The space shuttle

I was over at Cocoa for the launch today! It was amazing!

Hey, we were at Cocoa too! We were right on the causeway just before Port Canaveral.

We went to Epcot afterwards and stayed for the fireworks, which were AMAZING. It was a great day.

The launch was amazing from just outside the American Adventure! The fife and drum corps was playing patriotic tunes, and everyone in the area was clapping, cheering, crying, you name it! I was video taping and taking pictures!! An awesome sight, for sure. I said on my video "Good luck to our astronauts as they embark upon the ultimate American adventure!" :wizard:

My husband and I sat on a bench across from the cruise ships @ Port Canaveral and watched it launch. It was amazing. I got pictures but have to get them developed. It was amazing seeing, feeling it, hearing it. I was able to watch the last launch also....but was closer to home in Melbourne. Not quite the same....but still awesome. All I could say both times was "God Bless and keep you safe".

Here's my view from outside Spaceship Earth.

So cool! I would have loved to see that!

Not sure when your trip in December is exactlly, but NASA has Discovery scheduled for another launch December 14 (the launch window goes through December 31 if they have to scrub). You might just get to see one while you are here :-)

Side note... the launch of Atlantis is scheduled for August 28 (window extends through Aug 31st).

We spent Sat at the KSC Vistors Complex, but of course the shuttle got scrubbed that day :sad1: so we watched it for MK when it went up on the 4th of July. We are taking off work the entire launch window in August so we can go spend the week out on the coast :)

Thanksgiving 2002

I was there too when I saw this! the fireworks were going off with the magic kingdom when all of a sudden you see this light like the sun (not as bright, gut go with me!) zooming through the air amongst all these beautiful fireworks. I was standing on the frontier land bridge and it was one of the coolest things I've ever seen. Thank you for reminding me of this memory. :thumbsup2

that is one of the best things to see. my grandparents lived down by where the shuttled launch and we would go in the back yard and watch it.
