The Side effects of the AP-Trip#6 Oct 10 Final thoughts and some TMI

The lioness pictures are great. I knew Memom would not like seeing Chip and Dale in a bubble.

I was happy when she was out in the relative open area. Even if she was asleep.

Chip and Dale in the bubble scares MeMom:eek:

I would say they are playing and having fun, she says they are screaming to get out.:rotfl:

It's so obvious. ::yes::

The thought of Brooklynn in the bubble on water last weekend made me unable to breathe well for a while.

I think you were better off seeing pictures rather than seeing that in person.

We just left AK, past the sleeping guy and past Eeyore at the tree. We board a bus but to where?

Here is the garland.

No guesses???

Here is the sign.

And a garbage can of course.

This does not do it justice. I had some really hungry friends so food was a priority.

Down the stairs, restroom break.

To Mara.
We had a nice late lunch and of course zebra domes.

It is getting dark and it is 5:20pm. We catch a bus back to AK and then to CSR.
A couple of night shots.

A short break to get heavier clothes on and I pack a backpack. In my pack are a couple of large beach towels because I am not counting on us being able to get chairs. I also chilled a bottle of champagne. I carefully wrapped it in the center of my backpack. We took our mugs and set off to get to the Poly.

Our route – Being that MK was closed earlier I though going to EPCOT and then the monorail would be a better choice.
Epcot bus came along and we arrived without incident. We approach the monorail.
We are stopped by bag check. Uh oh am I busted?????

I have stayed at AKL quite a few times and never noticed these tiles in the bathroom! :goodvibes

I was thinking the other day how good you are at catching details and also how much you notice other people's behavious/clothes. And I was wondering whether this has something to do with your profession? I guess as a lifeguard you really are trained to notice things that are not normal as early as possible? Well, it definitely makes your TR very enjoyable! :thumbsup2

What did A and B think of Animal Kingdom Lodge? Were they suitably impressed?

Uh oh....bag check at the monorail?

Ah yes, that annoying bag check PRE-the monorail boarding at Epcot. I wish it wasn't set up that way - it makes using Epcot as a transfer hop a tad annoying, especially during this particular day with those crowds!!

Great picture of the lioness! I don't think I have ever seen her, and I've only ever seen the lion sleeping-just barely the top of his head. We didn't ride the safari last trip, so I'm really looking forward it!

Ahhhh, I can't wait to stay at AKL in June, even if it is just for a couple of nights :goodvibes

Yikes, hope you make it through bag check!

Now I look in every Disney bathroom for the tile. Something to check out for the next trip. :thumbsup2

At Disney I make it point to see the details, Until the last few trips and until I read others TR's I missed many details too. Now that I know where I am going and I am not chasing small children any more I can look around at those details.

I like to think that I do observe people's behavior more so because I watch and train people to watch people for a living.

I think when at Disney we all see the unusual- just some of us take pictures of it. ;)

A and B did like AKL. Unfortunately at that time they were also very hungry so I am afraid we did not take the time to ohhh and ahhhh over the lobby. We made a beeline to Mara with a pitstop along the way.

Another visit with a slower pace is definitely needed.

I so was not thinking about the bag check being before the monorail.:scared1:

I was not even thinking about it when I packed my special package and made the decision to get to the Poly via EPCOT and the monorail.
I was just thinking the MK was really going to be a zoo so I wanted to avoid that.

I was glad she was out on a lower part of the rock and visible. The girls had no idea how special it was seeing her so visible.

Yes staying at AKL is on my list too. :cloud9:

Bag check was an interesting experience. :rolleyes1

Pat, great AK updates. I love the series of hippo pictures. And your photopass photos are great.

You got some really pretty pictures of my favorite resort at night, and my "first ime resort, AKL. :)

I hope you didn't get "busted." Can't wait to hear all about it.

Thanks for the kind words. The hippo getting out was a sight in person. :scared1:

I was not expecting that bag check, even though I know it is there, I was not thinking about it being BEFORE the monorail.

Anxious to hear if you now have a Disney criminal record for your contraband. :rolleyes1

I absolutely am on pins and needles for your next update- HURRY UP!!! (cept, I'll probably miss it since my company is arriving for dinner in about 5 minutes!)
