ANYTHING overlooking a parking lot, imho, should be standard.

A major part of the Contemporary Tower MK view, which now costs a premium to book, is a very large parking lot....

True snowbunny, but at least you have the added perk of seeing the MK in the distance. I was referring to rooms that simply look ahead and see just parking lot. Maybe I'm not aware of the views you're referring to ? I stayed at the Contemp (14th floor) and while I could see the parking lot below, it was 20-25% of the view. The majority of the view was the MK view. I had a BWV "preferred" room in '03 where the primary view (75% approx) was the valet parking lot. I did have a glimpse of the TOT if I stood out on the balcony and turned all the way to the right. From inside my room, all I could see was the parking lot. From inside my Contemp room, I could see the castle and all. Now, in fairness to you, maybe there are some MK view Contemp rooms that do not have a view of MK ? But a parking lot ? I was not aware of this. I've only stayed there once. I would feel pretty cheated if I paid premium price for a MK view at the Contemp and >50% of the view was a parking lot.

View from our room at CBR, Room 2549 --

Thanks CatBertDave99. I'm staying here next month---it was the only resort I could get on last minute. Your pics are reassuring me. I was a little nervous because I've never stayed at this resort and didn't know what to expect. Looks really nice ! Anyone know what other kind of views one can get at CBR ? Do alot have these water views ? I have a standard room reservation (again...all I could get).

Your standard room may have a view like we had, or it may have a view of a courtyard or some trees. The courtyards are really nice -- we're going back to CBR in March, and to be honest, I'd love to have one of the courtyards right outside my door to sit at and drink a cup of coffee early in the morning. The whole resort is beautiful... you'll love it!

AKL Savannah View. Can't remember the room number! Amazing view (but we loved the Poly more)!

Great work poly princess -you have made my day!!
We will try to post when we get back from POR and SSR in 3 weeks!!

Polynesian- Aotearea- not sure of the room number, but this is on 2nd floor of the side facing away from the lagoon- garden view

BEST ROOM VIEW EVER! Polynesian- Aotearoa- Room 3222. I paid for garden view, but I think they upgraded me![/QUOTE]

I so agree!!!!!!!!
I had almost the same room in 1999. We had 3224, I never forgot because it was my favorite room! I also thought I had been upgraded also, but I believe it really is a garden view. At night is was the best because as you know you could see the castle changing colors. We left our curtains open so we could see it, kind of like a night light.
On a different note I had to laugh when I saw your cat, my cat looks like her twin, and yours sayings about the krispy creme are also me. When I showed my dh your post he said that's you, and would not believe me until I scrolled down to your pic.

I wish i could post my view, but I cannot post attachments yet. :guilty:

I am really enjoying this thread!!!

...this photo was taken looking slightly to the right. There were trees and shrubbery to both sides, then the golf course straight ahead. Very calming and peaceful, perfect for sitting on the balcony and destressing!

AKL savannah view -- Sunset Savanna -- 2253...

IMG_08582.jpg

The photo makes the view appear better than it really was. It was at the 'elbow' off Kudu Trail where a little 'wing' juts out into Sunset Savanna. We could see more building than savannah, but we booked standard view and were upgraded for free, so no complaints here! Had we booked and paid for savannah view I think I would have been disappointed with the room location. We did see plenty of giraffe though.
