That sucks.
Might I suggest in the furture offering the points to DVC members via
a transfer. IMO if members are willing to let pts go for 10 bucks a crack, members should get 1st shot at points being let go at the LOW of a price.
crisi said:I probably shouldn't speak for Kick, but it sounds like he would have liked a response "well, thanks for the answer, but I'm going to hold out for $10 a point."
Kick Save said:Dave...I'm not confused by the process, and the venting is from the owner's standpoint of the price not going up, just as you said yourself. My main issue was, as crisi said, there was no response one way or the other to me when I had said I was more than willing to help them out.
The renter is full within his/her rights to hold out for $10 a point, $9 a point, $8 a point if it's out there. But, for a short supply such as standard view at BWV you may want to be prepared to pay more than you're asking. Or stay at OKW.
I rented some points out for this coming November to a fellow DISer who had no problem with $11, and so far the transaction as gone swimmingly. (Swimmingly in a warm pool.)
I just feel that if you're going to request a sort of "premium" service, such as using an owners 11-month window to get the week you're after, then you shouldn't be shocked to see more than $10 a point as the asking price. And if you don't agree to those terms, hitting "reply" on a PM isn't too difficult. (Good call, crisi.)
That's why I vented...felt better, too.![]()

Maistre Gracey said:One of five things will happen:
1) They will come around and pay your price.
2) They will find someone to rent for $10/point.
3) They will pay rack rate through Disney.
4) They will stay at cheaper, possibly off site accommodations.
5) They will cancel their vacation.
The way I see it, 4 out of 5 options.... they lose!![]()

let the "10 dollar" points stay in the family as it were.
I'll offer my points to another DVC member before i sell them to a non DVE person for 10 bucks.

spiceycat Groucho there was a member renting points from other members with sad stories and how poor she was, etc - for $8, $9 or $10 - then rerenting them on THIS BOARD for $11, $12 or $13....
DisFlan said:They got the standard "Ohhh, go rents points, it's SO cheap" suggestion from several posters.
I'm not anti-renting, but it seems like people are beginning to view DVC as a bottomless, cut rate form of CRO - that they have a "right" to, no less. This bothers me.
