Arrgh! I was nuts at work all day, chomping at the bit to come home and install it, but now that it's installed, it won't run! I get the "Please insert the correct dvd" error. I tried everything on the tech support site with no luck, so I've sent them an email. Hope I hear back soon! Anyone have pictures to post yet?

I did play the Curious Family in Strangetown. Those brothers are just dying to get pregnant by aliens....LOL! They make good fathers though. I've got little alien girls running around. Having two small ones at the same time is pretty time consuming.

Woohoo! (um, that word has new meaning now, with this game, maybe I should use another!)

I finally got my Sims to work last night- had to change a setting on my dvd-rw. Lots of fun so far! I wish there were more objects included, but I guess I'm just used to the eighty zillion I've collected over the years for Sims 1 .

I'm dying to see someone dance with a mop!

I love how when messy sims eat, food flies everywhere! And leftover dishes look radioactive!

I also wish there were more objects. I guess that's what expansion packs are for.

I have a feeling that cars will be one of the EP themes. Have you noticed all the parking spaces at the community lots?

I still haven't found Bella. Anybody have a screen of her yet?

OK. I have an interesting shot. Jenny Smith of Strangetown was trying to repair the PC. Her Mechanical skills weren't quite up the task. She got fried.

I'm playing the Specter Family in Strangetown. Olive died. I went to the Smith Family and allowed Johnny to grow up. He and Ophelia are now engaged and johnny now lives with her. I turned off aging to pump up their skills. I don't know why I'm obssessed with that, but I am. I inadvertently moved Johnny's Mom, Jenny, into the Specter house. So I'm maxing out her skills, too. Then I'll return her to her beloved Pollination Technician #9.

On the Specter lot, there are many tombstones. The ghosts do haunt and scare my Sims from time to time. But they leave trails of water everywhere! I don't understand it. After a night of haunting, my Sims are outside mopping up! Bizarre! I deleted most of the tombstones. I converted that area into a party area. Being a Popularity Sim, Johnny loves to entertain. When Johnny and Ophelia are finished with their skills, I'll have their wedding.

I know Elder men can get Adult females pregnant. I wonder if they themselves can get pregnant? I'm thinking of having Pollination Tech #9 get abducted by aliens.

I was playing one of my families tonight, and they had a Chef's Salad for dinner...It must have had peppers or cucumbers in it, judging by the, mmm, how should I say, toxic gaseous emissions emanating from them after they ate! Never thought I would laugh so hard at a Sim pooting!

Well it has just reached our shores & the DVD version as well....DVD version is $10 more. We would like to get it, but don't have $90 to spare just now

ok - I've been playing for the past 48 hours it seems. I have a severe case of carpal tunnel in my right hand. hehhe

First family I made - got the wife preggo in the hot tub (heheh - LOVED the "movie" too funny!) I love how they moods/needs change with pregnant sims! she had twins. a day before their first birthday, she was repairing the dishwasher and died. Then the father tried to repair it (he had 2 mechanical skills!) and he died. So the orphange came to take the kids.

Love the farting sims...too funny! I nearly peed my pants laughing!

I could spend HOURS designing houses! it took a while to get used to the new controls, but the graphics are UNREAL! SOOO much smoother then the first sims! I uninstalled the Sims 1 and am passing it off to my brother...

The Sims 2 is computerized cocaine I tell ya...

Got the DVD edition for Tanya last night, and I must say, it's addictive!

I've been making custom clothes & the like cause it's killer fun! Tanya's family had twin boys, and the house was insane!

LOL, Stinkerbelle, it is so addictive. My DH took care of the kids on Sat and Sun. I went downstairs and shut myself into our Home Office w/ my computer and Sims Strategy guide. On Sat, I played for about 12 hrs with some breaks and Sun for about 5. I love the building of houses. The family I created moved 3 times, I just had to move them into bigger and better houses.
I also love how one person can buy the whole family's wadrobe.

I found that the sims are obssessed with the Garden Gnomes, put some in your yard and watch your visitors .
Oh yeah, don't let your Sim have a baby too close to the time they turn elderly, they seem to have a difficult time taking care of the baby.
I had a blast playing this weekend but now I return to real life, at least until my DDs nap time. LOL

Tanya spent around 9 hours playing it yesterday... Took her 6 hours just to make a small 2 bedroom house

I love all the little things about this game; the TV that actually shows programs (like the news broadcast that shows the town, the cooking show where the stove catches fire...),the way they appear to actually be playing chess when they play chess, the way one Sim will get mad at another Sim for flushing the toilet while they are taking a shower...

I did some digging in my strategy guide and discovered a LOT about ghosts!

The ones that are blue leave water trails and they died by drowning. Red, smoking ghosts died in a fire. Ghosts that die of hunger raid the fridge. You can anger a ghost by moving its stone or urn. If a ghost's spouse remarries, here comes trouble. If another Sim has vandalized or kicked a ghost's marker, the ghost will get nasty in its hauntings. Ghosts will possess things like the teddy bear and kiddie xylophone.

I must report that it crashed on me last night. I've noticed little bugs and glitches, but it actually crashed last night. It's not my PC. I designed it specifically to handle the Sims 2. I just hope a patch will be forthcoming.

I'm psyched to see all of you enjoying the game so much. Please share some screens of these families and homes you are creating.....

It's a lot of fun and offers many different ways to play.....build houses, design clothes, create families, have Sims lead fulfilled lives, wreak havoc on Sims, play God, kill off Sims, do your own little Sims soap opera, make movies, etc.

I love how townie sims passing through will stop and read your newspaper! And that teen sims who don't keep their hygene high will get acne! I love that they walk around the house while talking on the phone now, too!

some of these things that you guys are finding out are so funny (acne/ghosts)...I can't wait to submerse myself into this game again! hehehe (haven't played since sunday.)

looking back at the Sims 1...seems kinda like Pong now, doesn't it? heheh
