The Rebel Forces Were Strong But The Smith's Are Stronger TR-7/20 FINAL THOUGHTS

Great update....love the part about Luke looking for his page....that cracked me up:lmao: I would love to go one year when it's on....just to say I was there....the Storm Troopers look really neat I think!!!

Love the outfits!

Good for you making rope drop so early and for accomplishing your TSM and Jedi Training goals.

Shame on you leaving out poor Luke - especially since you are such a big SW fan and all. ;)

Do you think the crazy crowds were due to it being SWW and Memorial Day weekend? The day we spent in the MK a week before Memorial Day was more crowded than I expected it to be. Too many discounts/deals or is late May always like that? These are the ponderings of us DIS/WDW addicts - LOL!

Renting points is very interesting but I like the meal plan. You can't buy the meal plan without a room can you?

That is my thinking. We went last year the weekend after Memorial Day and the crowds were quite manageable all around. I'm kicking myself for not paying better attention when I booked. I was going by the last day of school here, not paying any attention to Memorial Day. Never again. :headache:

Yikes! I will do my best to avoid DHS on SWW!!!

I would suggest that you do!

The Storm Troopers were really funny. I wish I had gotten to watch them more.

That's me...the HUGE Star Wars fan who didn't even know the Ewoks had names of the difference between Jango Fett and Boba Fett! :rotfl2:

I don't know what the deal was. Stacy has been for Memorial Day before and said it wasn't that bad. And I knew ahead of time that it was predicted to be 9s and 10s...I just didn't know what that looked like

You can get the DDP renting points. You have to pay for it at check in.

Same here...never again. And it's turned me off of a lot of other weeks too now that I know what a 10 looks like :headache:

I love your update!

I didn't know the characters at SWW would rotate either. We got in line to see Jedi Mickey, Leia Minnie and R2. Then they tell us they are all leaving and Storm Trooper Donald was coming. 3 were leaving and getting replaced by 1:confused3 We decided to wait anyway. DH and DD were next in line and Mickey and R2 came back out. Yay!!!

I loved SWW but it was out of control. I went to MK on Easter when I was 10 and I remember not being able to get through the crowds. That's how bad it was. I never thought it would be that bad. We are going to try Oct next trip. I was thinking Colombus Day week so DD will only miss 4 days of school instead of 5 but I am willing to miss one extra day to miss some of the crowds.

Looking forward to more!

Yikes, I made Hubby go brave that whie the girls and I had bkfst at Cape May. My ODD gets out of school the thurs before Mem Day. Not going over Mem Day again. Thinking earlier May maybe for Cinco de Mayo..

And some un-related pics of Aisling's graduation and one from a photo shoot Randy's cousin took of Aisling and her daughter in Newburyport, MA. It was an unplanned shoot. We are actually having a planned shoot. I'm trying to decide HOW to dress her...it won't be in a HSM tshirt i can assure you ;)

Aisling loved seeing the SW characters and I'm glad that we've done it...but not again!

I'm sure earlier May would be a lot better. We have plans for our next trip but more on that later! They won't be SWW though :rolleyes1

Have you gone in October before? The lines were longer in October than in Sept. but still weren't bad (other than at Food and Wine;)) In terms of the heat, it's hit or miss. The week before I went they need coats! We were sweating to death the following week.

I haven't been in October before. I've been in January, February, April, May, July, August & September. :rotfl2::lmao::rotfl:

I'll take whatever we get. I'm just happy to be going again. I figure with a few adult beverages some lines at Food & Wine won't bother me. :rotfl2:

Wow, those were some crazy crowds and lines! I thought we waited in a lot of lines for SWW things, but I think Memorial Day weekend was significantly more crowded. Yikes!

Glad you accomplished your morning missions (Jedi Training and TSM). Crazy how fast those things were gone!

Funny story about the autograph book! :rotfl:

I've never seen the cowboy side of the GMR...very cool.

I hope you had a good time at the parade...we really enjoyed that!

You had asked me to post a link to my TR. I just started it:

Can't wait to hear more about your SWW!

Ah yes, one grey goose slushie to cool you off from your run and you'll be thinking what lines???

I never want to see a 9 or 10! We saw a 6 which I think was more like a 7 or 8 and that was bad enough!

Good to know about DDP and renting points! Thanks for the scoop!

I've seen the photos of the two of them before but WOW! I think Ash grew and her cousin shrank!

Love, Love, Love that Vampire smile! So cute!

I'm sure earlier May would be a lot better. We have plans for our next trip but more on that later! They won't be SWW though :rolleyes1

Plans for the next trip? Do you think you could sneak that in there without us noticing? When are you going?

Great update!! YAY for Cowboy side!! I love that side, the one or two times I have seen it LOL!!!!!

What a cute picture with Luke and Leia!! I learned quick I had to time my waits in lines to see certain characters because if you didn't you would miss them...that makes it fun LOL!! I had to let people cut ahead of me at one point LOL!!!

Can't wait for your update on the parade!!

Aisling looks gorgeous at her graduation!!! YAY!!!

Don't worry...I will show you some pics of a 10 (actually there are some on my FB that you might have already have seen!)

Poor B didn't shrink...she's just tiny! She JUST barely made 40 inches with shoes for Disney.

Trip isn't for awhile. I will share at the end!

OMG!!! You WERE at SWW!!!!!! I totally saw you. I even yelled Jen (we were in line for Jango/Boba Fett and you walked by). But then I didn't yell again because I didn't remember you mentioning that you were going to SWW and thought that I would look like a big idiot if it wasn't you! I should have yelled again :sad2:

Get ready for waaaaaay too many parade pics!!! As most of you know, I normally take about 300-400 pics a day @ WDW! That's right...a DAY! So far I haven't bored you with too many of them (I know you've all seen the GMR, you don't need to see pics of it). But I couldn't really pick out of the parade pics so here they are.

Well we didn't get a shady spot but we did get a front row spot so at least we could see. Bright sun didn't make the best of pics but you get the idea. I sat down with the kids while Randy and Stacy went to get snacks/drinks. HSM came through first so we did some dancing to that

083.jpg

At this point, it was SOOO hot and Aisling was so tired, she started to cry. Then she rubbed her eyes and got salt from the popcorn in them. So she cried harder. Stacy's sons being the most caring children in the world were very concerned and started to fan her and mist her with the misting spray

084.jpg

We encouraged her to lay down using Randy's backpack as a pillow and nap until the parade started. It was also at this point that she was sick of her petti sticking to her legs and asked to take it off. So into the backpack it went (life was lot easier with a stroller). I was kinda bummed about this because the gorgeous designs were a lot harder to see without the petti but I guess her comfort is more important than my vanity ;)

Luckily we saved plenty of room because I got a text from Jessica asking us where we were. She ended up re-joining us for the parade. Don't they all look like they are melting???

087.jpg

Thank goodness we had the misters-they prevented many a meltdown- literally and figuratively

Luckily a view of Mickey can cheer anyone up!

Can someone tell me what Disney uses for makeup that these characters weren't dripping paint????

Parade over we had a decision to make. Should we brave a character line? a ride line? A food line???? Stay tuned popcorn::

Your parade pictures are awesome! :thumbsup2

Poor Aisling, sleeping on the backpack. Did she wake up to enjoy the parade?

I would love to know what they use for makeup because it is amazing that it doesn't melt!

Ooops sorry forgot that part. Yes, she saw the parade. She actually only slept for about 5-6 minutes before it started poor thing!

Your poor, sweet, melting little girl. When you said she got salt from the popcorn in her eyes I got all teary myself. How pitiful.

The Star Wars parade looked amazing. We had Sci Fi reservations at 11:00 so we missed it. I'm not going to show Tom to pictures so he doesn't know what he missed. ;)

I love looking at pictures, so no worries here! Poor Ash (and everyone else); it sure did look she was suffering. I can't even image how the CMs in the costumes felt!
