The return of annual passes

Is this a correct comparison from the old AP structure to the new? I’m trying to get a sense of what has changed:

Platinum Plus: $1295 —> Incredi-Pass: $1299 = 3% increase and no known FL or DVC discount
Platinum AP: gone

Gold Pass: $719 (FL or DVC)—> Sorcerer: $899 (25% increase)
Silver Pass: $539 (FL) —> Pirate: $699 (29% increase)
Weekday select: $369 (FL) —> Pixie Dust: $399 (8% increase)

Theme Park select and the Epcot only passes appear to be gone. Of course, PhotoPass is no longer included.

For me, the biggest thing I’m ticked about is the 25% increase in the gold pass coupled with the exclusion of PhotoPass. I’ll also be annoyed if they really don’t offer any FL/DVC discount on the Incredi-Pass.
Plat plus is no more, water park add on is 100 bucks ontop of the incredi pass, add back photopass and your at 1500

Personally it's a real penny pinch move to remove photopass, it's something I like having but I would not really pay anything additional for.

That looks right

I would guess that photopass is more popular with out of state guests than locals. To be honest I forgot that they offer it

It should be Platinum Pass: $1195 -> Incredi-Pass: $1299 = 8.7% increase because Incredi-Pass does not incude the water parks w/o a $99 upcharge.

If you qualified for the Florida Resident / DVC Platinum Pass though the price increase is actually $899 -> $1299 or a whopping 44.49% increase unless Disney just didn't announce the Florida Resident / DVC Incredi-Pass price yet.

We renewed 3 of our Gold passes as soon as we could back in July. They don’t expire until 9/20 though. Our vouchers specifically say Gold pass renewal exchange. I thought we’d be good, but who knows now. I’ve come to assume the worst from Disney under Chapek.

I think the increase in price is justified. If they are not at full capacity then they don’t want too many annual pass holders, especially with you now having to reserve parks in advance, crowds are an issue.

Also inflation is insane right now.

Yesterday was day 17 in a row of touring plan observed crowd level 1 park level. That is unheard of pre-pandemic. A lot of that is undoubtedly the delta variant, but some of that may be people starting to tell Disney something.

Right if this continues through September and into October for the 50th, I think Disney will have to reconsider the price hikes.

Anyone who is saying this is just inflation and to accept it... the spreadsheet I posted earlier shows a 70% increase in price for family of 4's trip. That is not a sustainable increase. Even just looking directly at the AP price increases, they average over 20%. The worst year ever for inflation on the Consumer Price Index (CPI) was 1917 at 19.66% so even 20% is really high.

For 2021, the current trailing 12 month CPI inflation rate is 5.4% certainly not small, but nothing like Disney prices!

For those who have “Exchanged Certificates” where do we stand ? My AP was expired back in May 2021 I renewed it. I was sent the “Green Card” with an expiration date of 2099…. I plan to visit in Late September early October for the 50th does my pass stay on the old platinum tier or I automatically get bumped to the new new “Incredible pass” and I’d have to buy the $99.00+ tax photo pass option……

#confused

Anyone saying this is just inflation doesnt actually understand economics.... but there are also a lot of Disney employees on this board to spin the pr as well.

Your vouchers should be migrated to the equivalent AP under the new system. In addition, any other features that were a part of your defunct AP - such as Photopass, water parks, etc - will be added at no additional charge according to Carlyle Wisel. She's very in the know when it comes to Disney, so I'm trusting that she's right on this.

Yeah, but that has just started. It may be the sign of a sharp decline in demand for sure, but for most of this summer, people have been in a frenzy to do to Disney. The surge may be ending though, but it's hard to say just yet.

I don't know about others but this makes me angry. And also makes me close my wallet, our family just went from up to 2 trips a year to 1 trip a year, maybe less. All these changes, speaking from a marketing point of view, is raising revenue from each visitor, at the cost of reducing the number of visitors. We could afford more trips but it's less efficient to have return trips or trips that use annual passes now.

I can go stay at 4 seasons hotel in Aruba or go to Europe with the money I spend on Disney trips….. I’ll see the actual world instead of Epcot show case . Lol 😆

Thank you Disney -

it’s like Disney is doing us all a favor .
this is giving off (Bad Break up vibes )

Right now Universal is Out-Disneying Disney.

Walt = "Plus it..."
The Bobs = "Minus it, but charge more..."

If demand for the passes falls off, we will quickly see 3-6 months added to each new annual pass (probably early 2021).
