Congrats on finishing your race! Sorry you had some bad experiences while out on the course. For the most part, runners are a good group of folks, but like with so many things, there is always a few bad eggs. Good luck on you upcoming races and keep up the good work!
Hills are relative. My idea of hills living in VA is going to be different than yours in BR. I've not done the race yet (on my list for 2018). I've read there are a few hills, but it's no Blue Ridge Marathon. I think the LR marathon seems manageable. You just aren't going to BQ there. But, isn't that what Houston is for?
@Dis5150 could probably give more insight to the hills. I believe she's done the half, so she may have familiarity with the course.
Looking for some recommendations for a spring marathon (Mid March to mid May) and was curious if anyone had a recommendation? The closer to may, the farther north I would like to go to get ideal weather.
@IamTrike how did you like the Tobacco Road Marathon? How's the course and weather? Would you recommend it?
QOTD: Since today is election day, todays question will focus on that. Did you or are you going to vote? Are you going to have to adjust your running plans to both run and vote today?

That's awesome news, congratulations!! Can you be my trainer?!I've posted in here a few times about the problems I have been having with my ITB.
I just wanted to let people know that after several months of dedicated physio exercises - I got through the three races at Wine and Dine weekend completely unscathed. No pain during the race, or afterwards (I happily ran down a set of stairs at the Boardwalk hours after which made me want to do cartwheels!).
The added bonus? All those pistol squats for five months gave my thighs added strength - which meant for the first time ever I've run a half and don't have any thigh pain afterwards. In fact I have no muscle pain at all after the three races. This has made me realise the importance of strength training, stretching (after a race, not just before) and foam rolling. It has made a world of difference not just to how my injury has healed, but also how I have recovered after the races.

I did vote. No run as I'm still resting my foot from the tendinitis. It's almost gone though so I may try and get in a mile or two this weekend.QOTD: Since today is election day, todays question will focus on that. Did you or are you going to vote? In other news, my sinus infection has returned and is kicking my butt. I feel like this whole training season is going down hill fast as its been one thing after another lately.
That would require a passport which I don't have. I guess I could get one but international travel seems like a expensive option. I'll look into it though.
I have seen them at a race expo last year and that medal is massive. I think I've read that each year that make it a little bit bigger than the previous years... If so, they are going to have some interesting issue in about 20 years lol. Hills?

Not as expensive as you might think...we just booked our flights for Marathon Weekend a couple weeks ago after planning to do the drive for the first time...Niagara Falls, NY to MCO for $80 return taxes included. Cheaper than driving! Also, your American dollar goes 30% further in Canada![]()
I voted early about a week and a half ago. I just wished there was a code I could enter into my cable box to verify I had voted and opt out of campaign ads for the remainder of the season!

Been watching Netflix and Amazon almost exclusively the last few months. Even my football is contaminated by this garbage.I'm glad we cancelled our TV service. Florida ads are nothing but politics this fall.
