I got mine yesterday and played around with it last night. Right now I am playing it on my laptop so that I can have something to do on the flight down to Orlando on Saturday. But I find it incredibly hard to control on my laptop. I don't have the room to use a mouse. I guess I will get used to it.

I don't know if I am going to like the 29 days of adulthood. I get very attached to my characters.

I started a family last night and played for an hour. I like it so far. I'm not sure I like the room controls, though.

what - they only stay adults for 29 days? then move to elderly?
i'm sure there is a cheat somewhere that will let you control the aging process.

The guidebook says that there is an elixir you can take, and it extends adult time by 3 days. And you can use it up to 5 times. But if you use it wrong, it could advance the process by 3 days. eep.

I read somewhere that there's a potion the Sims can drink to take a week or so off their age. Heading out to buy my copy in about an hour- can't wait!

So far I am loving my game. It is playing really great on my desktop replacement computer (can't call it a laptop, its to darn big).

There is a cheat to turn aging off. The link below should have it.

My computer needs a different video card (my comp is only 9 months old)

yep - and there's another cheat to get even MORE money at once.

no more sitting tehre doing !;!;!;! for 30 seconds. heheheh

there's one cheat there - the stretch one - you can make giants! hehehehe (this page has really changed since I first looked at it. sweet!)

It's pretty cool! I've only played a Sim I created and put in Pleasantview. I'm just trying to get the hang of the controls. They are pretty neat! Fulfilling the wants is fun. I have an elder popularity Sim with aging turned off. He needs lots of interaction though, but he befriends just about everyone.

I like the shopping. You can't just change clothes anymore. If you want other Everyday clothes, you have to buy them.

The 'WooHoo' cinematic for the hot tub had me LMBO! The 'Woo Hoo' in bed has fireworks.....LOLOL!

I've only hit the tip of the iceberg. I need to go find Bella!

What stores released it today? the PC version? I am still worried about playing it. My laptop only has 256 memory and while thats on the lowend... and most ppl can play it... it worries me.

oh I'm so psyched.
I pre-ordered the DVD version from Amazon.com on August 30th and choose free shipping. (I'm cheap!)
They gave me an estimated delivery date of mid October.
No biggie - I'll be in Disney at the end of september anyway.

well - it's being delivered to my house today! woo-hoo! that was FAST! very impressive! can't wait to hog the computer all weekend. (between that and my new MP3 player that should be coming shortly, DH doesn't have a CHANCE of playing Call of Duty this weekend! hehehe)

I installed it last night, and it sure is a whole heck of a lot of fun. The movements of the Sims are incredible. I made two Sims, and they got married, and are having a baby now. Just have to wait for the baby to be born, so it will be interesting to raise the baby.

I try not to use the get more money cheat, so it's going to be tough to make it into a bigger house without that in only 29 days of adulthood, and the elder period.

Nancy, I have a Dell computer that is only about six months old, and it initially wouldn't let me load it on, but then when I tried again, it worked. I don't know what I did.

It's been insane at my house this week so I haven't had time to clean or play more than an hour of Sims2.

This weekend is going to be cold and rainy so guess what I'm going to be doing?

Crap. I am really worried w/my 256 in the laptop. Which is why I have not gone out and bought the game yet... My desk top has 512 but it isn't hooked up (no desk and no monitor, we left it in Alaska).

1024MB RAM. My computer is new though.......6 months old.
