sorry about the pain....

I think I know what marfans is, but I'll google it...

After our Test Track adventure, we had time to spare since Wendy had changed her ADR to an hour later. We decided to ride Mission: Space. Wendy loves this ride. In 08? she spent a few hours on her own and rode M: S 6? 7? times IN A ROW!!!!!! One order of scrambled brains coming right up!:scared1: That's what i call intestinal fortitude!

Wendy - all I have to say is :worship: I won't go near that ride. I think it would freak me out too much!

I have never ridden Mission Space and I never will. I :worship: to Wendy for being able to ride is so many times.

Re: M:S... I still love this ride... didn't test whether I could still do it multiple times (although I did go on it twice... once while the others were in EEE and I was getting FPs I think for Soarin' so I knew I had like 20+ minutes... so what better to do than swing through M:S on my way back to EEE. Niiiiice.)

And really, if you're going to ride it only once (which I knew Kim would), you HAVE to ride the orange to get the full effect... But for those of you of mild constitutions, I'd suggest at least riding the green... so you can at least have a taste of it... it's pretty amazing technology. :thumbsup2

The kids and I played this game where we all reacted to the "remote control", Dylan. If he said fast forward, we all started moving really fast. If he said slow motion we would all go realllly slow. He would say pause and we'd freeze. We did this for awhile and laughed alot. Erin and he would go back and forth...

The "game" is from Nick Jr's Upside Down Show... they tell the viewers to do remote control commands to the TV... the kids would do that and I never knew where they go that idea until I saw the show once. Then I was all, "Ahhhhh, got it..."

I miss Body Wars and Cranium Command and the Making of Me....:sad1:

I loved that pavillion... once I saw the actress in Cranium Command at a store I was working at.... I was a cashier and she was buying something and I kept looking at her wondering where I knew her from... and then it dawned on me - she was the girl that the main character in Cranium Command liked... only older (since it had been several years since filming). So I asked her about it and she said that was her. It was my "star" moment for the day. Ha ha ha ha.

Jordon i just had oral surgery, what the heck was i thinking coming over here and catching up! LOL isn't a good thing while still bleeding a little. ugh:sad2:

What kind of oral surgery? I had jaw surgery done twice :headache: Once when I was a junior in high school and then again when I was around 22. Hope you're feeling better soon....

Hi Jordan! What an awesome Uncle you are! I used to watch my nephew a lot when he was little and we had such great times together. And I'm sure as they grow up you will be just as close with them, if not closer. And how wonderful for Wendy and Derek to have someone that loves their children unconditionally!

Yes, we are fortunate to have close family ties... it'll be interesting to see Jordan's relationship with the kids change over the years... will he be the one to take them to their first bar? (Derek had an uncle who would take him out and "show him a good time"... hee hee hee.) I wonder what they'll enjoy doing more with Uncle Jordie over Mom and Dad... :rolleyes1 I think I'll either be feeling like this --> :cloud9: or like this --> :scared1:

Ha ha ha ha.

Let's see if my math is correct...by the time Dylan turns 21 to celebrate adulthood, Jordan will be 64 yrs old.....Dylan may have to push his wheelchair and take out his dentures so he can sip his Cranberry Vodka through a straw....or maybe he'll just be drinking metamucil:drinking1

Ditto this, Wendy. You're a trooper.

Back before I had my son, back before I met my husband. Back when I was a somewhat reblious early 20-something gal, I actually rode a ride at our local theme park called Sidewinder about 7 or 8 times in a row (it was late and the park was emptying out, so there was no line for it...the ride operators let us stay on and just kept sending us again and again). It was a single loop rollercoaster type ride. You went forward through the loop, then came backwards through it. I'm pretty sure I couldn't stomach that many times at once now.

I did that same thing!!! At Great America (another amusement park in Northern CA) there was a ride like that and my friend and I rode it like 9-10 times over and over (same thing - there was no one else in line so they let us keep riding it). And me too, not sure how many times I could go on that now. But I did ride Expedition Everest 2x in a row this year and was so excited (since in 2005 it was just before it opened [so we saw it but it wasn't open yet - just a big tease] and then in 2008 I was expecting so everyone else got to ride but me :sad1:

I miss those attractions. Horizons was one of my faves and wendy's too.
Body Wars was pretty outdated, but more intense than Star Tours. If you liked Fantastic Voyage (the movie with Raquel Welch), then you would LOVE this attraction.

Body Wars was way cool! And actually a neat educational ride for kids learning about the anatomy of the body. You got to see the inside of the heart, brain, arteries, etc. I think Erin would actually have enjoyed that...

Totally miss Horizons... Jordan - we forgot our traditional Horizons photo... :sad2: Next time... can you imagine hundreds of your peeps doing that pose? Hee hee hee. :thumbsup2

only 4 nuggets, jeeze they skimp out on room service meals for sure.

I know, especially when it take TWO table service credits to get room service!!!!!!! Sheesh. :sad2:

at Disney's California Adventure, Wendy and I rode California Screamin 2-3 times in a row and that was about all i could take. She went at least 2 more times...

I think my total was 7-8 at least. That was so fun. It was opening weekend of DCA I think. Ahhhh, the good old days... apple martini's at the Cove (?)... dinner at Soap Opera Bistro... I miss those places.

The remote control game is fun, but mind blowing at 4.5 Dylan knows all about the remote control....

Yeah, the kids are starting to figure out how to record stuff to DVR and pull it up to watch later. Sigh. :headache:

Oh, I remember that episode! I love Friends. I actually had a professor that reminded me a LOT of Ross! I swear, I felt like I was watching Ross lecture. He had the same type of voice and looked almost exactly like him.

Yes, but did he start talking in a British accent??? That was a classic episode... then Monica turns scottish and Rachel suddenly hails from India. Ha ha ha. Such a classic series!!! I still TIVO it every night.

I forgot Muppets. I've fallen asleep there multiple times.

Yes, I was going to mention this til I saw you did later...

Drooling, snoring go along with all that too? I'm guessing those around you were REAL pleased you were sitting next to them.

But I guess it didn't bother those around you since that was me and Derek and we were both asleep as well  I remember that time we all went in and promptly fell asleep through the whole thing. Now that's what I call a power nap!

Dude, how can you forget the Muppets. Remember that got 4 stars in our (make-believe) tourist guide especially when you could sleep on the boxes in the waiting area and had great AC.

Shame shame DH... have you not learned yet... you must read forward a bit before posting.... hee hee hee. I almost did the same thing until I glanced ahead.... :rolleyes1

I'm so sorry your in pain. Hope your drugs kick in soon. I'm with you on the Marfan syndrome with Phelps, but the one thing that sticks out to me to think he doesn't have it is his heart. I would think with all the training and all that he does they wouldn't take a chance with his heart if he had it. I sure hope your boy doesn't deal with the heart issues.

No way! If Jordy is this young now, he won't be any where near the old guy your talking about. Jordy will be young for ever!

I miss Friends, and I don't ever watch it on t.v any more. I'm not sure why. :confused3

Well, he does have his dad's genes (but not his big ears) and given that his dad is fairly techie in his old age (Uncle Carl - Jordan's dad and my FIL, David would trade stories over who bought and mastered the Garmin Nav unit first):rotfl2: there's a bright hope that he'll still have some of his senses by his mid sixties:cool1:

I'm still in newbie status....haven't earned my DIS Veteran stripes yet.
:rotfl:

Good gracious- let's hope his swim diapers don't turn into a disaster! (from Glennbo's thread.)
Yeah, we used to joke (when Jordan was the kids' manny nanny) that Erin & Dylan will have to change Jordan's diapers in his old age since he changed theirs :thumbsup2 ...we'll see how the future unfolds....

ooooh, love me a Seabreeze :thumbsup2 but drop the Metamucil for Monavie, that "cures" all that ails ya! So I'm told.....

Derek~ Erin and Dylan have gotten so big and Ashlyn is totally cute!

Yes, the kids keep growing up so fast each day. Ashlyn has become the new boss in our house, taking people by hand to direct them to whatever she wants folks to do.....how she learns these things at 20 months is beyond me?:confused3 I fear how she will be when she grows up to a teenager :scared1: Erin and Dylan are maturing as well, yesterday they were extremely civil to each other.....yay!

it wouldn't have looked so skimpy if they used a kid sized plate, but the plate was huge which just magnified the skimpiness of the meal.

it won't be that hard at all if you know where to look. it's easy, but I do challenge you to get to the Top of the World Bar.

The remote control game is fun, but mind blowing at 4.5 Dylan knows all about the remote control....
top of the world bar? is that the one on bay lake tower?

i have the Contemporary tower figured out and mastered, this might be a mission i would gladly accept.

I know, especially when it take TWO table service credits to get room service!!!!!!! Sheesh. :sad2:
i loved horizons, my dads company used to be affliated with them, and we could go into the VIP room at that attraction for free, it was cool...they had a back entrance we could go and get drinks, then there was a camera on top of hte building, that you could control and look around the parks and zoom in on people.

then when it was all done and ready to ride, you were allowed down a back entrance, and onto the ride in a seperate area before the people in line...very cool

ouch 2 credits for that, iwould have complained for sure.

One of these days i will learn how to quote.
WendyO: i had an implant put in and a tooth pulled. The tooth that was pulled shattered and they had to cut it out. I also had too much novacaine and then my blood pressure dropped dramatically, so on to I.V.
Simple procedure with only 4 stitches, turned into crazy procedure with 12 stitches. Thanks everyone for the concern...
Millie, so far no heart or eye lens issues with my son. He does all kinds of sports too. They test his heart/eyes 4 times a year. Phelps is past the heart stretching/tearing age. There are so many degrees of the disease tho. RJ my son had pectus excavatum, and some major chest surgery at 11 but since has been healthy as a horse!
off to work, have a great day all. Read ya later!;)

i have missed a LOT- the baby is 20 months!!!!

I actually thought about it, but didn't do it. I think because I would've had to have a stranger take my picture....

I don't think there will be 100's of DIS people...maybe in the 20's to 30's...

I keep wondering how we woke up. We could've been sitting there for a few shows...
