Has anyone stayed at this resort through the DVC? If so could you please tell me anything about this resort? TIA

We are past owners of the resort and would be more than happy to answer any questions you have. Feel free to Pm with any info you need

We stayed at The Ridge in 2001 through DVC. We had a 2 bedroom resort. When we checked in, our original room was given to a Ridge member, and we ended up with a room that had a spectacular view of Lake Tahoe.

The room was nice. The decor of the room was a bit outdated. The kitchen was functional, but again, a little outdated.

The amenities are limited and the pool was a bit iffy looking (didn't look that clean). They do have a shuttle to the casinos and the lake. We went in the summer, so it was quiet.

Lake Tahoe is one of my favorite places. Would I do an exchange through DVC again? I don't think it is worth the points we spent. I would check out sites that rent out their weeks. There were a few other resorts in the same area as The Ridge, but they were not as nice.

Good Luck!

I've stayed there twice, but not on DVC exchanges.

It's a nice resort, on a ridge (hence the name Ridge Tahoe). Some of the units will have a lake view, some will have a view over the other side of the ridge toward the east. Units were roomy and fully equipped. It's a hilly area, and not a flat walk from building to building or to check-in area. There is an indoor pool and an outdoor pool. The view from the hot tub is spectacular. There are also hot tubs on the top floor of some of the buildings. (Maybe all the buildings - I'm not sure.) It's only a short drive down to Stateline Nv and the casinos. When driving from the main road to the resort you pass a lot of other condo's and timeshares, and Ridge Tahoe looks to be the nicest of the lot.

Other II timeshares in the area include the Marriott (in So Lake Tahoe, California, but only a block from Harrah's) and the Hyatt (in Incline Village NV, on the north end of the lake).

My opinion on whether or not it's worth the points would be whether you're going skiing or not. In ski season, probably yes. Otherwise, probably no. There is a ski lift right into the resort. In non peak season you could get this resort with a much lesser quality trade than DVC, and probably even get an II getaway if you're an II member. Lake Tahoe is really a great spot though!

I have a friend who owns at Incline Village and tries to stay at The Ridge whenever possible and thinks it's great. I haven't stayed there personally.

Thanks everyone for your replies! Since this is our 1st time trading out our DVC points for a different timeshare we just wanted other peoples opinions. Thanks again.

We have booked a week for Feb 2008 since my dh loves to ski. It was a nice surprise to have been given a 2 bedroom so we can include a neice and nephew on our trip. :thumbsup2

There will be no views of the lake from the Ridge Tahoe. They have a satellite building which only has 1 Bedrooms away from the main property call the Ridge View which is the only Ridge property with lake views.

However, Views of the mountains and Valley during winter are truly breathtaking
