first of all I have put of doing my trip report due to my mixed emotiins going on right now and because My grandmother died 3 days after returning home from our vacation...

My family and I were shopping on Mainstreet picking up suvioniers. We had been in the store for quite awhile, children kept chainging minds. The Family day parade was passing by and caught the attention of my four year old who was sitting down in the rented MK strooler. He got up and started running towards the door to see I sent him back to give Dad the mug with trinkets in it. Now we know that he put in the cup holder on the back or stroller.

While out side son wanted autograph on the town mayor who was there and then asked to ride buzz. called husband on cell phone and we decided iwould take him and 17 year old to ride while he and daughter shopped somemore since he was having better luck with getting some realistic gifts for her friends. She started with $50 gifts for 6 different friends!

Husband left store and was headed towards the castle to meet up with us and called and asked if he should go back and pick up another suvioner blanket, we agreed x-mas present for someone. Next thing I know he calls saying that orange county police were taking him away and one officer was escorting my 12 yr old towards where i was.

we were tolld to go to city hall. i arrived there and nobody could offer me any help as to locating my husband and finding out what on earth was going on.

finally after demanding someto come and explain something to me I had two officers come out tell me to leave my children by the parade route and follow them.... down the middle of the parade route with one officer in front and one in back.

they allowed my husband when we reached him give me his weeding bands and wallet and gave me a map to orange county prison where i could bail him out in3 hours with $500. 18 hours later I had him back. we have a court date in dec...much more to tell but that is the short of it

Mind you I have been to Disney 18 times..My adult bedroom is all mickey..my tattoo that took 40years to get the nerve to due is a custom mickey...I'm crushed..we were going to buy time share at disney...

It was an honest mistake.

I'm sorry but 17 is a minor. I don't see any Disney official taking a parent away without providing an escort for the children.

Well no because they had to go ride buzz next instead of finishing shopping and paying for the items they picked up while shopping.

Since january i have been planning my grand gathering of 13 as well as my girlfriend and her family. we both enjoyed the Dis board for useful info and insight. But apparently you all have nothing better to do than to judge others.

I never once lied or fabricated to attract the attention of others especially the bunch who apparently live here.

I simply tried to relay the facts so others could learn from our mistakes.

Mommamouse, you might think you made a mistake (and that is fine) but you actually broke the law. Stealing, shoplifting is a crime.

Basically, all (or most) of the DISer's (as well as me) are finding a ton of holes in your story.

Were you looking for sympathy.... because, yes, it is a tough world out there but this country has laws and when laws are broken there are consequences.

Yes, this is a tad bit ...I recently did "Keys to the Kingdom" and were told that Disney has their OWN Security handle shoplifting issues. They actually said they are very discreet about it.

orange county police is stationed on disney. they have a blanket contract w/ disney so that disney is not the one that actually prosecutes.
