The Sopranos final episodes (SPOILERS!!!)

I was on the verge of yelling at my TV when Tony asks Paulie to go on that boat. Then Tony keeps asking him (Paulie) if he was the one who told Johnny Sack about the crack Ralph made about John's wife. Tony told Paulie it's no big deal, but Paulie did the right thing by still lying. I thought for sure Tony was going whack Paulie with that axe that was there on the side of the boat for cutting up fish. Tony has no loyalty to anyone except himself and is close to no one.

How about that dream Paulie had that he entered his condo and Big P was cooking sausage and Paulie asked Big P, if he will be standing upright when his time comes?:scared1: Just wild, IMO.

I thought for sure Tony was going to take out Paulie on the yacht.

You notice how some of the old characters kept coming up (Ralph, Big P). Next week seems pretty interesting. It looks like Phil is taking over the New York family...

As for this week, I think they are continuing to build things up to a climax. Paulie is always so loyal to Tony. Why would Tony want to wack him? Over some stupid joke that Ralph made? I remember Jonny Sack being really ticked off and it almost started a war. But come on, it's over and done with.

But could you see that he just didnt want to do it....

and then I think the reason for whipping the beer at Paulie was to knock him off balance and "off" himself by falling into the water?

Not so. Paulie almost flipped on Tony a season or two ago to side with Johny Sack. Paulie was upset that while in jail for a short strecth that Tony did not visit or contact him.

Oh! The wife just pointed out that last season, Paulie did not want to contribute money to Tony's wife when Tony was in the coma.

to much junior last night
and it was funny that paulie wouldnt admit he was the one that told about johnnys wife

I actually really enjoyed the Junior storyline. It was so sad. I was wondering why they focused on him so much, though, except I think they are just tying up loose ends. It seems like Junior will absolutely no longer be a viable member of the family, the story, etc. He will just meekly go on and this is how his life will be from now on. This was his last hurrah, so to say. His last act of power and nonconformity.

I loved the Junior storyline so much more than Tony and Paulie!

It was funny, when Tony asked him to go fishing, I said, "Uh oh!" and DH said, "Awwww... Tony loves Paulie and wants to go fishing." :rotfl2: It takes him a while. He thought I was wrong up until the point when Paulie kept flashing back to Big *****. ETA: That cracks me up that his name is edited out! Big P, I mean.

I agree. Junior has been reduced to a mindless old man sitting with a cat in his lap on pet therapy day. He's given up.

I would've liked to have learned more about the asian guy that was rooting for Junior though.

I thought maybe he would spill his guts to the kid but he didnt
I thought for sure he was gonna whack paulie
There are only 5 left I would think they would be doing more
theres little to no action
not how I wanna see it go out

My Replay taping didn't include the previews for next week. Could someone please fill me in on what's coming up?

Thanks!

It's not really over the joke that Tony is mad at Paulie for...its for the fact that Paulie can't keep his mouth shut. When the Feds were digging up the body of what they thought was Tony's 1st hit - Tony was nervous and all the way down to FL, Paulie kept glamorizing it and talking about it.

Tony wants to keep Paulies mouth permantly shut.

I didn't see them either! I got up and walked away from the TV too soon, and it's not on my recording either.

I hope it's on next week! Usually when they skip previews that means they're skipping a weekend.

Did anyone see the previews?

I saw the previews, but they looked like they were more of the rest of the season previews, not just next week...Just lots of quick shots of characters but not much else...did look like Tony was congratulating Phil though, if I remember right...you might be able to view it on hbo.com

Paulie feels left out and betrayed by Tony at times. That's why he was talking to Johnny Sack and trying to get in good with him and Carmine, so he could switch crews. Johnny Sack of course had no plans for that and used Paulie for information. Paulie used to work for Tony's dad back in the day and be a member of his crew. He has seen Tony giving way too much attention and breaks to Christopher and others over the years and Paulie seems to be the odd man out, so to speak. Paulie has a "old school" mentality and thinks his years of service and loyalty to Tony and his father should count for something. Tony may talk like a boss from the old days with loyalty and being true the mafia oath, but seems to have no problem throwing anybody under the bus to save his hide. Tony feels Paulie is a liability to squeal if the Feds arrest him and Paulie does now where all the bodies are buried, literally.

I have a feeling Paulie wont be long for this world and he knows it. He kept flashing back to that scene where they shot Big P on the boat, wrapped his body in a tarp loaded down with chains and dumped it in the Ocean. The dream he had of Big P cooking food in Paulie's kitchen was another sign as well. Dreams in the "Sopranos world" usually turn out to mean something.

Disneyfan67, I agree with everything you just posted.

Usually most smart people do.:rotfl2: Just kidding.:goodvibes

I have to admit that I'm a pretty big fan of the Sopranos and have 5 seasons on DVD that I watch on a regular basis. I find I keep learning or seeing different things every time I watch them. My wife came late to the Sopranos craze but loves the show like I do and is always pumping me for info on the characters and what happened to them. It's gotten to the point that I almost know what's going to happen or what will happen in a scene. Like Paulie on the boat and how Tony kept asking him if he was the one who told Johnny Sack. I'm almost 100% positive that Tony would have killed Paulie if he would have told the truth. I think Tony knows his run as crime boss is coming to an end and he will have no problem "throwing someone under the bus" to avoid be arrested or serving jail time. I could see him going into the witness protection program at the end of the series and taking everyone down with his testimony. I don't believe his talk about being a "stand up guy" and keeping true to the oath

I did, but they didn't seem to be specific on next week's show... if that makes sense. In fact, we watched them twice, to make sure. The Tivo didn't record them, though.

First time for me chiming in on this thread - I'm holding off on making any snap judgements on this season, so far. I do think it's much better than the previous season, in that it doesn't require quite as many brain cells to analyze what's going on, LOL. It's always interesting to go back and re-watch any of the episodes, though. They usually make much more sense. LOL.

I might be in the minority here, but I liked the focus on Junior. Dominic Chainese played last night's role brilliantly, IMO. We say glimpes of the past, present, and future. And I was on the edge of my seat when Paulie & Tony were on the boat. Thought for sure Paulie would be swimming with the fishes at episode's end. LOL
