The strange things you eat

There are some weird people on the Dis.

I enjoy Vegemite.

I like to eat Toast with margarine and dip in in milk.

I love to mix tuna fish, black olives with chopped up garlic pickles, mix it all together and eat it with saltine crackers. So yummy! I also get a mad craving for water when I eat ice cream and I never understood why. I also love to dip my fries in ice cream, but I think that's fairly common because I know a lot of people who do it.

mmmmmmmmm that sounds so good...but I'd eat it with Triscuits. :) YUM!!!
I used to eat butter on my saltines all the time, haven't done that in ages. I used to make my own "cookie sandwiches", just use graham crackers and frosting and there ya go. I love cottage cheese w/a little pepper, not too weird but I only like to eat it with chips after that....or with my salad at a salad bar. The chips would be Doritos or Lay's only, nothing else is quite right and if I'm adding cottage cheese to my salad I have to use sunflower seeds and Italian dressing with it. YUM!! I also like ketchup with my eggs, but I like to mix hot sauce in with it. So it's spicy ketchup, love it!!!
Otherwise I don't think I eat anything too weird......Oh here's one.....what about cucumbers and onions in vinegar? Just slice up cukes and onions, add water until you can just see it, add salt and top off with vinegar, let it sit for optimum flavor....YUM!!!!!! I guess that would be my weird thing....LOL

The other day I ate something strange. I mistook my cats medication bottle for my own. We both get our prescriptions from Target. So, after I slept off my cat's valium, I continued on with my day.

haha my mom did that once :rotfl2:

i love celery with peanut butter spread on it! yum:thumbsup2

Cow tongue tacos.

Spoonful of PB, then dip it in nutella.

Italian sausage and beef with a small amount of ketchup.

Mix mashed potatoes and coleslaw.

Fries with sour cream, yummy.

Well maybe this isn't weird:
- Pizza with ranch
- Soft/hard pretzels with ranch
- grilled cheese with ketchup
- bacon with soft eggs (like sunny side up or over medium) dipped in them.

My Dad used to eat sardines on graham crackers.

God what I wouldn't do to see him do that again! I'd even eat one too!

My son asked for a butter, mayo and mustard sandwich tonight...:eek:

i talked him into eating just a butter sandwich...whew!!

DH loves it when I cook carrots with pancake syrup.

I like to cut up a banana and eat it with peanut butter for breakfast. When I eat it, I don't get those mid morning hunger pangs.

When I was a kid I would mix orange juice and blue gatorade and drink it with dinner...

I drink instant Tang mixed with instant tea, hot. My aunt fixed it for me when I was little and I still drink it today.

fried eggs over white rice

fried eggs over mashed potatoes

ramen noodles with eggs

I see a pattern here.......:rotfl:

My husband thinks I'm nuts.

I remember going to my grandmothers and she would rip up some white bread, sprinkle some sugar on it and then pour milk over the whole thing. Don't know what it was called but it was good at them time. I don't think I could bring myself to eat it these days but I remember loving it back then.

A couple summers ago, my son came down to the pool deck with his lunch. A couple of hot dogs. Not a big deal....I mean he's a growing boy right? Something just didn't look right so I asked him what was on his hot dogs. Ready for this? Peanut Butter!!!:sick::sick: He ate it and said that it was good. Since then he's probably eaten his hot dogs like that a few more times.

I'm having a vision of a cow tongue sandwich right now. I wonder if that's available on the dining plan.

When my grandmother made asparagus (which I love), she would boil it in milk and butter. She placed buttered toast on a plate and then poured the milk and asparagus over it. I have never known anyone else who has cooked this. I think it must be a Penn thing, because that is where my grandparents were from (Amish country). Anyway, one of my favorite things to eat is that soggy toast after it has been in the fridge overnight. I like to eat it cold.

As kids we used to have sugar sandwiches ( bread and butter with white sugar between) and as a special treat we were given a cube of butter cut from a normal butter stick, and allowed to dip it in a little bowl of sugar....yummy. I also used to take date sandwiches to picnics with the girl guides. Funnily enough no-one used to ask to swap with me :confused3

Sandwiches made with french fries between the slices of bread are popular as are ones made with chips. Also local food outlets sell a lot of portions of french fries with grated cheese over the top ( plus ketchup, mayo and mustard).

Strong stomachs are a must with some local food combinations....anyone tried pizza dipped in batter and deep fried?

mmmm.... maybe I'm the one that is strange - but I'm getting ideas for stuff I wanna try on this thread (especially that deep fried pizza!)
The only thing that gagged me was the Cow Tongue Tacos...

I love to eat raw potatoes - cube them and sprinkle some salt on top.
I also love a tomato and mayo sandwich, or a banana and mayo sandwich.

DH dips his doritos in ketchup.
He also eat Funyuns (or Onion-O's) and Beef Jerkey together.

Hellmann's mayo, spicy mustard and ketchup all mixed up together to dip my cheeseburgers and fries into

I always add a little ranch to my cottage cheese

I dip into cottage cheese and baked beans (not together) with potato chips. My mom does the same thing. Everyone looks at us and laughs at a bbq

My grandparents introduced me to putting blue cheese and maple syrup on waffles- yum!!! 2 of my kids eat the same thing now and love it!

A favorite of mine in the summer is a tomato, onion, blue cheese and balsamic vinegar salad.

A treat our whole family eats is a quesadilla heated up with creamy peanut butter and nutella. YUM!!! Not healthy at all, but it is a treat we enjoy once in a while.
