No problem, we're already on their "hot" :furious: list. Yeah, I think the "war" scene was about "Hurt Locker". But with 3 kids, the closest thing we get to seeing a real movie is "Honey I shrunk the audience":3dglasses

Derek I have three kids-but mine are 15, 17, and 19. It gets easier-more expensive, but easier! They are so much fun when they are young and they need you and love you so much. Your whole life revolves around them-rentals are all you see! As they are starting to go to college, I wonder what will I do with all this time? The great thing is that after they go through the phase of independence and knowing it all, they start to need you and love you all over again!

Thanks Kathy, something for Wendy and I to look forward to (the second round of  that is). Not looking forward to the college expenses though:scared1:

I think the website is an awesome idea! It would be great to track everyone's individual dates/resorts, etc! :thumbsup2

I am so not a techie... I have no idea what a ning site is!

Kathy

I have no idea either....:confused3

But the website idea has been brewing in my head for awhile.

Kathy, I've setup some free websites on webs.com. The best so far is one for LA alumni for my grad school (University of Chicago) at http://www.uchicagola.com.

Ning is a social networking site that you can customize and each user can set-up their own profile, share music, photos, blogs, chats etc. Much more sophisticated than a discussion board but who would want to replace DIS?

I've set up a ning site for Jordan's Peeps at http://peepfest.ning.com/?xgi=4hp1uSTKpJCDiL

Since I don't know anyone's email address, I couldn't invite you but you can self register. I just started the site so it's a little bare but I'll add stuff to it when I can.

I opted for the ning site peepfest.ning.com but I can create a website on webs.com instead. Let me know what info you want. A website is more static (check out uchicagola.com) where folks can view stuff posted by an admin where as ning is more of a social network (different and more customizable from Facebook). Folks can create their own profile, add photos, etc.

I came across ning from a bunch of other sites I've been on such as Blipfm where you can listen to free music and post threads like tweeting. The folks on BlipFM are so hooked that they also use blipfm.ning.com for social networking. It's a crazy world out there with too few hours of the day for so much surfing!!:surfweb:

I think a website may be better...but we'll see....thanks for offering to help:thumbsup2

Derek is so totally winning techie of the day....where's my nerd test?

I'd never heard of ning...heck I was happy I figured out how to make a pdf form people could fill out and auto submit for my pta cookbook project!

:rotfl:

I do think some kind of site is a really good idea. And of course I'm happy to work on shirt and logo's!

Imaginary friends....:rotfl2:

Adorable get together pics.

We won't be imaginary for that much longer.

What do you want me to name your website that will be added to the webs.com domain. I've already started along the path for the http://peepfest.ning.com site, but we can switch horses if you like. You've always reminded me of horses or part of one at least....:upsidedow just kidding.

Sir Farts Alot
His Majesty, King Poofs
Her Royal Highness, Fluffsina
Duke of Dook
And don't forget Jack of all Toots, Master of Dung.

Is there a theme here?
:confused3

:rotfl::rotfl: I think someone mentioned brown shirts before!:thumbsup2

Don't remind me. I should start receiving AARP mail soon......

Oh Yes, the joy of it all. I just told Jim the other day that he should be getting his this year - I did at 48. He doesn't think so... they will find you. Now I get one every week - I just want to burn them! I'm thinking of telling them to take me off the list and I'll let THEM know when I'm readyu to be old. :hippie:

Thanks Derek! Your the Geekiest! I was in a social networking class, and we used Ning - it works pretty well.

On second thought, I think you need to learn to master :yoda: blogging such as on WordPress so I won't be the "go between" from your thoughts to the website.

I haven't created a blog site but have thought about making one. Or you can just use Posterous to post random thoughts. I created one but haven't used it regulary.

I think the shutterfly sites have a blog feature as well as shared doc options...

Jordan, you guys just pick the dates without us, and I'll see if I can get Jim to come at that time. He was all for it when we first started talking about the great Peepfest, then he got a little jealous of my DIS time last Fall, so he's a little anti-DIS at this time, too. He may feel better by the time we go - he just doesn't get it. We had fun getting to know you and Wendy and Derek at CC in 2005, so you would think he would get it. :confused3

I'm going to chalk it up to stuff that was going on at work with unfaithful spouses and everyone except me pretty much deserting him at the time. I think things will get better.

Yeah, Shutterfly has realized that they need to drive folks to their site (a smart move) so they've allowed folks to create photoblog sites with some text. Good for sharing photos but not all that flexible.

I've already copied Jordan's 2010 peepfest details to peepfest.ning.com. All folks need to do is register to access the site but it's currently set to public. I posted a couple of photos.

I agree there's a theme but how do you mix lime green with brown? I like ning and wished that I created my uchicagola.com club website on ning instead of webs but started with webs first. Webs is okay but after it gets set up, the site can be kind of boring since folks just show up, read stuff and aren't forced to contribute whereas with ning.com, people are more enticed to make individual contributions (e.g., photos, discussion board posts, etc.).

Oh and thanks for labeling me the geekiest.

I have no idea either....:confused3

But the website idea has been brewing in my head for awhile.

I created a slightly more tasteful website on webs.com for you in case you wanted to refer your other church peeps as well (considering you're almost paid church staff). Check out http://jordanyosh.webs.com and let me know what content you want me to add. There are several "canned" templates but nothing really rockin'. But it's fairly simple to change the design even after the content has been added. It's like changing the gift wrapping with the contents still inside of the gift box.

Let me know what you think and what you want to add. Oh and I added the dates for your current plans for Peepfest 2012.

Tammie, since you're a fellow ningster and tweeter, can you please check out, join and test out http://peepfest.ning.com? After setting up a website for Jordan on webs.com, I'm not convinced that it will be better in the long run for the fans of Jordan. If we can get folks comfortable with using ning, I think it would be better.

Feel free to tweet me @DisneyDerek.

Did you know that I used to manny for Wendy's kids (mostly Erin and Dylan) from 2002-2008? We are very close. Derek and Wendy are more like my brother and sister than cousins. We fight, we make up...we're family.

My cousin and I were roomies in college, then we ended up marrying brothers so she's my SIL too. I love it! She is very much my sister and we were each other's MOH at our weddings even though we both have "real" sisters. So I get it. :goodvibes

Dylan is very interested in the whole DISing thing and is on DH's lap wanting to post all sorts of smilies.

That's my 4yr old's obsession when she sees I'm DISing too.

I hope that PAP sticks around!

On behalf of the women on your TR/future PTR can we avoid using the acronym PAP???:worried:
