The Tag Fairy

Gosh....the time has passed by so fast! I didn't realize you were leaving for your trip so soon....although I doubt it has seemed like it is "so soon" to you! Have a great trip!

My stitches are not dissolving....I have to go back to get them removed on the 19th. I think he did it like that so he could evaluate what is happening in there. Then, he had me make an appointment with my regular DDS to take the stitches out and evaluate the condition. I was not too happy with that. That DDS is the reason I am in this mess to begin with! :guilty:

I am not in pain anymore. But, I did find a painful lump on the roof of my mouth I will have to ask them about. It is right over where the root would have been in my upper jaw. I am afraid of what it could be.....! :guilty:

Anyway....today is my birthday! Today....I am officially old!! Or so my DH has been telling me for months now!!!

happy happy happy birthday mtblujeans..........eat all the ice cream you can.
calories don't count on bd.......

i have a lump on the roof of my mouth also. when i get back we'll talk.

going to see my mom for a few days and then to pick up son from college.
yikes 2 different directions. leaving around midnight tonight.

see you all friday........

hoping all goes fine wiht the dentist and the stitch removal.

did yu take the dope like i said ...........??

I remember now....you are driving all over the place, aren't you!? :goodvibes Have a safe trip!! DH took me out to lunch and something I was chewing on ripped the patch off that open space in my mouth! Ouch!! Now I HAVE to take something 'cause it is uncomfortable.....You guys will all be traveling and I will be sitting here all high and numb! :rotfl:

See you both when you get back from your travels....be safe!! :grouphug:

I'm baaaaaack (like a rash that just won't go away!)

Best vacation I can recall, tried to stow away @ Castaway Cay, but they found me...better luck next time.

Hope macraven dug out from all the snow. BTW, there was snow (although the soap bubble variety) in MGM, Main Street & even on Castaway Cay???

Mtblujeans, comfortably numb now I hope - best wishes on your birthday, won't forget this one I'm sure...

Quite a memorable trip, only fly in the ointment was when I tried to purchase some Jamacian coffee @ Nassau and my credit card was declined. When I called them, they told me someone had 1st purchased needle & thread for $1.11 in PA (the day we departed on cruise), then immediately tried to buy over $1,600 of jewelry in Isabella, Spain (which they denied - thank goodness). Had to close down card immediately and use alternate funding. Glad I brought an second card with me or we'd still be washing dishes on the ship. I'm usually fairly unflappable, but my DH sez I was a close to melting down as he's ever seen me.

Glad you had a fun and safe trip! I haven't been around much lately....it's been crazy at our house! :guilty:

We didn't do much for my birthday....DH isn't a very romantic-type guy! :confused3

I have learned that if you take too big of a bite of your food, it can get caught on the patch that covers the pulled tooth area and rip it right off! I have also learned that if you swish the medicated mouth wash around too hard, it tears the stitches out! I am just not very bright! But everything is healing up quite nicely and quickly, despite myself!! I go back down on the 9th to have the doctor check the progress and remove the internal protection he left in there.

I am sorry to hear about the credit card "learning experience"! How does that happen?? I am tech-starved! :teeth: It's just a good thing you were on top of it!!

I am so jealous!! It sounds like you had a :cloud9: :cloud9: :cloud9: trip!! :goodvibes

IMO, the only good thing to come out of extensive dental work and the accompanying sore mouth is a small weight loss...glad to hear you're making progress.

As for the credit card mess...we were shopping in Nassau and it was the first opportunity I had to swipe my CC (DCL, like WDW, has you run a CC to tie into your cabin/room key for charging purposes). Since we were in the "real world", I couldn't use my DCL card.

Imagine my surprise when the clerk swiped the card several times, smiled & informed me that it was declined...I had paid off the balance several months before, especially to run this trip through it.

Since my cell phone didn't work in Nassau, I literally ran back to the pier frantically looking for a pay phone that would let me call my CC company. Finally, I was able to contact them & and the strange story was relayed. They very kindly offered to send an emergency card to the next port of call, where I could pick it up at a bank. Unfortunately, Castaway Cay has no such accommodation.

The funny thing is, we originally only planned on bringing the 1 CC, along with a couple hundred dollars. Good thing both DH & I decided to bring along a few "bonus" cards (without telling the other spouse).

Live & learn...this is the 3rd time in 1 year that I've had to have the card re-issued. First, there was an incident with PayPal/eBay and unauthorized charges in January. In March I used the card to purchase shoes @ DSW. A few weeks later it was reported on the news that employees had sold the CC information - I received a confirming letter & went through the whole mess again.

I'm leaning towards using pre-paid cards, ala AAA in the future. Only problem is that there's a limit as to how much you can charge a day ($400), WDW requires $600/time authorization. DH sez we should just bring a card with a low available balance remaining in case this happens again. Will have to evaluate and decide before next trip.

Yea.....a very small weight loss. I found chocolates malts to eat with a spoon! :teeth:

I was telling DH about your terrible experience.....did you go through a travel agency? Could someone from that agency have tried to use your card? I think it may be more than a coincidence that they first used the card on the first day of your trip.... :confused3

You did better than I would have.....I would have freaked!! DH is paranoid about ATM cards and debit cards, etc....after my freak we would have had to have HIM hospitalized!! :rotfl:

...mmmm, chocolate malts! I spent my most recent dental go-around with my head in the toilet bowl, yeech. Unfortunately, most narcotics make me sick...figures.:confused3

My DH sez my face was tomato red, thought my head would pop off. Still makes me upset thinking about it. Guess it had to do with being in a foreign county w/o any money LOL.

I gave up on TA's a few years ago. My WDW/Universal obsession has enabled me to trim most of the "fat" from our vacations...T-Bone for hamburger prices.:goodvibes

I'm prone to conspiracy theories (are they listening?)LOL; trying not to get too paranoid...does seem to be an awful big coincidence that it coincided with our departure from the USA.

My DH's money's on the Port Canaveral parking guy...I orginally thought of the sandwich shop @ PIT (since the $1.11 needle & thread charge originated in PA). However, another DCL cruiser had the same problem on the trip before us...hope there's not a connection.

Will leave it in the hands of the CC company...they don't seem to be fazed by it (sure, wasn't their card).

See...that's the way I handle narcotics, too. I had some pain meds I take for my back and he said I could take that instead of the Lortab. But, I ended up only needing ibuprophen....and they said to take that with whatever pain meds to keep the inflammation down. Sounds like strain on the liver, doesn't it??

I don't think that sounds paranoid to wonder who might have had access to your CC!! Not at all!! I think it is very very strange that it coincides with your leaving for an extended trip....and the fact that someone else has told you that happened to them, too, cinches it for me!

There is something unsettling about being even out of town without a CC to fall back on! Let alone out of the country!! :earseek:

I am just glad to hear you and the CC company caught on so quickly! Heaven help them if the CCCo figures out who it is and finds those people! :smooth:

Anyway....did you take lots of pictures?? I love seeing vacation pictures! :cloud9:

haven't been able to catch up and read where we are now.
but will do that later today.

sad to see no tags for the queen yet.

last time i read, mtblujeans had the dental situation.
the queen didn't have a credit card
and i was going out of town.

now i am here and need to find out what 's happening with my homies here.

off to the grocery store first though.
will be back :moped:

ho ho ho, forgot a few Xmas presents... to the mall we go and dinner out too! (if I can find a credit card;) ).

Got the fraud deposition from the CC company???? ...back it goes for investigation I guess...at least I don't have to pay any disputed charges while they're investigating.
Yep, we took lots & lots of pix, just haven't downloaded them yet..

My DH's FAX machine is on it's last leg and he wants to get another one before year end so I ran into town to see what I could find.....ooooo, I am ready to pull my freshly permed hair out with all of the 'holiday' people out there. I pulled into a parking lot and almost passed up an open parking spot near the door so I backed up a little so I could turn in and this guy pulled up fast and close behind me and then proceeded to honk at me as I am trying to get out of the main line of traffic to park. What the heck is the point of that smart move, one wonders!?? :confused3

Maybe everyone will be in a much better mood once Christmas passes and they all have a holiday excuse to drink heavily! :rotfl:

We'll be waiting for some of those :sunny: pictures!!!

Macraven, how was your trip?? :Pinkbounc

the trip ran me ragged. i put on 850 miles in those days.
drove to moms......did her errands, took her to the doctor, did their grocery shopping, made her meals and more meals to freeze for them.
was there 2 days and then went to get son. booked a hotel room as i got in late and the next day loaded up the van and came back home.

unloaded the car and kid the next night..........

it was a no time to relax trip.
and just think, i get to do it again in 3 weeks !!

hope your mouth is better mtblujeans. here's a suggestion: don't eat carmel

and a belated happy birthday to you.

keishashadow/queenie: stay on top of the cc dispute. i went thru something with a dispute some years ago a few days before christmas and it took to february to clear it all up. you are correct, its not their money that is at stake.

thinking the tag fairy should have some sympathy on us for what we have gone thru so far this month................... :wizard:

Red Lobster was delicious (just what I needed after all the food on the cruise - afraid to get on the scale). Cruise Director's quip...guests come on board as passengers, after stuffing themselves for days, leave as cargo...true words.

One more gift to find & one to return, couple dozen cookies & dinner to make. I've started to cook "our own" Christmas dinner on Christmas eve, going to SIL's for Christmas. My boys need their own turkey & ham to munch on @ home.LOL

Collectively, we've had quite an interesting month; hope for a magical holiday season & year to come for all...maybe the tag fairy's in cahoots with St. Nick!

well queenie, here it is late on the 23rd of december and i haven't shopped yet. i do have tomorrow though.

maybe i should try to hook up with a 12 step program that helps the procrastinators at christmas time............

It certainly has been an interesting month so far, hasn't it?? :earseek:

Actually, I can't eat ANYTHING on that side. There is a big hole in the gums with a small patch-type thing put just inside, covering the hole. I have never seen anything like it. I have been told it will take 4 months to heal. Then we evaluate whether or not to put an implant in there. I saw the DDS locally last week and she told me she does not think I understand what major surgery this was :confused3 I guess she is right....I don't get it...it was just a tooth pulling to me!

Thanks for the birthday wishes! There is so much going on right now....the birthday seems like it was months ago! **sigh** :rotfl:

I think I have had road trips like yours before....or at least they seemed that hectic! It didn't take long before I could not remember if I was coming or going! :rotfl:

I have never taken a cruise, tho'! And DH & I have only 'left the country' for a few hours to take a short tour over the border into Mexico when we went to San Diego for a workshop years ago. He seemed stressed at "leaving the country" for just a few hours! **sigh** He and I are so very different....I LOVE to travel! He could be a tree, with his feet planted, for all he cares about traveling! :sad2:

I can certainly imagine the 'cargo' part of traveling....I eat like there is no tomorrow where ever I go....I don't know what it is but I always feel like I am starving when I leave home! And, if there is any walking involved....forget it! I am doomed! 'Cause my brain tells my stomach it will not survive if I don't eat every 2 hours!! :teeth:

You are taking things pretty well in stride there, Queenie, for having to go thru the credit card woes for a second time! I am sure it will work out. They didn't get away with much this time!!

Well, the magic hour is almost here! There will be food aplenty and ripped paper and ribbons every where.....very soon!! :wizard:

hi friends..........we may not have had the tag fairy with us on this thread, but we have each other and that's where the blessings come in for us.......

wishing you all
