Is it just me, or does it seem as though it's easier to get sunburn when doing yard work than at any other time?

I swear, I could be out on a lawnchair over an aluminum foil blanket, covered in olive oil NAKED and I wouldn't get any sun.

But put me in regular old shorts and a tank top doing yardwork... BURNT to a CRISP!

It sounds like the answer is to do the yard work naked and covered in olive oil to avoid the burn .

I have been out there for 9 hours so far this weekend and it isn't the sun that is causing me pain, it is all the little scratches you get all over your arms and legs from the prickly weeds I have been pulling.

The first thing that happens if I win the lottery is someone else is doing my yard work, I'd rather do just about any other chore.

This had me cracking up (quite the visual!), and then I saw your tag and I laughed even harder.

I'm quite pink too, but not from yard work. It was watching my daughter's soccer game that did me in.

I find that I only burn when wearing shorts and tshirts. My solution has been to mow the yard in a bikini. I'm thinking of starting a business called "bikini sod company" and we wear bikinis. I'll have to remember the olive oil.
