The Running Thread - 2016

This is my goal for RnR Vegas too, it's going to be hard since it is going to be a flat course at night in the desert (I feel like everything about that screams PR)!
I know, right!?! But it will be crowded and there will be lots of stuff to see and take in :) I'm going to try to concentrate on that and having fun. Plus tired legs from all the walking at the expo and around Vegas may play a role.

Well the MRI results are in, and I'm NORMAL! They found absolutely nothing abnormal including cancer, cysts, bone marrow issues, fractures, sort tissue issues, and muscle issues. I guess I'm more baffled that it's completely normal, then if there were something there. I mean I can feel a distortion. However, I'll continue to play it by ear and as long as it doesn't cause me any significant issues then I won't worry about it.

Happy to hear things are normal. just take it easy is you need and good luck with training for WDW!

November goals are pretty much the same as October (stick to the plan, stay healthy, etc). I can't decide if I want to try to PR for my half in two weeks. It will probably be a morning of decision based on how I am feeling.

@LSUlakes have fun at Gameday! It came to my school when I was in college and it was a really cool experience to be apart of. We were there for both the Friday evening sportscenter spot and Saturday morning. It was awesome!

QOTDII: This weekend has high potential. This Saturday college gameday is coming to campus. Our tailgate is about a block away from where they are going to be. If everything works out, I should finish up my long run around 9:30 and could walk over with a sign. The question is, what sign can I make with reference to DIS, LSU, and Bama? I am open to suggestions... Anyone watch the show? LSU needs to win because Saturday is also my birthday, not a exciting number (33). Two more years until a new age group for races. lol
If you want the sign to be seen on TV you will likely need to get there before 9:30...

I watch the show but I don't know how to incorporate the Dis, Bama, and LSU. Sorry that I am no help there lol.

ATTQOTD: Now that I am back into regular running, I want to keep this up during November. However, I am going to be on a long (3.5weeks) vacation starting in the second half of the month. Part of that will be a cruise on the Fantasy and while I have run on cruise ships before, I find that it depends on the weather quite a bit. Last cruise we had a lot of wind and that caused them to close the running track and when I tried to run on the treadmill in the gym, I nearly fell off and was starting to get sea sick from the movement. At least staying at WL at WDW will get me access to running trails though. So, the plan is to continue to run short runs three times a week for a total of 50km for the month.

In years past I would camp out on campus when bama came to town because reserving our tailgate spot was a must. If gameday happend to be there, then I would partake in both. It made for some really long days, but a lot of fun. At this point I rather get a good night sleep and get to campus around 5:30AM set up the tailgate and then run my 20 miler. It's not my turn to cook this game so I don't have a bunch of prep work that I normally do for things like roasting a pig. To be in my 20's again and have that amount of energy.

ATTQOTD: November running goals: Along with my usual goal of following my training plan I've laid out, I want to make sure at least two of those runs per week are outside and not just treadmill runs (I think I can. I think I can. I think I can) Also, I want to make sure I don't miss any days of my 10 minute strength routine I do.

November will be a challenge, as I'm traveling for three weeks to five different cities in Asia. (Unless touring Shanghai, Tokyo and Hong Kong Disney parks can count as runs!) But every single run is on my calendar, with all the details. I'm packing my running gear and have scoped routes and made sure all my hotels have treadmills, just in case. Here we gooooo!
Have fun and stay safe during your travels! I hope you'll come back and tell us how you like the Disney parks in Asia!!

Rankings, records and then #NoMath ... that's all I've got right now.

But let us know what you put! I'm going to have to DVR it on Saturday (SOMEBODY I KNOW IS DOING IRONMAN THAT I'M SPECTATING SO I CAN'T WATCH LIVE), but I'll definitely watch to keep an eye out!
