So, your four year old managed to wedge a coffee mug into that mesh baggie thing on the back of the stroller that is almost impossible to fit a kid's sport cup into? Instead of giving it to dad, or throwing it on the top or something?

orange county police is stationed on disney. they have a blanket contract w/ disney so that disney is not the one that actually prosecutes.

again i'm not looking for simpathy from any of YOU!

I simply finally took time out from making my Thanksgiving Dinner to get back in touch with Dis and this is what I found..Judgmental people!

i'M AM SO SORRY THAT MY MISFORTNUES ARE YOU ONLY FORM OF ENTERTAINMENT

MommaMouse, I do not want to be judgmental...especially at this time of year...but WHAT DID YOU REALLY EXPECT ALL OF US TO SAY WHEN YOU POSTED THIS STORY....? :confused3

Do not get upset with us at all!!! :confused3

You need to take a giant step backwards and stop, ponder and realize that you took items from a store without paying for them and were accused of shoplifting....RIGHT? Have I got the story correct? Did you want everyone on the DIS BOARDS to jump on your :furious: bandwagon...? :confused3

Like I said before in my other posts...you took an item w/o paying for it = stealing = prosecution.PERIOD.

What did YOU want to get from the DIS BOARDS after posting your story?

:confused3

And like I said before this is a tough pill to swallow...you will have your day in Court to explain yourself.

OK - I guess I've learned not to trust a 4 y.o. to return items that *I* took off the shelves... :confused3

The Family day parade was passing by and caught the attention of my four year old who was sitting down in the rented MK strooler. He got up and started running towards the door to see I sent him back to give Dad the mug with trinkets in it. Now we know that he put in the cup holder on the back or stroller.
The strollers at MK only have a mesh pocket in the back and it's not that hard to see through the mesh. How could your DH not have seen it? Really allowing your ds4 to run in by himself without maintaining visual contact is not too smart. You could have lost your son or worse he could have been stolen. I think worrying about going back to Disney should be the least of your worries.

Im wondering....if no one believes this story and everyone thinks the OP is a bit off her rocker, why does everyone keep replying and reading?

:confused3

Me, I dont care either way....the easiest way for me to find my old posts is to NEW post and search on my name. Which is what this is for. :teeth:

MommaMouse, how long was the DH detained and in what jail? What court did he appear..who set his bail at $500.00.

I still cant get past this fact, even at disney prices a mug and trinkets is maybe $30. I have never heard of anyone having to post bail for shoplifting $30.

Not to mention the son was told to give the mug and trinkets back to the father, but the mother did not watch to see where the son went and that he did not go to the father but to the stroller...that sounds very responsible.

If this happened with OC police, wouldn't it be part of public record? I know our local paper prints some of the arrests. Would there be a paper trail of the arrest?

I wasn't there so I don't know if it was true or not, but it seems a little far-fetched. I just can't see anything like that happening on Disney property over such a small $$$$ of merchandise. And Disney does so many things discreetly so I can't see them hauling someone off in the middle of a parade..??

My neighbors are boring ;) .

It is definatley true that the OC police are stationed at wdw - in sept we were leaving the MK and my dh (nypd sgt) noticed a uniformed oc police officer at the turnstiles of the MK and he was told that that was his "post".

While I don't know if the OP's story is true, I can tell you that the Orlando Sentinel ran a story about five years ago detailing that WDW was extremely aggressive in prosecuting shoplifters, even quite young ones.

The story stood out because it was so out of character for WDW. I'll try and find a link.

Arrrgh...I'm running out of graph paper, and my eraser broke. I'm going to figure this all out though! Was the 4 year old on the grassy knoll? Someone help me. I think I'm missing posts.
:rotfl: :rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl2:

Man these stories are cracking me up. Great entertainment!

This is without a doubt, my favorite day before Thanksgiving DIS thread. Thanks to all of you. Now back to your regularly scheduled DISing...

I don't know why I'm sharing this and I know it's OT, but I feel like we've all grown closer because of this thread. When I was a preteen, I once took a hot dog and didn't pay for it. I didn't enjoy it and felt guilty the whole time.

;)
we were going to buy time share at disney
How has no one picked up on this discrepancy? If they're such Disney people, why don't they call it DVC? :confused3

DUCKFAN: :lmao:

Several things don't make sense to me about all this:

-The POLICE left her MINOR children ALONE while she was MARCHED up MAIN ST like they were doing a CNN perp walk??

- I understand and it is their right for Disney to aggresively prosecute shoplifters. But to waste untold $$ on lawyers, court costs, etc. over a $30 mug?? I would think they would give them the old fire and brimstone 'why'd you do it you're not going to do it again because you are banned' speech and send them on their way.

- If something like this 'mis-understanding' happened to them, then surely it must have happened to someone else and chances are some media vulture (see killer Disney rides) would have been all over it and we would have heard it.

- As another poster observed, there must be some pretty good indisputable video tape evidence of the alleged 'mis-understanding' for this to go this far. If what OP says is true, video cameras must show something to that affect. And if Disney has the tapes, then they will see this.

- I also fail to see how Disney security would refuse to take the restitution and then escort teh family from the park. I would think any judge in the world would rip WDW for refusing that. Why waste the court's time???

I am just wondering why she wants to share this. Learn from her mistake??? Her mistake was to post here! :confused3
