The Ridiculous Vmk Banning

Even if they did get rid of the 10 year ban (which I don't see them doing), best case scenario is that you would still probably have a 1 year ban, so you're still going to have to wait a long time to get back in the game anyway, and you might even lose interest in the game by the time a year is up.

Nah, I dont think I will ever lose interest in the game. Besides, I dont care if it is 1 year, this year is almost over, so I would barely need to wait any time until I get back on. (which I'm sure I will :goodvibes )

:guilty: I don't think anyone should be happy after they get banned for 10 years. I mean some of the time its not even because of the person who did get banned. I share an IP adress with my sister, both different accounts, different laptops, but under the same roof, same IP adress. She isn't as high on VMK as I am, so here I am 4 months later still trying my hardest to get VMK back! Like I said before, I wouldnt be stuck in this mess if it wasn't for her. So please guys, Please partipate on this big launch, for I think alot of people who don't know about this will be please to find out when the 10 year ban gets removed. I freaking love this game, so put yourself in my shoes and think about it. You would probably be pist off ur head if this happened to you. :sad2: :surfweb:

If it was your IP, and not your account that got banned, just get a new IP. Your sister will still be out of luck, but you'll be golden.

Thanks for the help there, but we both share the same IP. If I get a new IP, then she probably gets a new IP. Unless I only do it on my computer....

Well, anyways I dont really like that line of thought about getting around your ban by changing your IP. I mean, there has to be another way. Besides, you will get banned for changing your IP adress. VMK is cracking down on it now! :Pinkbounc

If you change it they can't do a thing legally its your choice if you want a new Ip not vmk's and the 10 year ban happened to my friend and she was back on 2 months later after sending nothing to vmk

sorry i have to say this but get on with your life read a book forget about vmk they wont change the 10 ban because now they will probaly ban u forever and never let u on again for trying to organize this sorry

You can be a new IP easily. If you can't, try using anonymizer software. You need not worry about your sister having the same IP. As it was explained to me (and feel free, anyone, to correct my error if I'm wrong), the IP ban works like this: they ban the offending account (so changing IP wouldn't help your sister unless she made a new account, like nanoer did), and they ban the IP address so that anyone -- you, your dad, your friend, the neighbor stealing your wifi bandwidth, anyone -- who signs in from your IP address will be blocked. But those other accounts can still sign in from a different IP address.

And if it doesn't work, hey, you're no worse off.

Question about this:

If this truly is the case, does that mean anyone else affected by the IP ban isn't truly banned and they're still eligible to be a CL?

I already tried that, my Dad introduced it to me. Everytime I tried to log on VMK with a new account and a different IP adress, (using the anonymizer) it said something was wrong with my internet/settings or firewall. Anyone have any idea what could be wrong? My dad checked, and found nothing wrong, any of you have an idea what could be wrong? :confused3

I tried out some of this anonymizer stuff and check my ip on a online ip thing but it still showed the same ip. You could just wait 2 months like I did and my IP changed.

The 10 year ban is issued appropriately, I think. I haven't seen a case where a 10 year ban was given because of a small misdemeanor. If the ban was unfair, the person who was banned or the parent of the kid who was banned can write to vmk about the issue and try to get it cleared up that way.

I don't think it is a good idea to take away the ten year ban because there are those who deserve to never enter the game again for hacking, stealing and constantly doing those things. I, for one, would like a safer, cleaner kingdom and if it requires a 10 year ban, then so be it.

There are different levels of being banned. The more serious "crimes" result in a more serious punishment. I am not sure what the person did to get the 10 year ban, but I don't think vmk should eliminate the system althogether simply because kids get frustrated when punished.

If you can't do the time, don't do the crime. :thumbsup2

Good point, but they need to start think on how they ban people, not for how long. They should not ban people who dont even deserver to get banned.. like me. :guilty:

I am sure they understand how to ban people as they have already banned a number of people. I agree that they should not ban those who do not deserve it and that is where the "banee" comes in. If you feel your ban was not necessary or appropriate, you can use the contact us and report it to them. You do not need to be logged into vmk in order to tell them what you think. Once they get your report, they look into their records to decide if your ban was fair or not. Sometimes they change it and sometimes they don't because they feel it was right.

Getting rid of the 10 year ban will make people feel immune to punishment...and that is not a good thing. IMHO.

Okay, I totally agree with you on this part- Getting rid of the 10 year ban will make people feel immune to punishment...and that is not a good thing. IMHO-see, it was my sister who made me get IP banned. I have sent a dozen e-mails to them saying I dont think it was fair, but they just reply back saying "You are banned due to another computer/account/player being IP banned causing you too. For further questions please go to..." And I have tried the anonymizer software, but the thingy is is that even if I try the things you guys suggested to fix it, it wont help. And I did go to www.whatismyipaddress.com for more info like one of you said, but it said that the Ip adress wont change if I have a dynamic one, (meaning an assigned Ip adress.) The only way I can fix it now (I think) is if one of my parents can call our company or buy a new computer from another company so that computer has a totally new IP adress. My dad totally gave up on me today, so im outta luck. And Nanoer, im not sure where I found the anonymizer software last time, so you might need to give me the link. Anyways, thanks for all your help so far guys. Btw, I wrote a letter to the DisneyLand Corporation a week ago. They still didnt send me or write me back yet. You think they will ever reply back to me? :confused3

They ban your IP not your MAC address. The IP is on your router(well if you have verizon DSL it is not sure about other companies) not your computer.
