to the hotel. I say ok and we'll see them for dinner at PTC. Now I start hearing well if we leave we aren't coming back. Ok, that's fine. DF convinces them to stay. Afterall we are Floridians and we have ponchos. We get FP's for Indiana Jones and head over to ABC commissary for lunch.
I got the Toubullah Wrap with chocolate cake for dessert. DH got the fish and chips. DGM got the curry and DM got the noodles. All agreed that they liked the food. Everyone was able to choose something that wasn't fast food fare and that made everyone smile. :yay:
I pull out our ponchos and we head over to the Muppets. It had a thirty minute wait but that was fine. The queue area here is pretty neat. It's all painted funky and has some "muppet movie" posters. DH just watched TV on his phone and before you knew it we were walking inside. I saw the sign that talked about the key and lo and behold there was a key with a magical moment certificate. I was all psyched!! :) It was raining but I found the key!! I found the key!! We saw muppets, picked up FP for star tours and watched Indiana Jones. It was here during the pre-show that the tagalongs began to complain. We were all wet!! DH had his shoes soaked but didn't say anything. The tagalongs? They were in full complaint mode. DF wanted me to change dinner. So being the good daughter that I am I called Dining to see what was available. For a party of six? Trails End or Yacht Club galley. I took Yacht Club galley but didn't cancel our original ADR. I know, I know that was bad. :rolleyes2
DF says he wants WCC. I call WCC directly and find out they are not taking any walk-ups. I relay this to DF and he actually no jokes about it, puts on a full pout. We finish watching the show and miracle be had it has stopped raining. Everyone agrees to stay!! We ride on Star Tours and since I am vertically challenged my feet do not touch the floor in the backrow. It's a fun ride but it does need some updating.
DF suddenly remembers lights, motor, action is here and makes a beeline for it. The last show is at 4:15 and it's now 3:15pm. DF declares that we will all wait for the show. We wait and wait and wait. Now we're not even sure that there is going to be a show but we are at the front of the line if there is one. Finally they say yes there is going to be a show and let us into the waiting area which to me feels like a cattle pen where they play the same two minutes of music over and over and over again. DH and I play phone scrabble so we are able to tune it out but DGF begins to hum it over and over and over again. DM snaps!!! Run for your lives! Peggyzilla is here...... Just when I begin to fear for my life, we get to sit down. Score! We get seats right behind the handicapped section. If you haven't seen this show, see it! It really is that good. Car chases, explosions what more could you want?
We race over to PTC for dinner and have Cousin George. He picked on DH right away calling him Skippy. I ordered a "Mowie Wowie" and it had a cool glow cube :) I ordered Fried Herb Cheese, fried chicken dinner and smores. For some reason I was thinking of mozzerella sticks but it wasn't. It was this awesome cheese that you spread on fruit and bread. The fried chicken was just fabulous. George didn't harass us. He made us feel like family and that was great. DH was concerned that he would torture us. He did tease DH mercissley. DH had seen someone get yelled at for not eating his greens. DH puts them on my plate and then tells him. What do I get? collard greens with whipped cream and sprinkles. The smores were fabulous just like camping. Everyone raved about their food. It is just good home-cooking. DF and DGF said that their chocolate shakes were the best they had in years.
We paid the bill with our TS credits. The bill would have been over 80 bucks for just DH and I. Then we saw the osborne lights. We got there just in time to see them dance. Fabulous! Now DH wants to do that to our house. Men!!! We walk around aimlessly and take it all in. It was around 7ish and although I really wanted to see Fantasmic (I always seem to miss it) DH was feeling mighty tired and logic took hold. It was time for bed. We make the trek to the bus wait for three buses to go around. This was going to be a running theme; waiting for buses at the end of the day. DH convinces me to go and have another tasty beverage. This time there's Bob the piano player. We're pretty wiped and head back to our rooms. Day 2 is complete and there were no meltdowns. LIfe is good.

Up next - Day 3 The not-so Magical Kingdom

cmp1111- I was none to happy with overall changes in curriculum. I found entire school districts where the only subjects taught in elementary school were math and reading because the test scores needed to be raised. Many schools had eliminated art, pe, and music from their schools and changed these to more reading and math instruction. I found these pushes to be most prevelant in lower-income/ minority communities.

Wednesday was our designated Magic Kingdom day. It was also our day where we were going to rest in the evening. Again that internal alarm clock went off..... I attempted to make coffee. There are no words to describe the acidity level of it. It was just horrible. Battery acid would have been an improvement. Stitch calls again and DH says that stitch needs a beat-down. We dress and DGM and DGF call. They don't want to go to MK. Ok, well we will see you later. As these are grandparents and not DM it is agreed to meet for dinner. DM calls, "where are you? I thought you wanted to leave early?" I look at clock. It is 7:30 a.m. DH takes phone and says "are those feet already moving?" DM does not apprecitate comment. DF comes on phone and asks if we are ready. yes and we get the bus. This time we are forced to wait 45 seconds for the bus.
We get there at around 8ish. Now what do you do when you are there one hour before park opening? You play Uno!! I sat my happy little self down and played some games with DM, DF, and DH. We see the cute park opening and head directly to tommorrowland. Space Mountain isn't open yet so we get FP's and ride Buzz twice :) I completely stink and DH beats me again! I have never beaten him. Maybe it's because he drives.
DM is complaining that she is hungry so we walk over the bakery and now DH decides to show his cheapside. Yes we are on the plan and yes I want to max it but stop worrying about how much a cup of coffee is going to cost. After debating for ten minutes and reminding DH that I did budget for OOP expenses, we get some food. This was our first-run in with a screaming child and I mean screaming!! It would not shut-up. The poor kid's parents just ignored it and went on eating. We left with minor headaches.
Onto space mountain!! It was so great to just walk past everybody and get right on. Then it's time for carousel and wedway mover. With that out of the way, we walk over to toontown. Why? Because I love Minnie's House. We get to the kitchen and it is here that I encounter the first rudeness. Adults pushing me out of the way!! Why? I don't know. I just stand my ground, take my turn and then move on. I'm not going to move out your way because you push me. No siree...
After leaving Minnie, I see one of the pushers and they are armed with a stroller. I'm standing off to the side. They see me. I am in fear. :scared: As they walk by, they get real close and run over my feet. :headache: DH and DF misses it but DM doesn't. She goes after the person and starts in. "Did you know that you just ran over my daughter's foot?" Person then claims to only speak Spanish. DM says it in Spanish. DM is from Columbia. Person gets all huffy and walks away. Now foot is not in terrible shape so I just walk it off.
We ride Peter Pan and get lunch at Columbia House. Go upstairs and eat!! It is so peaceful up there. I had clam chowder and tuna sandwich. DH had fish and chips. The sandwich was good. The bread was toasted. The soup however distinctly reminded me of Progresso. The foot was no longer hurting. We head over to Thunder to FP's. FP return times are around 4 hours away. Forget it!! We go and see Country Bears instead. Guess who we saw? The same stroller brigrade that ran over my foot. They see us and turn away but they end up right behind us and talk the whole time. They didn't shut it once. I am now not in a good mood. It's getting hot and I'm a Floridian saying that.
We decide to try Pirates. Wait time? One hour!! No thanks, I'll do that next time. DH and I get a Dole Whip, walk to the castle and hear the best comment ever. "Daddy, can we please stop and rest?" Dad response, "No, we are going to have fun." I think he missed the point. It's about 1pm now and DH and I decide to head back to POR and take a dip and cool down. As luck has it the bus is there and we get right on. We tried the hot tub. It was full with kids. Nope. I get a tasty beverage that comes with an umbrella and head over to the quiet pool. We just chill and enjoy the pool. I look at my foot and it has turned a little purple. This is not good. We still have three days to go.

Up next, Dinner and an evening at Animal Kingdom plus another meltdown.

Oh, I'm sorry. I hope that I am not "that" kind of mom. ;)

Do they do FP for Pirates? I love Pirates. I do not want to wait an hour. Sigh.

I am sadly unsurprised by your research results. Grrrr.

I hope that the next segment is better for you. The drinks in the quiet pool sound about right to me! ;)

After our morning in the Magic Kingdom, we thoroughly enjoyed our down time. My foot did turn slightly purple but it didn't hurt. DGF got to see the "hall of presidents" and was very happy. We had a 5:15 ADR for Maya Grill so our plan was to meet at 4:15 to get the Animal Kingdom bus and then get the Coronado bus from AK. It somehow actually worked. We got to Coronoado at 5pm and had a few minutes to look around. There were a few conventions going on. I know one was bankers. How did I know? (lame joke here) Because they weren't smiling. Ha ha ha.:rotfl2: Ok, I suck at jokes.

We check in and get a seat overlooking the lake. DGF volunteered that we were on the dining plan. He had made it his job to inform all servers that we were dining plan users. Our server said, "Great!" Not sarcastic, he actually meant it. Dinner was a nice relaxing event. We never had to ask for refills, bread, anything. It was automatically done. We actually ordered everything off the menu that night. It was all excellent. DM was calm. DGM was excited because we were going to AK for EMH. It was so planned except for that when we walked out it decided to RAIN!!! :worried: This is not good. DM is starting to bite her lip and squint her eyes. Peggyzilla is about to emerge. She wants to do something. Anything will do but AK when it's pouring outside? No we'll find something else.

DH, "We have the water park and fun options on our tickets. We could go to Pleasure Island. They have a comedy club." DH saves the day!! :yay: DGF and DGM are not interested in "seeing a bunch of drunks preying on the innocent." Hey I didn't say it. DGM did. DF and DM are interested and we split up. We get to DTD and there was this little nagging voice inside of me saying "adventurer's club, adventurer's club" over and over and over again. I walked in and we got there right about opening. Now I won't spoil it for anyone but it really is a lot of fun. It started out being all clean but as the night wore on, it became more adult. I especially liked when Samantha commented on what all the children were learning by being a bar. I've decided to change my class's song to the Adventurers theme song. Kungaloosh! We had quite a few drinks that night but were somehow able to stagger on the bu. DH thinks the drinks were a little on the weak side. :rolleyes1 He wants to call Disney and ask why their drinks are made for wimps. They weren't weak for DM who decides to serenade us on the bus with the Adventurer's Club theme song. Our bus driver told her she should stick her to her day job. We get home to AB 39 and hit the hay.

Today was our EPCOT day. This is DH, DGM, DGF and DF's favorite park. We were pumped. Breakfast was again promised after riding Test and Soarin. We got there a few minutes before rope. I sent them to soaring while I did the theme park speedwalk to test to get fast passes. I am a lean mean people avoiding machine. I get to Test to get FP's when I have a problem. DH's ticket isn't working. The machine is changing times. Panic! :scared1: I actually start saying "Hello, Does anyone work here?" Family is now calling. I finally get the last FP and Sprint to the land. I must have looked like I was preparing for the marathon that weekend.

We get in the line to the world's most uninteresting queue line. I mean come on who designed it? If it's supposed to resemble the excruciatingly boring waiting in an airplane terminal, then Disney succeeded. We get to the pre-show area and these people jump up and ask us if we are having a good time. DH and DGF say, "No, We want to ride." Then two others pop-out and ask if we are having a magical time. DM screams and I am quoting, "Why?" Dead silence fills the area. It was the prize patrol!! We all got Dream Fast Passes. pixiedust: :jumping1:

Plans suddenly do not matter. We have dream fast passes. We'll get to ride test twice and soaring twice. How much better is that? Not much in my book. I love soaring. It is just so neat. Now my family has to talk the whole time. So I do apologize to the people who had to endure my DM's geography lesson of the state and my DGM's commentary on how she had done all that. We didn't ride again because guess what? They wanted breakfast. So with our dream fast passes on neck we got breakfast and headed over to test track. DH's face in the photo is so serious. There was no smile just Mr. Serious whereas the rest of the family looks scared to death almost like a cheesy horror film scared.

We ride Mission; the puke version. Rest of family doesn't like it as much. CM here didn't take our dream FP ticket. Yay!!! Mission twice in one day. :cheer2: DF gets some astronaut ice cream and I get some for my class. DM sees Ellen is getting ready to start and before you can say, why?, we are off. I still like it anyway. DGF mentioned that it seemed a little too liberal for his tastes but he still enjoyed it. It was a great 45 minute nap to DH. We agree and it's off to World Showcase. We all decide to seperate and I get some fish/chips in England. DH had a nice convo with the bartend about how the guiness is 20% heavier in England and that nobody likes the French. We walk around the shops and they have this quiz in one. DM is here and she is stuck. She turns around and asks no excuse me demands that I answer them since she paid for me to get the degree. I know all of them except for the one about the five areas of Wales. Oh well. DM then drags DH to the perfume shop and asks for his opinion on what smells best on her. DH just smiles and says "You don't need anything you already smell wonderful." DM doesn't believe him and thinks that he is making fun of her. (He was.) DM wanders around tea shop and begins dropping not-so-subtle hints about doing tea at GF. Now this is something that DH suggested I do for DM next year for her b-day. This trip, no.

We leave England head across the imaginary channel, get our slushies, see the chair man and head over to Japan. We split from the rest of the family here again. DH makes a beeline for the sake bar. We each get a different one and wander around the store. We found a "cellulite massager" which according to the package "cellulite is problem that we hear women have." :lmao: There aren't any directions on how to use but DH buys it. Why??? :confused3 It sits on his desk. Anyways, we continue to roam past America. No drinks here. Then the bell rings in Germany. DH is drawn in by the allure of beer. He gets one the size of my head and just inhales the thing. Then we see the dollmaker working. It's actually pretty disturbing to see this dollheads with no eyes or hair yet. DH uses restroom finally and we head over to China. This time it's the plum wine cooler while looking at the chinese army exhibition. We take a chill and see the acrobats. :crowded: It was a little crowded but it was pretty dang nifty if you ask me. We also noticed that the friendliest CM's were the ones in China that day. :goodvibes

DH was hankering for a ride this time and now it was time for Maelstrom. The wait? 40 minutes but we had FP's!! We walk right on ride the 10 seconds that it is and then wait for the doors to open so we can walk right across the theatre and miss the infomercial. DH said the only thing he learned in that ride was that Norway has a troll fetish. We get a call from the rest of the family. DM is spazzing. I can hear her yelling "they better get on their way!! I want to eat!!" DF heard saying, "so we're going to watch the fish and then eat them?" DM's voice has risen the full three octaves.

Up next - Will we make it? Do we ever use our Dream FP's for anything but Maelstrom?

PS- How do I move this to the trip-reports?

Oooh, Dream FP's! Congrats! :cheer2:

I can't wait to hear about your DM and the CR. ;)

Ok, so we hightail over to Coral Reef. DM is pacing outside the entrance. We almost sprint to prevent another spazzisode. Check-in and wait about five minutes. We are seated in the back, back, back row so far back that I have a better view of other people's heads. Oh well. We wait and wait and wait some more. Finally, we see our waiter. DGF proudly announces that we are on the dining plan and he takes our entire order. This was fine with us especially considering how long it took to get his attention to begin with. We get our drinks, appys and bread all at the same time. Maybe it's because I used to serve but I found myself being overly critical of our servers.
The portions were small. These are truly meant for one person. We all agreed that the seafood was fresh but it is a little on the eerie side to be watching fish as you are eating fish. Our waiter only stopped by to give us our food and then he was off. He was nice enough but he really seemed to be overworked. I did notice when we came that he had been triple sat. We pay our bill using DDP and are off to Soarin!! Remember those dream FP's well here is where we use them. A second ride on Soarin means DM and DGM do not talk the whole ride. It was peaceful. :hippie:
After that, we got into a bit of a tiff. DH and I wanted to ride some more and see illuminations while everyone else was pretty wiped. We tried to ride the land ride but it was closed. However, the CM told us that Test and Mission were still open. Ah a dilemma we can ride them again or ride the "big ball." We can't do both since the park closes at 9. DH and I decide to ride Test again and DM just can't make up her mind. We get to fountain area and she finally makes a decleration. She would like us all to ride the "big ball." DH and I say "no." Peggyzilla has emerged!! We are saved by a CM who suggests that we all meet back there and then hit illuminations. To dear, dear Pierre "You are my new hero."
DH and I get to ride mission and test again. DH says that he would like to leave. I really, really want to see illuminations. We work out a compromise. Stay for illuminations and we can go to River Roost again. This makes DH happy. :) We find spot in front of America at about 8:30ish. I get some coffee, sit down and pull-out my Uno game. Now DH made fun of me for bringing it but does he make fun of me now? Nope not with 30 minutes to kill. The minutes fly and Illuminations is still my favorite fireworks show. We sit on a bench, take a restroom break and slowly make our way back to the busses.
Ah the busses. I could have walked back to the resort faster than the buses. DH and I sat on a bench and waited for the line to die down. It took (believe me I counted) 8 buses to POR before we decided to get on. We waited nearly 90 minutes just to get on a bus. We were tired. We were cranky and DH was craving a tasty beverage at this point. We get off and get some tasty beverages. That River Roost is quite addicting. Finally, we somehow get to our rooms. I agree with DH the bevs here are pretty weak. Absolutely exhausted, we finally go to sleep.

Up next- The tagalongs leave and we finally take it easy.

PS - How do I move this from pre-trip to trip reports?

I think we need to beg and plead to get a Moderator to move this over to
the Trip board. Love it so far, and I'm glad you're now a member of my
favorite club...Kungaloosh!

Day 5 - The departure of the tagalongs

Everybody, stand up and   :dance3: :dance3: :cheer2: party: The tagalongs are leaving. DH and I were quite tired from our EPCOT day until a knock at the door. It is DF and DGM. They are getting ready to leave for AK. DH and I are just exhausted and we still have another day to go. DH doesn't even get out of bed. I give DF and DGM a hug and off they go. Does DM come by? No. Oh well.

I roll back into bed and start moving about an hour later. DH is dead to the world. I decide to walk over to the French Quarter for some of the beignets that everyone talks so much about. I walk and walk and walk some more. Finally, I get some beignets fresh from the fryer. Were they good? Yes. Was it worth the walk? Maybe. They were just basically fried puff pastry with a lot of powdered sugar. My foot is however hurting now. I still however have to walk back to the resort. I make it back and DH is awak and boy is he grumpy. :charac2:

We decide to go to DTD for the now afternoon, pick up some lunch and shop. The boat ride was ok. It took us about 45 minutes to get to DTD. We did see however the neat treehouse villas. DH wants to eat. The evil hungry monster is out. So we get some food at the Earl of Sandwich. This was perfect. We ended up sharing and we both were full.

DH is now :cool1: He wants to go to DisneyQuest. We start at the top and work our way down. For some reason, my brain left me and I kept putting quarters in the skeeball machine. We tried some of the interactive rides but they were all just ok. What I enjoyed most was the classic games. I must have played Donkey Kong for 40 minutes. Some of the games are need of some serious repair. The pinballs were almost all broken. We killed about 2.5 hours in here. It was ok. It's not something that I need to do again. The carpet ride helmet was heavy and I never could figure out how it worked.

We walked around and saw the lego store. DH likey. He had to buy some star wars lego kit. It was nice to just roam around the stores and still get that Disney feeling. I found once upon a toy and got me a potato head. I put DH in charge of organizing the box. I got so many good parts. Potato sits on my desk now and changes moods. Today he is feeling like riding the tea cups. We find the $10 store. Seriously if I had not known from the boards it was there I never would have found it. I get some pretty neat stuff including pirate parts for potato head and a grab bag. I know its strange but I just love these grab bag things. Its kind of like Xmas. You just never know what your getting.

DH is starting to get grumpy and wants to leave but not until we find Goofy's candy shop. We decide one our snack credits here. I get a rice krispie mickey treat and so does DH. He gets a gingerbread man with everything on it except for the various nut items. The poor CM looks at him and asks if he is serious. She puts a little on each of the parts. We catch the boat back and dump our stuff and head off to dinner.
We have 6:30 ADR's at Kona Cafe and then plans to hit the Adventurer's Club again. Kungaloosh! It has been a peaceful and relaxing day.

I'm so glad you had a nice day. I haven't got a scheduled DTD day, and I'm not sure how to feel about that. I went in 2000 and very much enjoyed it. Still, I don't know that it's worth missing a day in a park. What do you think?

So, are the tagalongs gone for good? Does DM make another scary appearance?

We wait for the bus to MK and wait and wait and wait and wait some more. Finally we get the bus and then pick up the monorail. DH is quite excited about eating at Kona. :hyper2: It was the only restaurant he picked out. The first thing DH says upon entering the Poly is "When can we stay here?" Alright!!!  DH likes the Poly. He asks if we can stay in October for F&W. Hmmm... Ok on to dinner.

Dinner was good. Very good. So good that DH wants to eat here for dinner before leaving. Maybe. I had the Kona chowder and DH had sticky wings. Here's what's weird though. We got our drinks and appys at the same time. The waitress had just taken our order and gotten our drinks when a food runner came with our food. Kind of strange but nice as we were hungry. DH had the steak and I had the shrimp/scallops dish. DH was now in love with the Poly. "Oh the food here is so much better. It's so pretty and they have the monorail." We get the pressed pot and it is the only coffee that I can drink black. We leave but then DH sees drinks in pineapples.

It was the attack of the Lapu lapus!! :drinking1 We each get one. Why? Because we like pain. As I am enjoying my lapu lapu, DM calls. She is crying. "I never got to say goodbye!" She is eating terrible Sonny's food and misses us. Um, ok you miss us. Sure. I tell her that it's ok and that next trip we'll do the GF high tea. This perks DM up immensely and she hangs up. DH has heard this exchange and despite now being on his second lapu lapu is wearing a question mark face. He says that we will talk about it later.

After finishing our bevs, we are off to another night in the adventurer's club. Kungaloosh! It's even more fun after two lapu lapus. We park ourselves until closing and deliver a moving rendition of the Adventurer's theme to the very kindly bus driver. We tell him that we are the Tampa branch and he just looks at us as though the aliens have landed. We drink some massive water and then hit the hay for our last night in lovely Alligator Bayou 39.

cmp - I don't know if I would go the whole day to DTD. We found the afternoon to be more than sufficient but it really was fun.

Today is Saturday and our last day in the world. DH is moving slow this morning so I start packing our stuff. We double-check our room and say goodbye. Despite everything it has been a good trip and DH wants to come back. We decide to drive to AK since we plan on spending a full-day there. We get to the park at around 9:30ish and head straight to Expedition Everest to FP's. I am so glad that we did that. The FP return time was for 3pm. Now some people say that AK is hard to navigate and let me tell you I was totally confused for most of the day. There was just so much foilage that we spent a good part of the day confused.

After backtracking to DinoLand, DH announces that he is hungry. We stop at Flametree BBQ and use our last CS meal. It was good. We just sat and watched the ducks. These ducks are just like dogs. They beg. They make noise. Whenever someone new sat down they all just congregated on the poor souls. It was really quite entertaining. With our stomachs full, we headed back to DinoLand. The wait for Dinosaur? 20 minutes. Alright! It was actually more like 15 minutes. I had only ridden it once before when it was named "countdown to extiniction" or something like that and DH had never ridden it. His reaction? That was awesome! It is so well done! Let's do it again and so we did.

After our second dinosaur ride, we decided to ride Triceratop swirl. It was really nice to be a party of two. We got pulled out waiting in a few lines to fill empty spots. We waited a whole ten minutes here. For some reason this made me quesy and of course DH declaring to ride again! I think he likes watching me turn green for some reason. We walked over to Asia and ended up in the line for the bird show. We stayed and watched a wonderful show. Now I'm from Miami and I have seen "Parrot Garden" shows where the birds do some really stupid tricks and AK's bird show was nothing like that at all. We look at our FP's and it's time for Expedition Everest.

I would write more now but DH has now begun meaningless trip cancellation threat over August trip if I don't stop for today. :flower3:

Aw, we wouldn't want that, even if we're waiting for more from you. :)

Have a great weekend!

So we get on EE. This just scared me to death!! I was not expecting the Yeti! Once again DH announces that he would like to ride again! Wait time? 60 minutes! No dear, we'll do that next time. I check the times guide and it's fifteen minutes before Festival of the Lion King. Can we make it? Sure if we can teleport over "the tree". Don't ask how but we found DionLand twice before finding the way to Festival of the lion king. It was fun and lions rule! Roar!! There was even one somewhat disturbing moment where one of the gymnasts licked his lips and did the booty shake. I don't know why but it was mildly disturbing.

It's now parade time and remember DH has threatened divorce if forced to watch parade so it's onto safari. DH needs a restroom but do I hear this? No, that nagging little voice in my head is repeating "safari, safari, safari." The line was about 15 minutes and once again being a party of two we got to cut for some reason. The driver wasn't into it all. Maybe he was tired but he sounded like the adults from Charlie Brown. We did see the lions walking around so that was nice. After Safari, DH uses restroom and somehow I run into one of my K's. Is it one of my well-behaved ones? Nope. I am never that lucky. It's the one that still throws an all-out kick and scream fest when he doesn't get his way. I meet his mom who starts asking me for parenting advice. A bit strange but being the dutiful teacher I am polite and then give the little one a hug and head off. When he's not throwing something :duck: , he really is quite adorable.

DH and I have ADR's for Boma at 5 and it's about that time. We only find our way out by the huge "PARK EXIT THIS WAY" signs and take one final look. Not too long a look because Boma awaits. DH gets a little cranky here. He doesn't really want to eat at Boma. He's not a buffet kind of guy but I promise him that it's a good buffet to which he responds "There's such a thing." Too bad, I'm driving. We get to Boma and get our table. Our table really didn't seem to fit the location. It's almost as if it was put there by mistake since it sits right on the pathway every single server has to walk by to get to their station. We both found the buffet pretty hard to navigate and it was never explained that it was ok to just go to the area you wanted and get what you wanted so I the brain dead person that I am stood in the prime-rib line for sometime before I saw other people doing it. The food was good and yes the soups are delic. This had been our second meal without the tagalongs and we both noticed that it seemed to take a LOT longer for our server to come around. We enjoyed our meals except for the screaming child that would just not stop. I was about ready to walk over and be a "female dog." We pay our bill and use our last snack credits to get a few mickey rice krispie treats and some zebra domes. We hit the road, pick up the kitties from the kennel and hit the hay. Another Disney trip has been completed :) How much longer till we can go back? princess:

PS - Two weeks later, I booked us a six dayer again the week before our "workweek" as a last hurrah to summer.

So that's it!! I have yet to tell my DM about our August trip. DH has said that I should not tell her until we are actually in the World again. He has some fear now of uninvited relatives. Thanks for reading :surfweb: :goodvibes
