I'm going to D23 Expo (or whatever they've renamed it this year) and I saw this listed as an exhibitor. I had NO idea what it was but now I'm adding it to my visit list!! I'd love to see Converse or Vans make these actual shoes.

I haven't watched any of the Olympics, but I did find Today's series with Ina Garten. I'd love to go food shopping in Paris. They have baskets for the farmers market, I'm sure I'd need at least one big supermarket cart...

I didn't come up with this idea, but they really need to have just regular people trying to do Olympic events so we get a better sense of just how incredible these athletes are.

They'd probably need like a squishy pillow suit to try pole vaulting though

Agreed! Incredible to watch. After I watched that I went out and ran 10k myself. I didn't get a medal, but Garmin gave me the weekend 5k badge.... so good enough for me!

Vans makes some nice Disney shoes (I may or may not have a pair). Would love to see some Converse ones but doubt that will happen while the Disney-Vans partnership is still a thing.

Absolutely incredible performance. Each lap was under 65 seconds. This is my favorite quote about the race: “The race was so fast that the first 13 men all finished inside the previous Olympic record of 27:01.17.”

Which really says something about the quality of the runners, but also about shoe tech.

There’s going to be a reckoning with shoe tech at some point (there has to be, right?!) but I’m not sure when that will happen.

I would be remiss to not mention that Haley Batten who was raised in PC took silver in Mountain Bike Cross Country, overcoming a flat tire, even.

It is the highest finish for an American ever in mountain biking
