I'm so sorry for your family's loss.

Oh my, I am so sorry By the time we found out my Dad had cancer he lasted about two months, and they were awful. I don't want to sound like a cliche, but maybe he went on his own terms, which was quickly. It is much harder for those left behind, but he didn't suffer as long.

Again, my heart goes out to you and your family, it's especially hard at this time of year.

My DD told me last night that during the morning hours my Mom had been sitting with him and kept telling him that Thanksgiving was coming and that we would all be home for Thanksgiving to see him. He started thrashing around a bit and they think he was having memories of his injuries from the war (from the morphine) because he said "help me" several times. My DD went to him and told him it was OK for him to go now, he didn't have to wait and she said he calmed down and was gone within an hour. So that gives me some comfort, I'm glad she was able to do that for him.

Thank you for all the words of comfort and the prayers, they mean so much right now.
