my testimony about this working.....

because of my MIL not making up her mind until the last minute about several details of our trip and because of DH stalling on giving me the OK to plop down over 300$ for the ressie....i was forced to wait way to long to call for my reservations for the Hoop Dee Doo for our upcoming trip. this was the ONLY onsite ressie that i wanted. (we are staying off site in a villa - will eat or pack most meals and eat offsite at less expensive places)

called - no Hoop Dee Doo at all for any of the dates we would be there except the 9:30 show two of our 8 nights. MIL again is a snot and refuses to eat at 10pm at night.

i called back every day at 7 am for two weeks and low and behold this morning i was able to land a catagory 1 5pm show for a party of 6. someone had cancelled the day before and it took them until the next morning for it to clear and hit the reservation system again.



my son (who has seen me on the phone every morning while he was getting ready for school) and i did out little happy dance.

so don't give up if you couldn't get the ressie you wanted. sometimes (not always) you can get lucky if you are persistant.

I agree, I just had similar luck getting a Chef Mickey dinner reservation - now I'm just trying to get a LTT dinner at a decent hour!

Ive been calling every other day for Mama Melrose Fantasmic Package... Im looking for anytime the week im there.. only one opening today.. at 3pm.. too early for us to eat though.

If you're trying to get stuff, don't forget to call at the 45 day mark for your trip. I had a trip booked for May 11-18 and I had made all my ADR's at the 180 day mark. But by mid February I was pretty sure we weren't going to be able to go although I held out hope right up until the day before our last payment was due. I canceled all my ADR's too. So some lucky person hopefully called in and got them. I had CRT breakfast at 8:05, LeCellier and several other really good ones.

So try to think to call right around that time to pick up cancelations. Also even after you get there for ones that have a 24 or 48 hour cancelation policy. I'm sure people hold out sometimes until the last minute to cancel.

Just FYI for others reading, you do not have to have a lodging reservation to make ADR's... go ahead and make them for when you think you will be there and you can always cancel. Even ones that require a credit card, you have until about 48 hours prior to cancel and get a refund.

I know this wasn't the OP's situation exactly... just wanted to put that out since I often see people who wait to make their ADR's until everything else is set up.
