THE RETURN of THE WHATLEYS MAY 21-30. Our trip is done, now time for the TR :(

I know I promised I was going to upload more pictures on Sunday night, but I was lazy . I should have said tired, but I'm not good at fibbing :lmao::rotfl2:.

So here we go.

The Graduates lined up outside waiting to come in.

This is Erik Weihenmayer, he gave the Commencement Address. Erik is a mountain climber, and he has climbed the Seven Summits. The amazing thing is; he is blind. Awesome speaker and a very inspiring Address.

After graduation Amanda and Matt went to meet up with a couple of their friends and we came home to change clothes. Matt's sister Hope gave Amanda a party at her house so we headed over there.

We had Mexican food so she decorated accordingly. This is her pool house.

So after the party we headed home because I had to get ready for work Sunday.

Dale and I are very proud of Amanda :goodvibes. She was one of 14 graduating from the School of Computer and Information Sciences. She was the only female, the only one to finish the degree in 4 years, and graduated magna cum laude :cloud9:.

Oh, Dana, it looks like a wonderful day. I know you are so proud of Amanda----and magna cum laude-very impressive! :goodvibes

No need to check those hospital IDs-She looks just like you! :)

One of my favorite pics is the one with Dale, Amanda, you and Dallas. Ya'll looked like ya'll are tickled about something. So what had ya'll giggling?

I think it's awesome that Matt's family cares so much for Amanda and celebrated her graduation with a party! She's a lucky girl.

Great pics Dana! Amanda looks so happy and rightfully so. It's tough to be the only female in a class let alone a degree program :scared1:....the ratio of men to women in my engineering program at GMI was 1 to 72. I had many classes where I was the only female. Now that i look back...there were good, really good and bad parts to that. ;)

Way to go Amanda!! (and Momma and Daddy too!)

Thanks Michelle, it was a great day. She worked hard to get where she is. She has always taken her studies seriously.

I think it is funny that she looks like me now; when she was a baby she looked like Dale's clone........:lmao:.

Lisa, we were laughing at Tyler. He couldn't figure out how to work my camera. You should see the pictures he took before this one finally turned out :lmao::rotfl2:.

Matt's family is an awesome bunch :goodvibes. A good Christian family. They treat Amanda like she has always been a member of their family.

What a great day! She definately worked hard for that degree!

It was a great day Alicia :goodvibes. She did work hard. She said yesterday that it seemed strange being on campus and knowing she had already graduated. She has worked in the Web Services Dept. at the University since she started college and tomorrow is her last day :sad1:. They had every intention of hiring her full time, after she graduated, but then the state put a freeze on hiring and they weren't able to give her a job :sad2:. She starts her new job on Monday.

Thank you Leanne. She is happy to be finished with school. I know you understand how she feels, it is hard to be the only female in a male dominated profession. Her Professors really held her in high esteem because she was the only woman. The Dean of CIS was shaking the hands of those who graduated from the program; he stopped Amanda and talked to her instead of just shaking her hand. I think women, like you and Amanda, break the old stereotypes that women can't compete in a male dominated world. I know I couldn't do what you or Amanda does; I'm not good at math and I know ya'll had to take some very advanced math classes. I'm better at biology and anatomy type things.....:lmao:.

Great pics-what a proud moment for all of you! Leanne has math, you have biology and I have kids :)

Thank you Mary, I wish I could take all the credit, but alas, I have to share it :lmao:. To have kids, you have to combine math and biology ;).

Hey Dana! I hope you had a wonderful Mother's Day! Love the clothes you ordered from the Disney Store. FIngers crossed they get here fast!

You must be so proud of Amanda. Bryan is a software developer, so I understand the fact that this was a major accomplishment for her to finish. Bryan is often talking about how there are so few females in his field. I give her some major respect for that. It's tough being the only female in a man's world. Congratulations to her!

Hey Megan . I did have a good Mother's day and I hope you did too :goodvibes. I should get the clothes tomorrow. I will be waiting for my UPS man :lovestruc.

I am very proud of Amanda. Bryan, for sure, knows it is a hard field to be in, so to be woman is even harder. Even though we have come far, as women, we still are not on the same level as men. Thank you so much, it really means a lot to me :goodvibes.

Congrats to Amanda! You guys got some wonderful pictures to remember to occasion. I hope you had a nice Mothers Day, too!
