THE RETURN of THE WHATLEYS MAY 21-30. Our trip is done, now time for the TR :(

1. That is SO sweet!

2. I'm the same way about mexican food & I LOVE Cilantro, too!!!

3. I always have to pee & I could strap on a feed bag of salsa & go to town. :lmao:

I'm glad you had such a great date night- you deserve it!

Thank you April, it was sweet. I buy a bunch of cilantro every week and I will put it on hamburgers, nachos, steaks you name and I will try cilantro on it. Dale gets so aggravated with me having to go to the bathroom so much....:confused3. I make a pretty decent salsa, but it isn't as good as they make at Vallarta's. I'm hoping we can get out tomorrow and do some stuff. The forecast is calling for rain, but it isn't even drizzling.

What a great date night Dana! It doesn't have to be fancy to be fun for me either. We went out Saturday to his work's Christmas party, but I'd much rather have a night like what you and Dale had. I'm so glad you got out of the house and had a little fun. :goodvibes

It was good Leanne. Fancy is OK once in a while, but casual is much better. Dale's job doesn't even have a Christmas party any more. They use to have a decent little dinner and we played dirty Santa, but they haven't had one in about 11 years. I am going to the grocery store tomorrow, but if I can talk Dale into it maybe we can at least go riding. I really want to take Dallas to see The Princess and the Frog too so that is an option.

I think we are going to see The Princess & the Frog tomorrow. The girls are pretty excited about it. Let us know about tomorrow's trip!

I actually talked Dale, well it was pretty easy, into taking me to the mall. Amanda went online and found out our mall has wheelchair rental. We got to the mall and Dale dropped Amanda, Dallas and Me off at the front and we waited for him. We rented a wheelchair and Dale pushed me around, boy was it crowded. The weird thing was, hardly anybody had bags. It was as if everybody was just out window shopping. Dale wanted to try and find an Alabama SEC championship cap, but everybody was sold out. One of the stores said they were getting a new shipment on Tuesday. That is why it was easy to get him to go to the mall, he wanted to find that hat. We had lunch at Chili's then went to Walmart. I feel so strange riding around on the ECV.

It took us all day to get this stuff done. It normally would have been a half day venture, but with my leg the few things we did took forever :sad2:.

I'm excited about The Princess and the Frog. Becky(ladybugmom) gave away 2 children's tickets for the movie, and I won one for Dallas :woohoo::banana:.THANK YOU BECKY:goodvibes:hug:. We didn't get to go yesterday and today my leg has really been bothering me, I think it is the weather. I hope we can go Tuesday or Wednesday. Amanda is off one of those days, but I can't remember which. I'm excited Dallas wants to see it. Don't tell him I told ya'll ;).

I did find out Aflac is sending me a check on the accident part of my policy, I have to get the rest of the papers from the doctor's office and have my HR department at work do their part and I will hopefully have the disability check from Aflac starting. I would much, much, much rather be at work.

Man....something's going around, a girl at work broke her ankle too. She's been a pain, get this, get that LOL I've done it before to myself, so I know how it feels. Sorry I haven't been on, been kinda in a fog...I'm out of it now, one day I'll explain it all. Glad your date night went good, things here are better....I still have a job, which is a good thing, and we're all getting over colds. I think we're going next saturday to ride the new space mountain, so I'll report back on that!! :) I hope your leg is feeling better!!!

It is so good to hear from you. I was thinking about you and how things were going for you at work. I hope it continues to get better at work. I know with times like they are having a job is important, but there are times when mental and physical health mean more. I'm here anytime you want to talk, you have my phone number and at this point in time I am pretty much available 24/7. Thanks about the leg, I just want them to hurry up and decide if they want to do surgery or not. If you go get lots of pictures because I need the Disney fix......:lmao:.

Yay for fun at the mall.

It was nice Mary. I think it will probably be one of those "random" memories, you know the kind that don't seem great at the moment. It was special that we were together. I just wish Tyler would join us when we go on these outings.

I'm glad you got to have a good weekend. Well deserved. We got back from Kansas City about 7:30. Did laundry and picked up stuff a little. Don cooked dinner for Mike and Andrew tonite. Austin had company at home and didn't come over. We had a fun time in Kansas City. I'll try to get some pics up of our hotel. We went out on the balcony and looked at the pretty lights at the Plaza. I am totally tired tonight. I have slept on a roll-a-way for 2 nights. There are 3 of us and the beds were just fulls. Next year is Cindy's turn. Sheri did it last year. I did not get a lot of presents bought but I think I will go online tomorrow and finish up.

Have a a good day tomorrow. Glad you are at least getting a check. It's a start.

Sounds like you and Dale had a wonderful date night. I've gotta tell you that your date nights sound just like mine and John's. The last time we went out by ourselves, we went to eat seafood and then stopped at the Dollar Tree and Big Lots. Whoooey! Do we live it up or what?!?!?:lmao:

I am glad that you got to get out of the house. I know that you needed it!

Lisa, I can't believe I missed your post :guilty:. We had a very good time and I am ready to go again. We went to the mall yesterday and to Chili's and Walmart, but it wasn't the same :confused3. I LOVE Dollar Tree. I haven't been to Big Lots in a while, but Dollar Tree is my favorite place. We went there yesterday too, I forgot about that. I swear we lead exciting lives don't we.......:lmao:.

You are VERY welcome!! I'm glad I could brighten your day in some way!! :goodvibes I hope you get to see it soon!! You will LOVE it!!

Hi Dana !!! Your date night sounds like fun. I love when Manny and I get to go out. Anything is considered a date when it's just me and him, which doesn't occur very often at all.

I can't wait to take my girls to see Princess and the frog too. I think we're going to go the sunday after christmas. That movie looks so cute.

the girl at work, they did to surgery. So...it might be unavoidable!!! And, I'll get pictures. I wanna see it all decorated, AND wear my tigger santa hat!! I love that darn thing!!! LOL

Glad you made it out this weekend. I'm sure it feels good to get out of the house. Congrats on winning a ticket! Hope you get out to see it soon. It is a really cute movie.

It sounds like you had a very good weekend. I can't wait to see the pictures. I wouldn't want to live right in the middle of a city, but I think the lights of a city are so pretty. My ex-SIL lived in Birmingham when Doug and I were married and one of her apartments was on Red Mountain and you could see the lights of Birmingham from her balcony. I know you were give out from sleeping on the roll-away.

I'm getting aggravated with my doctor's nurse. I talked with her Wednesday and I told her then I was almost out of my pain meds, she said just call back on Thursday and leave the message on the voice mail and she would take care of it. Well, when I called Thursday the recorded message said she and Dr. D would be off till today. Another doctor's nurse called me back and said I would need to call today because I would have to get a written Rx. So I have been out of pain meds since Saturday. I called twice today and she never called me back............grrrrrrrrrrrr. It is very annoying.

I can't wait to go. :goodvibes

Hey Pam. We did have a nice time. I'm missing it already. I don't know when we will get to do it again.

I saw that the movie was number one this past weekend. I think we are going to go this week on a weekday so it won't be so crowded and walking on my crutches won't be so bad. I am going to wait until the weather clears up some though I'm kinda nervous walking around on wet pavement. I think the movie looks cute too.

I just want them to hurry up and make a decision. I am starting to get really upset with my doctor. He told me he would see me after the MRI and since BCBS denied the MRI, you would think they would tell me when to come back in for another evaluation and see what we are going to do. The bad thing about it all is I can't even change doctors because that group is on our list of approved doctors and they are the only group we can see.

I hope you get lots of pictures. I am missing Disney so much right now. I think it is because I know we won't be coming down for Christmas :sad1:. I want to see pix of you in the Tigger Santa hat.

It was nice to get out this weekend. My ex husband offered me the use of his Mom's ECV, but I don't think I'm gonna get it. He said it is really heavy so I don't want to have to deal with it. Depending on how long this goes on, I may change my mind :rolleyes1

I couldn't live in town either. When we first moved here our house wasn't even in the city limits. After several years we got annexed. We then moved to this house and we are between Springfield and Willard. Have Springfield address but utilities, school, fire dept and everything is Willard. Springfield wanted to annex us because the road next to us backs up to the airport (back side) and we all voted no. We like no man's land. Kansas City was very pretty tho.

Now shame on that nurse. She knew she was going to be off on Thursday and for her to tell you to call was unacceptable. And for her to not call you back. Grrrrrrrrrrrr is right. So uncalled for. I'm really surprised they have not been more accomodating to you and working harder to get something done on your behalf.

Prayers of healing for you.

Where I live is like that too Ginny. I live in Mobile county about 1 mile from the city limits. The area I live in is on the outskirts of Mobile. I am about 10 miles from the Mississippi line. When we first moved out here (it is known as West Mobile) there was a small Walmart, a couple of grocery stores and a florist that was about it. Well, in the 15 years we have lived out here this area has become the major shopping area. The city had tried to annex this area for years, well last year our new mayor figured out a way to get the shopping areas. He only let certain areas vote in the annexation, yeah fair huh? But, anyway we didn't get annexed because we are just past the line. I too live by the airport.

Nancy, Dr D's nurse, finally called me back today. She said she was sorry she didn't get back with me yesterday, but with Dr D being out sick last week it put them way behind. That still doesn't explain why she told me to call back Thursday :rolleyes1.

The weather here has been absolutely horrible since Friday night. It has been raining and muggy and just gray blah outside. Not very conducive to the mental health of a shut in :sad2:. So when Dr D's nurse called this morning and told me she had my Rx and I could come pick it up  woooo hoooo a little pain relief. Soooooooooooo I had to come up with a plan, Dale was at work, as was Amanda, so they couldn't take me. I REFUSE to ride with Tyler so how am I going to get my Rx? I will go myself :rolleyes1:scared1:. I get dressed, grab my crutches and head out the door :rolleyes1.
I know I am a lunatic when I get half way to the doctors office and realize I had no way of walking with crutches, carrying my purse and holding an umbrella. I start to panic :scared1: what am I doing? Why did I think I could do this? I will tell you this, pain will make you do crazy things. I park the car and hatched my plan, I would not worry about getting wet, I would take my cell phone, keys and money in my pocket and off I would go. Thank goodness for the "MOBILITY IMPAIRED PATIENTS" parking spots. I make it in the building :dance3::yay:. Now when I say this is a big office I mean BIG. There are 21 orthopedic surgeons in this office. They have an office where you sign in just to pick up papers. I signed in and waited about 10 minutes in which time I had to explain, to other patients, my injury :rotfl2:. I need to come up with a more adventurous story about how I got injured, making the bed just sounds boring :lmao:. I hear my name and I waddle over to the office, Ms. Judy didn't have the Rx at her desk...........grrrrrrrrrr........NANCY. I also asked her if she had the form I needed to take to my job for the Aflac? NOPE :sad2:. So, Ms. Judy gets up goes to the back of this massive office, poor Ms. Judy, and gets the Rx and asks Alicia, "paper work girl", if my form is ready. She comes back with the Rx and then has to wait for Alicia to get back to her desk and have her put the form in the tube system and have it sent up front. Now, I say poor Ms. Judy because she too has a brace on her leg where she had to have surgery 3 months ago to repair a torn ACL, MCL and PCL. She fell in her yard too. When she got back to her desk she asks to see my drivers license :scared1: drivers license? I didn't have no stinking drivers license with me, they were in my purse in the car. Well, she says, we are suppose to see your drivers license before we give you a Rx for narcotics. I could not believe I had to go all the way back out to the car get my DL and make it back up there. She said that's OK, she pulls my DL up on the computer. Yeah, they have that in their system. So she gets my papers, I sign saying I got my Rx and I make my way back to the elevator. I got outside and the valet asks me if I want a ride to my car, in the golf cart. I accept and he drives me the 30 feet to my car :lmao:. Now, I have to make it to the pharmacy, done, hard to do, but done. Then I have to take all my papers to the hospital. All of these buildings are on campus where I work, so right together. I hobble to payroll to drop off my Aflac papers then head up to the nursery to see my co-workers for a few minutes and leave my FMLA papers. I have to tell you, I was soaking wet, not just from rain, I was sweating like I had ran a 10 mile marathon.

So, I can do it. I can drive and get around, hard as it may be, but doable. Ask me how tired I was, just ask. OK, I WAS EXHAUSTED. I slept for 3 hours this evening, thus no sleep now :sad2:. I think I may have overdone it just a little, but at least I know now I can get out and not feel like I am trapped :woohoo:.

just take it easy girl....don't over do it!! But, funny story, I can totally picture it!! LOL

Oh, boy, what a day! I can picture you hobbling in on crutches, soaking wet. I probably would have cried! You did a good job!! Don't over do it though :goodvibes

Omg, what a day. I'm proud of you for figuring all that out. Pain can make us do stupid things for sure. Glad you got your meds. It was to the point if you didn't get them you were going to have to have something stronger. And you got your paperwork so that is a good thing. Now maybe you can start getting more money. I know it is truly needed by now.

Rest today.

Ginny

The first thing I noticed when I read your post was the time....2:00 in the morning!

Poor thing. I am so sorry that you had to go through all of that. But, I also know that it had to feel good to get out of the house and do something productive. You also got to see you co-workers.
