The Side effects of the AP-Trip#6 Oct 10 Final thoughts and some TMI

About 6:45 I head back out to the bus stop and see this fella.
IMG_6957.jpg
I am heading here for EMH.

IMG_6960.jpg

I am a little sad that they discontinued AK PM EMH. They were saying it was not well attended. There were few areas open and those seemed crowded but I think something is going on and they need the evenings to do construction. Rumor of attractions between the train to CS and Kali were swirling so maybe they need the evening to do work.

Where am I heading? My goals were Taste of Africa, FOLK ( of course), EE and whatever else I felt like doing.
It was 7:34 so I made my way past the dragon.

IMG_6962.jpg

Too bad the foliage is covering up most of him.
I spy Mickey

These are the same shot but I am think flash and no flash? I guess at dusk the pictures takes on a whole different look depending on whether you use the flash or not.
Of course

My favorite picture

Look a non – tumble monkey picture- oh wait you can see him in the back.

IMG_7008.jpg

Remember that face though. I have a feeling he moonlights as a EMH rope drop performer.

Continued next post.

Yikes I have enough for a shrine. j/k This may have been where I declared my favorite. Not just for the obvious reasons. He was enthusiastic, talented and of course he caught my eye.

Next time you are in that show pay attention to the monkeys. Once they come out they are in the rest of the show. They may go off to the side but are in the rest of that show.

A not too bad one of the flying performer.

IMG_7019.jpg

Finally walking out after getting my monkey fill. I love that Ak themes practically everything, even the base of ordinary useful lights.

IMG_7022.jpg

I must have been so ga-ga over the monkeys I totally forgot about the Taste of Africa. I ducked in here instead.

IMG_7023.jpg

It was about 8:30 when I went in. When I exited I suddenly realized I need to see fireworks again for a last time.
So I left and went to MK.

IMG_7025.jpg

Waked in about 20 minutes to fireworks. Found a spot but not a primo one. Of course not I got there about 20 minutes before it started.

IMG_7027.jpg

Darned lightpole.

Loved the colors, now if I could just photoshop out the lightpole.

At least they turn out the light during the fireworks.
Made my way to

Pit stop

IMG_7051.jpg

Off for a nighttime cruise. Our skipper was great. Here is a very dark picture of Connor.

IMG_7054.jpg

After the cruise I stopped for a Dole Whip and then headed out.

Now I was satisfied and could pack up and go home.

Next up the last day and the long ride home.

Sure doesn’t look like much was going on. What will they do with these giant numbers?

IMG_6946.jpg

That Earl bread is so good!

The numbers are gone now. There is a lot of activity over there now, and you can see the painting on some of the buildings. They are going to be cool, but from what I have seen, I honestly think I am going to like them more on the outside than on the inside. They are just a little bit overdone for me as far as interior decor, and because we're paying for that decor, they're overpriced. I have a feeling I'll be doing way more visiting there for pictures than staying there.

I do hope they open up the bridge and you can walk between the two. It would be silly not to but I can see some kind of barrier being put up to discourage walking between the two. I think the suites are overpriced and if they are not being booked, they will have to lower the price or just offer lots of discounts

Same here :sad2:

This photo is PERFECT, Pat.

I like that one too and I think I might have the software that Glenn used to make the panorama can also fill in certain spots.

I played around with it and look what the program did.

You and your tumble monkey pictures. I had to laugh at the "backside" ones.

That picture of the castle turned out great!! :worship:

enjoyed the update, are the prices of the regular rooms normal.?

I think so. Then again :scared1:

http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/resorts/art-of-animation-resort/rates-rooms/

They are listed as $45 more than a standard room at POP. the family suites are $320 and the regular rooms are listed at $130. Yikes.

Ahhh but doing apples to apples - same time of year the rooms are about the same as the pool view rooms at POP. Preferred is more $140 and $145 and standard is less.

We will give them a try at some point, but I'm sure we'll either try to wait until value season or just add on a night at the end to try out a suite. I love the outside! I think they're really doing an awesome job with that, and I really look forward to taking a zillion pictures over there. I just think the insides are a little bit over the top for me. They look a little too kiddish. What they have at the All Stars and Pop is enough inside the room them for me personally.

I had the wonderful opportunity to meet jeremysdisneymom and her family. Erika was in Charlotte for a conference and we had a chance to catch up with each other.

I met them at their hotel and we went to lunch. They were gracious to treat me even though I really wanted to treat them. We had a nice time just chatting. I hope they enjoy Charlotte a bit while they are here.

This was taken with my phone. Sorry about the quality but at least we have proof that it happened.

Hey, I know her.

And her!

I know both of those hers!

So glad you guys got to meet! :cool1:
What did you eat?

Erika had a short break for lunch so we wandered as far as Fuel Pizza down the block and across the street. Nothing fancy but it was a good lunch. ::yes::
