The Sweet Meet - Dis'ers do Hershey

Gonna try to make this since I only live an hour and a half south. Sound like fun!

Will probably stay at the Courtyard Harrisburg Hershey since I've stayed there before and it's pretty new. I also like to keep my hotel nights in the Marriott family to maintain my status.

I'll keep stopping by to see if anything happens with the tickets.

Great, staying at different hotels is fine, I'm sure there will be plenty of info on this thread to keep everyone who wants to stay in different hotels updated with meets, ect...

Can we be put down as maybe? We would love the opportunity to meet some fellow DISers before PCC 2.0.

Hope you can join us.

************GROUP HOTEL INFO***************

So, I got a hand written letter from the manager of the hotel and a contract to sign on Saturday from Comfort Suites. They apologized for the mis-information given and are giving us the rate of $142.00 per night for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. I know it's not much of a decrease, but, it's something.

Of course, I got this on Saturday, and their group sales office wasn't open so I couldn't ask them any additional questions such as deposit, cancellation policy, ect... The contract states that each guest is to pay for their own room, and to secure a room they would need a credit card. It doesn't state they will be taking a deposit - that's one of the questions I want to ask them.

I do have to sign the contract and send it back to them in order to accept the rates.

Is this still OK with everyone? I don't want to sign the contract and have people not agree with the pricing, location, ammenities, ect....

It is good with me Andrea, can you also ask if the rate is only good if you book all three nights? or if it is per night?

Hi Anne, I did ask them that last time I spoke to them, and from what I understand the rate is good for each night - so if you only want to stay 1 or 2 nights, the rate is still $142, but when I call tomorrow I will double check on that.

Thanks Andrea! I have to figure out how I transfer my current reservation there to the new rate. :)

Hi George!

Everyone can start booking at that rate 5 days after they receive my signed contract back in the mail.... I'll let everyone know when that is.

I just got off the phone with Nancy of Group Sales at the Comfort Suites. To book a room, you will need to provide your credit card and tell them you are with our group. For the group name and group account number, PM me, I'm not sure I want to put that info in this post....you never know :rolleyes1

*They will NOT put any deposit on your credit card, just taking the number to hold the rate and room.

*We can book this rate up to 1 month before - at the 1 month mark, the rooms drop off the group rate and you cannot receive the discount (Plus, the longer you wait, the less of a chance there will be rooms. It is a relatively small hotel with only 80 rooms.)

*You can cancel your reservation up to 24 hours prior to check in.

*You can book any number of nights ( 1, 2, or 3) to receive the group rate. You DON'T have to stay all three nights to get the discount.

I will be signing the contract and sending it back to the hotel. No one can book at this rate until 5 days after they receive the contract.

I will let everyone know when that is.

Is anyone going to do the Brunch at Hotel Hershey? I'd like to know before making Reservations.

I can't speak for anyone else, but, we're not doing the brunch. I did see it one day on the travel channel, and would love to do it some day. I looked it up on the website, and aside from being a little pricey, men have to wear jackets, and the weekend is just too short to have a dressy brunch. I am assuming most of us want a casual, less expensive weekend.

No, we'll stop at Perkins on the way. YUM!

I don't think we've ever been to a Perkins!

Hhmmmmmmmmm............

You KNOW you want to!!!!!!!!!!!!
